I have heard rumour that one may still access the text of all posts using 8chan’s direct IP at http://206.223.147.217/ or the Tor hidden service at http://onionbr5zulufnuj.onion/ but the onion site doesn’t load for me and I don’t have sufficient obfustication enabled at the moment to try getting at 8chan through an unprotected HTTP link.

This has happened at a bad time. If I could get a complete copy of the 8chan board I could write something to unspool it back into Endchan or some other imageboard by sequentially reposting all content and also including the original date, time, etc before each post body. Might be a useful thing to run on an ongoing basis too should 8chan come back for more than a week (though I doubt Endchan would appreciate the incoming traffic involved in mirroring posts).

You can access 8chan stuff via direct IP, while the hidden service is getting hammered by everyone trying to get on in apparently - though neither option allows access to images IIRC. Also, there's this pic related I managed to save before it all went to shit.

I've taken a text-only mirror of all threads in /cuckquean/ using wget and 8chan's direct IP address. If you want to grab a copy yourself and have access to wget in Linux, macOS via Homebrew, or Windows via Cygwin, make an empty directory, switch to it, and then use this command:

What will we do if 8chan remains down completely? Even if it comes back up I don’t know if it’ll stay up for long or not be completely fedposted into the ground. Endchan is a little comfy but very unreliable under the load and the UI sucks donkey balls. Many other boards have found a place on smuglo.li but I doubt the admins or community would find us close enough to /a/'s mission to host us there. The other small alt image boards are shady as hell.

I’m pretty blackpilled on this tbh. I think that it’s important that /cuckquean/ exists as an imageboard but the fact is that it’s a niche of a niche of a niche. There were some amazing posts but even when things were stable the board was slow as hell and organic recruitment was so low as to be nonexistent thanks to the Google ban. Even other boards on 8chan thought of us as a kind of comedy board, one that couldn’t possibly exist, and those that did come to visit turned out to want to talk about their dicks.

So now if 8chan comes back and stays back (unlikely) it’ll probably glow in the dark. We don’t fit any other imageboard’s remit except the suspicious tiny altchans. We’re scattered to the wind. The fetish has been colonised and hijacked elsewhere. Maybe it’s premature to mourn but maybe Endchan is a more appropriate name than we realise.

8chan might not come back up and recent events show that we can't rely on Endchan. I've been working on a /cuckquean/ bunker that if need be can become a longer-term home should 8chan never return or become unsuitable for our return. Smug/a/'s meta threads mentioned by  >>/199/ are where I'll be if Endchan goes down before I can post news here. I'll also do my best to get the word out through the scout anons.

It's all gonna be 大丈夫.

EDIT: My previous email cuckquean at 8chan dot co doesn't work anymore since all 8chan-related DNS has been nullified including the mail exchange records. I've registered cuckquean at airmail dot cc instead so you can reach me there as a last resort. It won't be checked very often so expect delays in reply.
