So, the LLM proper doesn't directly grab information from the internet. Instead, the LLM outputs a special message that is routed to a tool that then gives information back to the LLM, e.g., via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). I'm pretty sure that some local models are capable of using tools to get information from the internet this way.
