hello nekomillionaires
finna make a heckin blogpost
since my last blog I went to the city of PRAGUE in the czech republic (don't fall for the woke left 'czechia' meme). was going to blogpost about it while there and make some topical kingdom come: deliverance references, but didn't really get a free moment
Flight was at 6am on the sunday morning from stansted airport which (dox alert) I do not live near. We leave the house at like half one - bad start - so I am rawnekoing day 1 on only what sleep I get on the national express coach and the 2 hr flight itself.
Stansted is a real dive if you've not been there. You know those small town railway stations with like a broken ticket machine and 1 guy on duty? It felt like that. Was a little nicer after you get past the first set of barriers but rough start. Some parts look like those pop up vaccine centres in covid times. Prefab.
But anyway we get there far too early and have to wait around for ages. To break the monotony we go to the airport wetherspoons for 4am brekkie, and its even worse than you're imagining. Small, soggy, cold, tasteless, but enough about >my penis
Bingogirl is of course afraid of flying but I'm able to sooth her with my charisma and piercing glare. Ryanair flight so the sleep isn't great - very uncomfortable seating. However there is the usual psychological weight lifted off your shoulders the moment you are no longer flying over the united kingdom.
Prague was pretty from above - thin layer of snow/frost over the fields - but sadly airport is a while from the city so some more bus action needed. We buy our 3 day travel passes (only £11) and stamp them, then board the bus to find it is one of the only routes where the ticket isn't valid. Those czech pranksters.
It's a depressing city in a way, in that before you get to the pretty city centre you first pass through the outskirts, which consist of concrete commieblocks as far as the eye can see. soviets really did a number fr fr. But city is of course beautiful when you really get in there. All colourful buildings and medieval churches, red brick rooftops, old bridges etc. Had heard the city is usually flooded with tourists, but this must be firmly off-season because it wasn't really busy at all. Night and day compared to london.
Trip is only 3.5 days so we run through as many of the big tourist pulls as possible. All the main landmarks, a tour, various restaurants and shopping, but not much time for just chillaxing or blogposting. Was brave and ordered a tartar steak at a restaurant on day 2, assuming it was a steak covered in tartar sauce. No - its raw mince with an egg on top (image attached). Honestly it was quite nice, but did feel ill afterwards - probably placebo. Don't have most of the photos as bingogirl was handling it with her kodak, but attaching a couple that I took. The beer really is insanely cheap by uk standards btw. Like 2 quid a pint vs the £7.80 I spent at a brewdog in london the other day - doubtless a consequence of commissar keir starmer and the liebour party.
Flight back was also at 6am so another early wake up, but not nearly as bad as the way there. Hotel check out at like 3am, with a German teenager on reception asking for a list of everything we took from the mini fridge. I assumed they'd just tally that up themselves later and bill me, but no it was a real interrogation.
All in all very enjoyable trip, but should have been longer. Will go somewhere hotter next time (and actively blogpost while there). Bingogirl had a good time too. Had a dream the other night where I found her browsing my tok collection, which might be something subliminal.
