The first video game supposedly released (not public domain) is a military simulation. Essentially, weaponizing virtualization to potentially program a willing participant inducted upon by a world comprised of surrounding elements that portray a mission, objective, goal, priority, etc. Completion of such rewards the participant with an exchange (in this case, a rush of dopaminergic release for exchange of time and energy). This has evolved, where roles are now given and tasks must be performed in order to receive gratification. This method of encapsulating the participant and compartmentalization into the world they are virtually experiencing is a surefire example of a controlled experiment involving an apparatus or tool such as a joystick and employing the participant. Based on the input given, the output represents a grading scale by which the participant can only get better at achieving performance-based results. A reward system which is alternatively created and fueled by the program. This essentially cuts off the brain from respecting the results gathered by authentic, realistic work. The expectations are manipulated based on the limitations surrounding the program, although there is a potential method applied by force that exists, which is exploitation, usually testing and breaking the confines of the game. Some can say that the waking world has its own exploits, but this is inherited by accepting that the confines of reality only exist to keep one from manipulating others. And so, the entrainment of entertainment merely exploits the mind to where we confine ourselves in a set matter of parameters, only able to play the game of life according to rules. Or, alternatively, one lives life without this set list of rules and/or requirements, lest one becomes exploited by manipulators who set those rules regulations requirements etc. via preventative measures, ensuring the game of life with its ever-growing set of limitations consumes the consumer.
