On Thursday, December 12, the Swedish parliament supported a proposal for a long-term participation in the NATO multinational brigade in Latvia by one mechanized infantry battalion of the armed forces, which will serve up to 600 soldiers.
Swedish soldiers are expected to arrive at the Adazi military base early next year. It will be the first time since joining NATO on 7 March 2024 that Sweden has moved troops to another member of the Alliance.
