For me there is stuff I like about both Twilight with wings and Twilight without. Sometimes it does seem a little off with her without wings now for sure. They are also good for emotional expression.

WOW! That just feels weird. The change still seems kinda new to me. I was someone who never really hated the whole Twicorn thing. I was a little skeptical, but I figured that it could also be fun too. Though I do find myself agreeing with Twilight fans now more then I used to when it comes to complaints to the direction of her character.

Her character is awkward after she becomes a princess. From nerdy to a "I know everything and I can do no wrong" character, it made her look like the perfect princess (a Mary Sue like many joked back in 2014) 

However, I've got to put a warning sign here. I've got to say that I don't notice when she's a princess or Twilight just being Twilight. What I am trying to say is that despite all the titles and stuff, she ends up being the same for me. She has less moments and it hurts to see that she was put aside for a couple of seasons besides the premieres and finales.

Her charm is there and this last year proved that we are in front of the same character we all loved back in the early seasons. By the way,S1 Twilight was NOT that good despite what many people believe. She was placed everywhere when she didn't need to appear in the first place (Stare Master, Green Isn't Your Color) and kind of changes the natural pacing of the episodes.

Thank goodness she evolved and got more opportunistic when Lesson Zero happened. That's when Twilight became a forced plot device for the morals to a full character

In my opinion,her character really shone in 2017, with the movie and the Flurry and Zeppelin episodes. She showed genuine flaws and at the same time, all her changes (from 2010 to 2017) were put into the table(the princess duties with an auntie touch). I think focusing on her family and putting her as a teacher really balanced the sudden shitstorms in the middle and it  paid off in the end.

The Twilicorn drama feels recent,yet, we have more episodes and years with that change than the unicorn era.It feels really weird but we have changed a lot the perspectives since that sold out moment along with EQG.

The best thing is that Twilight cannot be ruined. She has survived a lot of things and diffucult years.I must respect those fans who have loved from the start.

You bet it was. In this era I used to think Twilight fans were kind of arrogant and selfish. Her characher was hogging the show a bit. I didn't really get at first when her fans started to complain about her being pushed aside or her being nerfed/holding the idiot ball. Wasn't season  6 that I started to see where they were comming from.

I feel like they really kinda screwed with her characher during seasons 4 through 6. Twilight went from being OP to being barely competent at times. Always right to being awlays stupid. I laughed when Twily fans  complained about her not using her horn laser or teleport away when she was surrouded (Leap of Fath anyone?). But more and more little momments like her having weird obtuse dialog or her being easily outsmarted that caused to actually take it seriously.

Haven't fully seen Season 7. (Dont worry. Seen the final, no worries of spoliers for me). But I have noticed her seeming more in characher this season.

Yeah, she was shoehorned when she didn't need to be. Kinda like how I feel sometimes with Starlight Dolores Umbridge (overall I don't realy love her or hate her). It often feels weird in eps for her to have a roll when she wasn't the focus of it. Either that she is taking a role that would be more fitting for another, or that she wasn't needed at all in the ep.

You didn't get Twifags because they were blinded and defended what they loved. Nothing more and nothing less,they went through times when they were really misunderstood( Twilight's inconsistencies didn't help) but looking at retrospective,it was painful to talk about her publicly.

You couldn't be proud of her or talk about anything without pointing out the wings joke and brainless responses( more or less what happened to Dolores Umbridge during the last year). I say that you will enjoy her the less you get obsessed about those changes. They are inherent to her and part of a new charm is that...she got away with it somehow. 

Don't have any rush to watch season 7 but I must say that you won't worry about these topics whenever you watch them.

FiM has gone through a lot of consistencies and huge mistakes yet those didn't prevent from enjoying standalone episodes for what they delivered. I think that perspective helped me to be more open about her recent appeareances and enjoy Twilight more than other fags.

The last part of her nam 'Umbridge' is Marewegian (of which her parents hail from) for "Of the bridge". Many people misunderstand her cutie mark as relating just to bridge work. When in fact it relates to anything having to do with crossing a space.

Word filters are only a problem if they mess up discussion. Otherwise I think there fine. Especially if they were used as a little in jokes or against trolls trying to derail the threads.

I'm glad that it was one of the previous board owners (How many were there anyhow?). It would be awful if the board was nuked because somepony liked Twilight in season 7 or didn't have a problem with starlight or something. Especially when it was just starting to be (kinda) alive.

I have no idea. There has to be some use for it though. It could imagen it being a bit of a burden to some. I love the idea of it being used in some form. Maybe we could put it back and only use "Starlight" and her various fandom nicknames to talk about her.

Kool and The Gang is for the parties, I wonder if you have reserved a lot of energy for that event (though the chill moments are completely guaranteed). You must end up exhausted.

Though she puts on an ostentatious display, she is actually quite insecure about her bridge works. She was discouraged from a young age do to the fact that it didn't fit her cutie mark. One of the reasons that lead her to her custom anti cutie mark brand of communism in the first place. So yes, certainly remember to compliment her bridge!
