 House Oversight Committee Serves Biden Family With Urgent Letters As Investigation Ramps Up

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) is serving notice to the Biden family that Congress will finally take a hard look at its actions that arguably compromise national security.
Comer is seeking key documents from Hunter and Jim Biden as part of his committee’s investigation into their foreign business deals. The committee is also interested in Hunter Biden’s correspondence with his former business partner Eric Schwerin, calling them “key witnesses in our investigation of Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s international and domestic business schemes.”
“Evidence obtained in our investigation reveals the Biden family business model is built on Joe Biden’s political career and connections,” Comer said in a statement. “Biden family members attempted to sell access around the world, including individuals who were connected to the Chinese Communist Party, to enrich themselves to the detriment of American interests. If President Biden is compromised by deals with foreign adversaries and they are impacting his decision making, this is a threat to national security,.”
Comer argued then informed the Biden family that Congress is seeking critical documents that would shed light on its numerous illicit business deals.
“The American people deserve transparency and accountability about the Biden family’s influence peddling. The Oversight Committee is committed to exposing the waste, fraud, and abuse that has taken place at the highest levels of our government. Hunter Biden, James Biden, and Eric Schwerin’s documents, records, and communications are critical to this investigation,” he said.
The House Oversight Chair then requested that the Bidens produce the following records, documents, or communications no later than February 22, 2023:
 1. Any document, record, or communication designated classified by any government body, including but not limited to any constituent agency of the U.S. Intelligence Community.
 2. Any communication with Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., James Brian Biden, or Sara Jones Biden between January 20, 2009, and January 20, 2021, regarding: any international or domestic travel with any government agency; and b. any international or domestic financial activity, including but not limited to communications related to banking and financial institutions, overseas bank accounts, credit card companies, bills, invoices, fees, agreements, financial arrangements, payments, wire transfers, contracts, QuickBooks, financial spreadsheets, office or residential leases, rent payments, real estate transactions, the Biden Foundation, and the Penn Biden Center.

Furthemore, the following names were mentioned as relevant to correspondence sought in the investigation:

a. Devon Archer;
b. JiaQi Bao;
c. Tony Bobulinski;
d. Jeffrey Cooper;
e. Catherine Dodge;
f. Gongwen Dong;

“Any endeavor to corruptly withhold or destroy documents or information that are responsive to the Committee’s investigation could be subject to penalties set forth in Title 18, United States Code, Section 1505,” Comer added.

 Multiple Biden Admin Officials Held Their Positions In Violation Of Federal Law
Multiple Biden administration officials are in office in violation of federal law, according to the nation’s top government watchdog.
The Government Accountability Office issued five separate reports indicating that the officials, who are working in “acting” roles while the Executive Branch positions are vacant, have occupied their offices for too long, in violation of the Federal Vacancies Reform Act. The positions include a member of the Office of Management and Budget, the Assistant Secretary of ICE, and a top official in the Department of Justice.
The Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998 “establishes requirements for temporarily filling vacant positions in Executive Branch agencies that require presidential appointment and Senate confirmation,” the GAO reports on its website. “This act identifies who may temporarily serve, for how long, and what happens when no one is serving under the act and the position is vacant.” The GAO, an agency of the legislative branch, issues letters to the president and Congress to report violations of the law.
The officials who have stayed in their position beyond the limits of federal law are:

Deidre Harrison, the acting Controller of the Office of Federal Financial Management within the White House Office of Management and Budget;
Allison Randall, the acting Director of the DOJ’s Office on Violence Against Women;
Tae D. Johnson, the acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE);
Karen Freeman, Craig Hart, and Ann Marie Yastishock, all of whom served as the Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia within the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID);
Charlotte A. Dye, the acting General Counsel of the Federal Labor Relations Authority

Government positions that require presidential appointment and Senate confirmation are called PAS positions. When a new president is inaugurated or an official departs from his or her position during the presidency, the Federal Vacancies Reform Act allows those positions to be filled by an “acting” official for a period of 210 days. That time period can be extended for up to 90 days when a new president is inaugurated, for a total of 300 days. In each office, the direct subordinate of the official assumes the acting role. However, the president can nominate someone to fill the position — either “an individual serving in another PAS position; or a senior agency officer or employee who has served for a minimum period of time prior to the vacancy.”
Under the law, the vacancies can be filled by acting officers while the Senate considers these nominations. Once the Senate confirms a nominee, that person takes the office. However, once the time period of permissible service under the law has expired, the particular government office must remain vacant, and only the head of each particular agency can assume the duties of the vacant office.
According to the GAO, Harrison has served as acting Controller since March 2021. She was allowed to continue serving while a nominee was considered. But from August 2, 2022, she continued to serve in violation of the Act. Randall has served since May 26 in violation of the Act; Johnson has served since November 16, 2021; Dye has served since November 16, 2021. Freeman, Hart, and Yastishock combined served from November 16, 2021 until August 8, 2022, in violation of the law, the GAO found.

EXCLUSIVE: Naming the names. Final batch of documents containing 'salacious' allegations related to Jeffrey Epstein associates - including Prince Andrew - will finally be made PUBLIC after dozens of John and Jane Does agree to unsealing

The final batch of court documents containing 'salacious' allegations related to 167 of Jeffrey Epstein's associates, victims, and employees, will finally be unsealed – nearly four years after the disgraced financier's death.

The material will be made public in the coming months and, DailyMail.com can reveal, is expected to include information pertaining to at least one 'public figure.'

The documents refer to 'alleged perpetrators' or individuals accused of 'serious wrongdoing', as well as law enforcement officers and prosecutors, according to a declaration filed on Wednesday.

Prince Andrew, who is accused of having sex with Epstein victim Virginia Roberts when she was 17, and Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, are understood to be among the individuals mentioned in the papers.

Other high-profile men who have been associated with the pedophile include Bill Gates, Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, though it is unclear if they will be mentioned.

The documents represent the last of the sealed material to be made public as part of a years-long process that has been rumbling through federal court in New York since before Epstein apparently killed himself in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.

The material was first filed in a defamation case brought by Roberts in 2015 against Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now serving 20 years in prison for sex trafficking and recruiting minors for Epstein.

The lawsuit was settled under seal in 2017 but the case material has since been gradually released in batches after numerous requests from media organizations.

The remaining documents are now set to be released after dozens of John or Jane Does mentioned in the papers did not object to their names being made public – which DailyMail.com understands includes The Duke of York.

The individuals are not named in a February 8 filing but all of them appear set to be revealed when the documents are unsealed.

J. Doe 5 is listed as a 'victim' who gave evidence at Maxwell's trial using only her first name.

Roberts's lawyers asked that her last name be redacted, but lawyers for Maxwell pointed out that she had used her second name in a media interview so it should not.

J. Doe 18 is an assistant state attorney who has been previously identified in a police report.

The individual appears to have been involved in the charges brought against Epstein in 2007 under which he served just 15 months in jail for soliciting a minor for prostitution as part of a sweetheart deal with state prosecutors in Florida.

J. Doe 21 is described as a 'public figure' by Maxwell's lawyers who objected to their name becoming public because of the only known reference to them being in Epstein's 'Black Book' of contacts.

Roberts's lawyers point out that the person made no objection to their name being released.

J. Doe 23 is deceased but was accused of 'serious wrongdoing', the documents state. They are not identified by name.

Maxwell's lawyers strongly objected to the release of any material related to J. Doe 36, who is described as an 'Epstein affiliate'.

Her attorneys said that during Maxwell's trial there was just one reference to the individual flying on Epstein's private jet.

The document states: 'The items the plaintiff (Roberts) hopes to unseal contain a number of salacious, unproven allegations'.

Lawyers for Roberts – who now goes by her married name of Virginia Giuffre – said that the material should be 'unsealed in full' as the person did not object to it coming out, even after being sent copies of the material related to them.
