AF1 landed at 5:50pm. The president got off board at 6pm. He did not come over to speak to the pool. He saluted the officer at the bottom of the stairs, turned to the press, waved and pumped his fist, and then walked to M1, which he boarded at 6:01pm.
M1 took off at 6:05pm for the Ellipse.
Flagging that while AF1 was in the air, the president posted on Truth Social promoting Will Scharf to assistant to the president and White House counsel, replacing David Warrington.
One note: It looks like my last note about the brief departure delay got stuck in my outbox before takeoff and just went out, about 50 minutes late. AF1 took off around 5pm. Sorry for any confusion.

Quick note before takeoff: After the president and the pool was already on the plane, a number of Secret Service agents gathered on the runway just under the wing and were looking down the runway at something that appeared to be delaying departure. • The Department of War is investing $1.4 billion into Sila Nanotechnologies, a California-based manufacturer, to expand production of silicon-carbon battery anodes and buildout a lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing facility to strengthen the supply chains of satellite operations, unmanned aerial systems, and munitions.
• The Department of War is investing $400 million into Sunrise Energy Metals to develop a full scandium value chain, including the world’s first primary scandium mine, to help secure the supply chain of high-heat aluminum alloys which are used in fighter jets and spacecraft.

The roundtable wrapped at 3:43pm. The pool was ushered out to get in vans as the audience was applauding.
Rubio, Burgum and Lutnick spoke about various mining initiatives from their departments. At one point, the president showed Rubio a piece of paper on the table and made a face, but we couldn't discern what was on the note from where we were.
The participants from the mining schools thanked the president for the investment and said it will allow more miners to complete their programs.
To applause, participant Pratt Rogers, associate professor and chair of University of Utah’s Mining Engineering Department, joked to the president, “Thank you for your attention to this matter,” echoing the president’s typical social media refrain.

The president kicked off the roundtable and spoke for about 12 minutes, largely about his administration’s goals of bringing mining and refining back to the US.
(As usual, check all quotes to tape).
He announced “an unprecedented financial commitment to our nation's mining schools” of $100 million.
“It's going to keep us nice and young and vibrant. The schools came to us seeking 10 million dollars per year in funding,” Trump said. “We’re thrilled to announce that we're delivering 100 million dollars to train the next generation of American miners.”
He also said the administration was announcing more mining projects and giving $81 million in grants specifically to the Colorado School of Mines, the South Dakota School of Mines, and Johns Hopkins University.
He said the US is opening up new mines at the fastest pace since the 1950s.
“Critical minerals are the raw materials of American strength that power everything from advanced weaponry to automobiles, and we want these essential products to be mined, refined, and made right here in the USA with the American skill and American hands."
"We have better skill. We have better hands than anybody in the world.”
He gave a shoutout to Jarrod Agen of the National Energy Dominance Council.
And as mentioned in the prior note, he also joked about the decor at the State Department and said he’d like to take some chandeliers, columns and paintings back to the White House: “I want to thank our great Secretary of State Marco Rubio for hosting us. This is a beautiful building, but you know, the president's allowed to remove things from any building. I'm liking the chandeliers. I like those Corinthian columns, but I don't know. Cutting them out would be not good. Beautiful columns, but I'm allowed to do it. Every once in a while, I come in here and grab a painting and put it in the Oval Office, but not too much.”
Rubio, Burgum and Lutnick are speaking now, in that order. Rubio joked that the president shouldn't look at the painting behind him or he'd take it.

The president entered at 3:07pm, shortly after Secretary Howard Lutnick, Marco Rubio and Doug Burgum. There are a host of other participants also seated at a 15-person long table, including representatives from mining schools.
Trump began speaking at 3:08pm and said he would be announcing investments in mining. He complimented Rubio on the building and said he might take some things for the White House.
The event is in the State Department’s Benjamin Franklin State Dining Room, one of the diplomatic reception rooms. There’s a large audience seated, and we’re about 13 rows back.

Good morning from the White House on an August day that feels like an August day in DC.
The president has nothing open to the pool or the public until this afternoon, when he is appearing at the State Department for a mining roundtable.
Pool has asked what, exactly, he is doing in the three-hour block of "executive time" between 0800 and 1100 as stated in today's guidance.
(In the past when pool has asked what "executive time" means, the press office has responded: "executive time means executive time.")
For those interested, as of five minutes ago, there was no Marine sentry outside the West Wing door, suggesting that at least so far, today's "executive time" is happening in the residence.
Will advise if pool is summoned for some reason.

The National Park Service employee provided this witness testimony to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in early July, as seen below. Numerous other events took place, including using an acid like material on the just installed grass adjoining the Pool. On it were written the letters, “86 47,” a phrase probably gotten from James Comey. There was substantial other damage to the Reflecting Pool, also but, unfortunately, there is no video or proof, other than the damage, itself. We are working on the Pool, and it will reopen shortly. As with many jobs, there was also some contractor error done by rushing the job for a July 4th opening, but it was a very small area of this massive Pool, and was relatively inconsequential. Further investigation by the government included interviews with two National Park Service ("NPS") employees, W-1 and W-2, who were both engaged in cleaning the interior of the Reflecting Pool. The defendant approached the area where they were working. W-1 stated they observed the defendant using his cellular telephone to take what the NPS employee believed to be video or a photograph(s) of the damage to the reflecting pool. The NPS employee, W-1, stated that the defendant then knelt, placed both hands into the reflecting pool-below the surface of the water-and started to "violently" rip and tug at a large portion of the blue pool coating. The NPS employee, W-1, asked the second NPS employee, W-2, to contact police and requested that the defendant not touch or rip at the coating. The defendant told W-1, that the NPS personnel were "awfully sensitive about the pool" and he continued to tug at the coating until National Guard soldiers arrived.

The material was cut right where the video tape showed, for 300 feet or more. “This was a blatant abuse of discretion…To begin with, the district court had no jurisdiction because the Trust has no standing to stop construction at the White House…[T]he balance of equities overwhelmingly favors the government. The district court elevated the aesthetic displeasure of a single passerby over the government’s security interests in the ballroom and the security risks of leaving an open construction site at the President’s home and office…These errors in equitable judgment require vacating the injunction…The district court seized supervision of construction at the White House, and my colleagues affirm this judicial overreach…Because the injunction is beyond the proper province of the federal courts, construction should be allowed to continue.”
The decision has been stayed, and does not take effect for a period of time. We will be immediately appealing to the United States Supreme Court. The Military and Secret Service are viewing this horrendous, politically motivated, and unlawful ruling as a National Security threat to our Nation in that the entire Complex is being built for the protection of our Country and, additionally, all future Presidents. The single, integrated project includes Bomb Shelters, State of the Art Hospital and Medical Facilities, Protective Partitioning, Top Secret Military Facilities, Structures and Equipment, Protective Missile Resistant Steel, Columns, Roofs, and Beams, Drone Proof Ceilings and Roofs, Military Grade Venting, and Bullet, Ballistic, and Blast Proof Glass. It is all tied together as one big, expensive, and very complex unit, which is vital for National Security and Military Operations of the United States of America! The Circuit Court’s decision, which is totally wrong on the vital subject of STANDING, of which the plaintiff has none, severely jeopardizes the lives and welfare of the people who work, and will be working, at the White House — including all future Presidents of the United States, and their families, as well as the lives of all those visiting, such as Heads of State and other Dignitaries, and all Americans who wish to visit the historic, beautiful Executive Mansion. The Circuit Court also refused to acknowledge that the desperately needed, and totally secure Ballroom, which is being built ahead of schedule and under budget, is a Gift from President Trump and Great Patriots of the United States of America. There will be no expense to the American Taxpayer. This unjust decision must be overturned by the Supreme Court in its entirety.
