I used to be a part of a big raiding Discord related to trying to cleanup 4/r9k/. Place is now pretty much just a chill discussion group.

We used to spam WikiPedia articles in trap threads while sage bombing, probably made a few doxing attempts. Also raided /cuteboys/ once or twice IIRC. Even discussed making an alternative board just like this one.

Fun times. Lots of lulz and ban evasion.

tragic...absolutely tragic.

i fell for the discord meme once. It was because i made a thread talking about making a robots only board like this one. They invited me in to collaborate with them on making one. But there were obvious normies in the discord and the supposed Ronin9000 never happened as their "efforts" were slow.

Discord is a cancer that kills the potential for smaller imageboards to grow in my opinion. I think a lot of robots went to discord though, abandoning anonymity simply because they couldn't find an alternative, or were too used to speed. Discord allows small communities to be fast.

Here he have something similar in development called "realtime". Anyone who checks that box will see a post being drafted as it is typed. I assume this is inspired by meguca.org, which implements similar functionality. The realtime feature here though is pretty ugly like pretty much everything else on the frontend kek but I think OdiliTime is working on it.

i posted a lot of gore while saging in shit threads made by roasties in an attempt to get people to stop replying to them (for example, one was some roastie saying her husband reads to her at night). i ended up getting banned for a day for "posting /b/ material outside /b/. gore used to get posted all the time on /r9k/, that used to be a tactic to scare off normies. i actually used to be a mod on /b/ in 2005, and the administration then was never as arbitrary and disappointing as the current administration of 4chan is. many of them deliberately attempt to bypass peoples filters (which is a rule violation) in an attempt to get more attention. i really wish they would enforce rule 6 more often, and move trap and faggot threads to /lgbt/ and fembot threads to /soc/

It sucks. It really does. Seems our choices are going to be "have a slow, comfy board" or "have a fast board that has lots of low quality posts". 4chan may look better than 8chan or endchan, and 4chan may be faster than both, but I see a lot of potential in 8chan, the altchans, and other places.

All a 4chan moderator would have had to have done to fix /r9k/s issues is care about its userbase. That's all that was ever required. Instead, they'll let it go to shit and justify alienating the core userbase because "lol moot said it should be that way"

I'd rather put forth my quality posts on both endchan and 8chan than to put effort into posting on 4chan. Why? Because my post will likely be ignored and flushed down the catalog minutes or hours after I make it. This just encourages shitposting.

I'll take my slow, cobbled together altchans over 4chan's speed and lack of post quality any day.

I still use 4chan. And I'll probably keep using 4chan. But more and more the only thing I do is lurk it.
