One thing that has always been interesting to me is to look at people's style. each person has his own style. for example if there is someone on twitter posting art or photos, or own drawings/art, you can always get a sense of the overall style. e.g. certain people like certain colors, or certain motives, or certain characters, etc. or a band has their own style or a game too. i don't really like the word style, maybe there is a better word for it

Well cam and doc probably find it annoying and rightfully so. They offer their advice almost every day and I never do anything at all with it. It's like trying to teach your dog a trick they're never going to learn, probably gets frustrating fast. Also I swear I do try to put some of the ideas into practice but I can never stay consistent with any of them, my shadow or whatever it is that's controlling me wins the battles every time 

I've been having murderous thoughts again these last few days, taking revenge on society feels more important than my future or that of my family. For now I've just shut myself in and will try to limit my experience to the two places and people I'm comfortable with, which is easier said than done. But if I don't do it I may lash out in a bad way again and I can't afford to continue down that path

Yesterday I was a bit sleep deprived because I had an appointment waaay off my sleep schedule normal bounds.
Sleep deprivation is an instant cause for involuntary lucid dreaming to me.
A part of that dream had a situation in a car in which I was dealing with multiple assailants coming at me in a vulnerable spot.
I was self-aware of it being a dream, but it was still a full sensorial kind of dream, and a looping one. I got shot in the face at least 3x before figuring it out. Full pain, smell, horror, surviving a while with parts of my face in my hands. This happens somewhat often, and while I dread it as it is about to happen, its still just like a really good horror experience, or a roller coaster.
Other parts of the dream: Being a semi non-corporeal being that was very light, but attached itself to the end of a stick and was using it like a cane to move around balanced on it.
Sex, pics related. 
Some time living in a cabin in japan, felt like a week.

yeah I can definitely see that being an aspect of it but nobody is going to think of you as being gifted or destined for success if you aren't also getting good grades and showing other signs of intelligence beyond being able to understand and repeat "smart adult stuff". I think the cause of the eventual failure to live up to those expectations probably lies elsewhere. there's no reason to think "former gifted children" weren't actually gifted, it's just that you need more traits other than just intelligence (in the sense of IQ/proficiency at learning and abstraction) to get ahead in society, things are much more complicated than that

she's doing better, thanks for asking. sleeping well and far less confused/lost than she was just a week ago. sadly she's still not 100% there and honestly it's very likely that she'll keep having these sorts of problems for the foreseeable future. I mean, Doc can probably remember me talking about my mom's struggles a decade ago. It's not going to magically heal all of a sudden, if anything it'll keep getting worse. Plus at this point there is enough neurological damage from all the pills and seizures and whatnot that she's not capable of doing much on her own. I was cooking for her, administering her medication, etc. That stuff wouldn't be so bad if she didn't have these massive declines, but the point is that there's increasingly little she can do for herself. Her psychiatrist recommended the municipal retirement home (which is actually quite fancy) and I think that's probably the best option for her at this point. I can't worry that she's going to find some creative way to die every second that I'm out of the house. Speaking of which, is that what you're dealing with with your own mom?

I have been pondering on the parallels of nuclear energy suppression vs the ways they will try to suppress AI.

Nuclear energy was suppressed (via propaganda and policy making) in most countries but not all. The countries that did explore nuclear only have less pollution as an advantage, not like massively cheaper energy.

AI is not the same, AI is a massive advantage from the get to go. If they cannot suppress it globally, the countries who get it will eat the lunch of the ones who suppress it.
The only question is if countries who restrict AI use to the elites will be able to compete with the ones who let it run wild.

Youtube recommended a video about Dagon (2001), a Lovecraft adaptation I had never heard of. I went ahead and watched it and I must say I enjoyed it a lot. It's a B movie through and through but it's one of the charming ones. It's a very different category within horror. But not many Lovecraft film adaptations. So it's more about his actual works, novels and short stories. But his stuff considerably differs from contemporary horror writers like King, Koontz, or Barker.
Within movies those tend to be better which don't use (or at least overuse) jumpscares, but build on the atmosphere and storytelling. Slasher movies ("spooky scary chainsaw man") again a different category within horror. The can be great, for example watching Jason butchering everyone one movie after an other can be very satisfying. As for the "spooky scary little girl", the one where the little girl was a genetically defective middle aged/old psychopath - I don't remember the title, perhaps the Orphan, have to check - that I find quite disturbing, therefor impactful horror.

It's not just women who have all the tricks like makeup and plastic surgery.
For men there is a procedure called "facial harmonization" that genuinely gives model-like features to almost any abomination and women will absolutely fall for it.
It's not even expensive and risks are minimal. You have to maintain it every year and it looks odd on really older men, but anyway...

The risk to reward ratio is pretty high right now. BTC has already been going up for months now. The best time to buy an asset is always after massive crash or a black swan event. But BTC hasn't had that yet. And if you bought now or around 50k you would have a very high risk of not making any big potential gains. Even if it went to 100k from 50k, you would only get a potential 100% increase on your investment, whereas you could have more than a 1000% on XRP or on other altcoins
I am not very confident in BTC at the moment, it does not seem there are very big gains to be had in BTC, and the risk is high. If I had BTC right now I would probably sell most of it or shift it into altcoins

Yesterday I watched 45 minutes or so of Alex Jones's show on Twitter and today I woke up and remembered two dreams: one was shortly before I woke up where my mom was trying to speak to me but I woke up before she could talk to me and the other was that I was somehow in the middle of a war where I was with some group of soldiers or attackers. Most modern therapy is ineffective because of the rejection of the metaphysical/religion language/thinking, they actively try to remove the metaphysical of the mind and make things even worse.

So why trying to be perfect causes the shadow to become a demon?
Because we are unaware of the whole shadow part, and we craft the most perfect ideal for ourselves (ego) and try to chase it, but we instead get frustration after frustration by never living up to it. In most cases this demand for perfection comes from a parent, and the only emotion/experience the shadow gets is the feeling of being rejected and unloved by never living up to the perfect ideal. 
A second part of this dynamic is that when you have negative emotions and wishes, instead of trying to understand why you feel/want that, you suppress it, because it is not you. By making it not you, you make it your shadow's.

Sleep deprivation is means to the end of reaching an altered mind state, in which the persona/ego is already sort of conscious in the subconscious.
It feels like you are watching yourself, depersonalization episode they call it.
If you prep before sleeping, and reach that state, you get lucid dreams almost every time.
There are many ways to reach that state, I used to prefer "sensorial overload".
Extremely heavy music (pyramids + nadja being my favorite) combined with a saturation of visual stimuli (some videoclips work, but I used to just browse art/photography galleries like pinterest/pixdaus/etc...
It's a strange state of overload + boredom but entertained. You leave the external world and shelter in the inner world, its by itself a really good state to do creative stuff. Sleep deprivation facilitates it, but its not necessary. 
After a while I can just will myself into that state at will.

yes I do remember when you explained this and I think I mentioned that I was familiar with that "altered mind state", but I didn't deliberately seek it out and it didn't happen that often. It felt exactly as you described it. I know this isn't very relevant but just as an aside "extremely heavy music" probably wouldn't do it for me, what always helped induce that state was poppy music with some edge to it, especially if it's based on britpop stylings. Recently found out my 13yo sister has been sleeping around for a while now. With tattooed brown men of course. I won't hate her for it because the state of society, and of Argentina and this town in particular, is not her fault. She's a product of her environment, she never really stood a chance, I just deluded myself into believing she had enough of a soul that she could push through it. Obviously I don't feel the same way about her that I used to. Both her and my mom are still alive and yet it feels like I'm mourning them. I feel more pity for myself than I do for her; it honestly feels like every bet I made, every decision I took in the last several years has backfired. I have no friends, no job, no partner, no hope for the future, no family left beyond my dad and he's pretty sick himself. Things have really gone about as wrong as they could have. Not trying to throw a pity party or anything I'm just thinking out loud. It's hard to believe life can get this dark. Then again I guess it wasn't much better when I was stuck alone with my mom during her alcoholic abusive phase, this is just fresher. I'll get through it, it's just hard to believe. This sort of nightmarish situation I think is the closest thing to cosmic horror that actually happens in the real world

I've been talking to my friend from night school about this and she was very understanding and told me about her own experience with her two eldest daughters becoming addicts recently. She and her husband did everything by the book when they raised them but it still wasn't enough for them. I know I should've probably just said yes and given it a chance but I'm in such a shit place lately that I think I'm gonna have to start things off as slowly and gradually as possible. What do you do when you're dealt a bad hand? You lose. As far as I can tell that's how it goes, in card games and in life. Of course you can still play the game, you can still get lucky, maybe even win the lottery and enjoy material comfort, but there's no starting over with a better hand. In the end you're still going to lose. It's all for naught. That's looking at life from a perspective that conforms to society's beliefs though, which is what I'd rather avoid doing from now on. It's never done me any good anyway. At some point you have to start trying something different right? It's just common sense. It's hard to beat the programming but I don't have a choice anymore I think.
