How did Scott Adams become such a wingnut? He sees Bill Nye say, "I don't know a precise number," and uses it to exclaim that Bill Nye was hallucinating, experiencing cognitive dissonance, and to suggest Global Climate Change isn't being pushed by skeptics. He also truly blogs as a Trumptard who thinks Trump can do nothing wrong, because he is a "visionary leader" and "master persuader" (Scott's choice of terms.)

I used to think he was grounded and on point, but what the fuck went wrong went wrong with his thinking? Did he develop a brain tumor?

It  also looks like he'll draw fewer cartoons and spend more time blogging on youtube soon, as his drawing skills decline woth age. Is he just acting like a wingnut for the money since most of his audience are white collar Republicans who consume whatever the Wall Street Journal says?

It bothers me that Dilbert looks like he did the field engineer trick of tucking the tie in our pocket so as to not hang yourself on something, but it's actually hanging loose but affected by cartoon logic. It almost seems like purposeful metaphor but is just slightly too dumb to convince me that it is.

That's probably what did Adams in. He's like Nietsche at his final days.

If that theory was scientific, they would use scientific arguments to promote it; they appeal to emotions instead. They would debate the deniers, they almost never do, and when they do they fail miserably, so they prefer not to.

We've known it's bad ever since Silent Spring proved the chemical companies were putting out disinformation. We need more books like that today, and we need to fund investigative reporting.

Since we're Going There^TM, I propethisize that the reason time appears to stop at speed of light is that time is the ultimate measure of mass. It's like pressure in a body of water: if you swim upwards and reach lower pressure (slower passage of time form your perspective), you will eventually reach an event horizon where there is no more water to swim in. Reaching faster than light speeds shouldn't be impossible, but it wouldn't obey all of the rules we know to make acceleration in general possible. Technically to find out I think we would need to establish a colony that spends a few millenia inventing a new science by living permanently at the speed of light.

What the fuck is a Weber? Yeah it's 1 Tesla*m^2, but what the fuck does that mean in a practical sense? Does that mean it's a unit of measurement for a magnetic field for every squared meter? But that doesn't make sense either since it would be 1T/m^2. Is it just using magnetic field as some sort of distance gauge?

I'm really confused here, please help.
