this movie is bad in almost every way. it fails as a compelling or satisfying story, characters are one-dimensional, the cinematography is uninspired, the resolution is almost insulting. it would even fail as a parody.
if these are the "original stories" the public have been demanding of hollywood, maybe they should stick to remakes and adaptations.

While there was absolutely critique in the movie (for instance: the scenes where Leo was calling that hotline) I don't think that the movie is critiquing some things that I genuinely found strange. The whole Saint Nick Crusaders thing or whatever was clearly absurd to the point of parody, but it's still clearly a commentary against the white-protestant old guard. Also, the fact that the mother at the end is played as sympathetic despite being a truly despicable person is odd.

Agreed, good pacing and humor. Acting was fantastic all around also. 

I enjoyed it but the themes were a bit confused. Also main girl is super cute.

Interesting vids. Definitely some things I didn't pick up on in there. Forgot the bitches name was Perfidia, I member thinking that was pretty on the nose in the theatre. 

Anyway, I pretty much had the same interpretation of the movie as he did for the important parts. I think the reason it doesn't feel entirely coherent, or maybe a better word is comprehensive, is because it doesn't actually take a critical look at the cause, rather how it is carried out. IDK I still enjoyed it but just didn't find it particularly profound.
