Let's talk about Ukraine. Despite what is going on over there, which is sad and devastating to that country, around a million Russians and Ukrainians have died over that senseless war. This war could have, and should have been, prevented in the first place through simple diplomacy. It still can be, only our political leaders choose not to negotiate with Russia, nor will Ukraine's leaders. The Western strategy seems to be "to the last Ukrainian" and the Russians don't seem to care if it continues and more lives are lost. This whole war really could be stopped if we just had some real diplomacy and cease-fire negotiations but NO ONE is calling for it. I said since Day 1 this was a stupid idea, that things will only get worse if this war were to escalate. I was right, and now our state-run media is starting to call for a draft because Ukraine can't win without Western intervention. I just want to say FUCK THAT, no way, not me, not my family! What the hell is so important over there anyway, what does Ukraine have to do with America's interests here at home!? Take a look at their current government for example: the government of Ukraine canceled their own fucking elections and are now under dictatorial rule, it's not a "democracy" which is the biggest joke of a lie I've heard so far. Their economy has basically collapsed, we do not need them in NATO (NATO already surrounds most of Russia without Ukraine!) Several border oblast regions actually held a referendum and voted to become part of Russia anyway. This whole war is pointless, and to hell with our corrupt war-mongering political "leaders" who wish to send us to die in some meat grinder.

Any anons have other opinions or thoughts on this?
They won't risk it right before a major election, but after the 2024 election? Maybe. It is hard to say how the public would respond to a draft or how dastardly the government would enforce it.

The American people will eventually end it, when we tell everyone else to fuck off it's not going to become our problem. That's exactly how it will happen. And when it does, Zelensky will capitulate a deal with Putin no matter how much he hates doing so, he'll be forced to. Unless he can bide more time getting the Europeans involved, but that won't happen as it would cause an anti-war political revolt across Europe if they dare tried to.

Don't get me wrong. I feel very very sad for Ukraine, they have it very bad. Horrible actually. But fuck!.... we never voted for this. We never wanted this. The absolutely corrupt evil American government may have ...but *We The People* did not have anything to do with this and won't. We are not going to become cannon fodder or the fall guys over this war. If Ukraine wants to end this misery they'll have to surrender or come up with a peace agreement with Russia, or they'll have to flee their country, or better yet overthrow their own government. Sorry! Joe Biden started it yes, but We The People won't take part fighting Russia for Ukraine's behalf. It's a bitter hard fact but our governments will have to gulp it down sooner or later.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/world-reaction-us-presidential-debate-170424955.html

After reading this report it becomes clear the US government is in a big dilemma. They can continue trying to undermine nations like Russia, China and Iran with dwindling domestic support for major war.... or they could simply give up trying to police the world and address the political polarization and problems we have here at home. It's not like America can win any major war without full support of the citizenry, and citizens have too many other problems, they don't have time for some major war nor do many want to be involved at all. Russia knows this. So does China. So does Iran. So does everyone in the world. America has too many problems here domestically to be successful policing the world trying to win war after proxy war with geo-political adversaries. I think it's time to ditch the neo-con conquest for endless war and global hegemony already, focus on fixing our own problems. Does that mean the boogeymen like Russia and China win? Not nessessarily, it just means America needs to re-think what really is necessary for our country to be united and strong and what is really best for We The People. Unfortunately, if that results with Ukraine losing so be it, but we don't have to lose our own country over the mess going on elsewhere do we?

> Be patient

Did you really think I'll remain patient while the world is going to hell? I have been busy prepping, making sure me and my family have all the basic essentials and needs to survive what is coming and glad we moved to a rural location to get out of dodge already, read this and you'll learn why:

As a Ukrainian i confirm your point, that's all is just a pointless madness going on. Probably at the start it had some spirit of freedom and sense of fighting for a greater cause. But now everything is clear, it's so over and so sad that it wasn't prevented

I hope Trump or some other 'merican fella stops funding Zelensky with cocaine and guns and gonna push him and another psychopath Putin to negotiate
It'd be the best of possible endings at the moment

I'm sorry, all I can say is be careful who you trust. We as Americans will do our best to reform our own government in the elections (Trump '24!!!!), if we can successfully do so without all the ballot rigging.... Until then - and unless that actually happens - do not trust us, do not trust our corrupt government, do not put yourself or family in harms way. Do not flee to Western nations either, they plan to draft the refugees because our governments are complete scumbags.

No nation wins in major wars. No one but corrupt governments and big banks. Remember both sides of the war are funded by the same oligarchy, always!

Both sides have a lot to lose if they don't come up with a peace agreement soon. I wouldn't count on citizens from other countries bailing anyone out of this mess our governments have created. Not this time around, people around the world are tired of these endless wars.

Nobody cares about Ukraine that much other than some brainwashed leftie, tranny or nato propagandist in 2025, go back to your lefty/pol/ and stay there. The only right way to greet a recruitment officer is with deadly force the moment they try to van you, if you get to the military after forcibly being dragged there, once they hand you the gun, the only right thing is to shoot your sergeant/others keeping you there against your will. They trained to kidnap and force you to fight for them without your consent, they deserve death. Simple as. Hello officer, meet Mr. Brick here, Mr. Brick, MEET HIS FACE!

Ukrainian women would have to sell themself to Israeli-Trump to play the card game. This situation is quite horrific that the USA is no longer GO Joe and won’t save the world from the monsters. Because Trump is the villain with the monster friends.

A few observations I've not seen made elsewhere.

Ukraine is a mirror image to the Monroe doctrine. As the USA claims nothing happens in north or south America without their consent, so too is Ukraine in Russia's sphere of influence. I'm not saying this is right, or just. It just is what it is.

Major events in human history have a long reach to dominate the shaping of events afterwards, but not a full century after. It's been more than 80 years since WW2 ended and its historic influence is almost played out. The USA signed up to keep the fascists down and out, save western Europe from economic collapse, and to hold communism and the Soviet empire at bay. Today? Western Europe's thriving. The Chinese, and Vietnamese, are still communists (depending on who you ask) but they're not interested in spreading communism and are no threat to Europe. The reborn neo-Mongolian Tsarist empire of Russia is pretty nasty, sure. They're also an entirely European problem far outside the context of anything the USA signed on for. Even more so as they are a problem Europe can handle on their own if they want to.

Yeah, if. Yesterday, Nato was meant to hold the line just long enough for the Americans to show up again in force while paying for most of it. Today, Europeans think Nato means America pays for it all. Poland is the only Nato member with a realistic attitude demonstrated by spending what it takes to build the largest and most modern fleet of armored fighting vehicles in the world. A few other Nato members have said, "Sure! We get it! We'll pony up and pick up the tip." They made very modest increases to their defense spending in the hope this would bring America back to the bar and pay for the drinks. Sadly, America is not cooperating. Turns out the Europeans still need to greatly expand their military establishments. That means far larger armies, the creation and maintenance of enormous munitions stockpiles, and the building of expensive and extensive weapons manufacturing and related supporting infrastructure. As in more than three times the modest increases by everyone, not just the thrifty adventuresome few.

Also means Britain and France must expand their nuclear stockpiles. Yeah, now we're talking expensive. Ask them about paying for that and one quickly suspects they're praying Poland decides to go nuclear in the near future.

Europe will continue to deliver platitudes about the need to defend Ukraine. Watch what they spend.

As for America, their sights are on China, and the next show down for the Pacific. The air is full of talk of the Quad made misty with wild eyed dreams of a Seato reborn where everyone pays their fair share.

Ukraine? No. Otherwise, place your bets.

Many countries have already fallen to the new world order. Germany and UK most definitely with their immigration and liberal treatment toward the influx at the expense of their own population. This will stand only until it falls and when it does you will surely see even a larger, more profound reversal as is being seen in America now.

It's gone on too long, funding was one thing and JD put it best, "what are we fighting/paying for?" For the white middle class Karens to jail anyone who doesn't kiss the feet of north African and middle eastern immigrants even while they gang rape children.

Thank god it's reversing, such lopsided thinking would eventually destroy civility entirely. I hope UK and Germany stop the insanity before it goes that far. The US won't stand for it.

China is the elephant in the room, preying on everyone with unfair predatory trade tactics, loans for infrastructure that enables China to own their resources in exchange.

China will be in the next world war even if it's US against the world. China won't be on our side, and neither anyone who sides with them.
