It pays well.
It's a real job.
It's a productive job that benefits society.
Americans respect welders far more than they respect bankers or wall street investors.
More importantly trade jobs allow Americans to find work outside the cities so they can live normal lives in safer places.
Most importantly you don't need to go into tons of student loan debt to be a welder, you just join a far less expensive trade school which will also help you find work.

Plumbing is a good line of work depending where it is you work, lots of wealthy boomers and gen X need the service too and they'll pay good money for it. Plus it gets easy once you get the hang of it and learn the trade.

Student loans were a massive scam and now everyone with a degree is crying that they are broke without any jobs available to them. I warned you fuckers it was a massive federal-created scam!

Trade jobs are not as easily automated or taken over by AI systems. As a functional society we will always need hands-on human labor whether it be for plumbing, electrical work, construction, infrastructure repair and maintenance, farming and ranching, mining and resource refining.... you cannot have a functional economy without these trade jobs. In fact, society plunges into the third world without this essential human labor.

If you push papers and file documentation at some desk at a corporate HQ AI is going to replace you. If you know how to code, well AI will be able to code much better and faster at minimum cost.

Why are people obsessed about trade jobs? It's about to become the only job security you will have.

So many young people today regret taking on massive federal student loan debts to get worthless college degrees while people in the trade can take on mortgage payments after a couple years of working and saving. It was never college that created the middle class, that was all a lie, it was the trade, vocational schools, learning hands-on skills.

I knew an old neighbor who was able to retire by the age of 50 just because of the money he saved up doing trade jobs since 1966. Before he retired he paid off all his mortgage debt and bought an RV to go on yearly road trips with his family, his wife not having to work. The trade is what made America great, don't let a bunch of "educated" marxist nut jobs or maga grifters fool you telling you otherwise. Without the trade middle class America would have never existed.
