I need some advice and answers on why my face is fat since age 23 (I'm a dude). That's when I noticed my face becoming rounder and now people just think I'm ugly. Is it really as simple as metabolism slowing down or is it the hard mental stress making fat loss harder, or the fact I had a few courses of Accutane that somehow fucked my system? Feels like I'd need to be a top athlete to just look normal again. Idk I'm really envious of people with better fat distribution or high metabolism rate; they can be alcoholics and sit on the sofa 24/7 and still not look hideous.

Same happened to me as I got older. I once was kinda skinny but as I aged I got fatter. Not fat as in 300lb huge, but my neck and face got more blubber and I got a beer belly now. I think this is rather common for two reasons: #1 I have a bigger appetite today than I did when I was younger and #2 I drink alcohol routinely (not every single night but pretty much every other night). The combination of getting older, eating and drinking more often can fatten you up over time. Ever notice why in high school the nerds were always skinny and the jocks who liked to party all the time tended to be on the heavier side? Same reasoning.

Yeah, well I was the opposite of a jock in school. I do remember when I worked a physical job my sister said I looked "fitter" again so I guess I'll just have to admit to myself that it's just unfortunate fat distribution coupled with depression/being sedentary. It's still annoying though. I can try leaving out complex carbs and eating the whey protein I have.

I would advise you to eat less, substitute a meal for a green smoothie once in a while and definitely exercise more often. Exercising routinely burns off excess fat in your body. The more you eat the more you gain it right back. Same thing with drinking alcohol or soda.
