You are witnessing the late stages of empire. America and Europe used to be beacons of liberty, prosperity and cultural greatness. Not anymore. We are no longer the same countries. Our political leaders are super corrupt and so are our governments. Citizens are vastly becoming second-class citizens in their own nations. Almost everyone is deep in debt, our entire nations are financially insolvent and bankrupt, political polarization is tearing our nations apart and thus people no longer trust society around them and have to question everything because the media constantly lies to us. There is a growing trend of demoralization too which is leading to younger generations dropping out of institutions and isolating themselves (I can't blame them really). Almost everything we need to live a normal life has become unaffordable anyway which does not help. Our governments care more about wars and maintaining hegemony around the world then actually taking care of the problems we have here in our own countries. Overall you are witnessing a decline in the American Empire which in turn negatively impacts all our allies as well, our allies in Europe being in far worse stages of rot and decay.

That's exactly what's funny. You are not an empire. I have been living in Germany for four years and I see that you have:
1. More democracy than Russia.
2. You hate those who are closer to you culturally, because you cannot hate barbarians.
3. You don't vote in municipal elections and think that something will change.
4. You don't participate in the social life of your cities and sit at home.
5. You burn bridges between generations, even though it's easier for you to find dialogue than in Russia.
6. All you can do is whine and write something on the internet.
7. You are unable to adapt.
8. You are uneducated, even though you have a good education.
9. You are stupid.
That is why we migrants will replace you. I am glad that there are many Ukrainians in Germany; they are really very intelligent people. However, you hate Ukrainians and other Slavs, even though they are better than the barbarians you deliberately brought in. And don't shift the blame onto your government; I'm not saying that I'm not to blame for the war or for my country becoming a dictatorial dump. You are simply pathetic.

I am not disagreeing with you, in many ways I agree. What I was trying to say is the West is LOSING empire status. We were once an empire but now fallen. Much like the USSR. In fact I'm an American who openly calls modern America the "USSA". So yes, I know our institutions are corrupted and a joke. I know first hand about communists allowing third world barbarians into our country, I know our 'educational' system is completely broken, I know younger generations cannot afford to own a home or make a decent living anymore, I know our country is drowning in endless debt that is destroying the purchasing power of our currency AND as far as Europe they are in far worse conditions than we are because, unlike the USSA, Europe does not have a global reserve currency. Europe will fall first, and eventually if America does not correct our problems soon we will too.

It is a corruption problem, a deep seeded corruption problem with the West. Our politicians and governments are systemically corrupted, top down. They no longer have a vested interest protecting civilians or our lives or economic realities. To them it is all about maintaining power and control, nothing else. They would rather see civilians die en mass than relinquish a minute fraction of power. That is the real problem we face today.
