I've been warning this for some time and people always thought I was a kook. Yes governments and their corporate interests are coming after online freedom, digital ownership and user anonymity. They want you to own nothing, forced to rent access for everything, age verification/digital ID rollout and AI surveillance of all users. Some states want to ban VPNs and California already passed laws to ban Linux and open source software. Yes it is that bad now! Of-course these politicians will eventually destroy the internet and force lots of us offline but they won't care. It's all about GREED and CONTROL. Corporations want money, governments want power. Use this opportunity while you still have it to backup whatever you desire or need while you can still access it. Have multiple offline copies of everything you want and need. Have bootable ISOs of your favorite operating systems. Have software. Media and entertainment. Buy external drives for storage. Buy physical media and necessary hardware to play that media too. Companies like Amazon are already coming up with schemes to replace physical storage and want to push people into using their cloud shit (which will be spied on, censored, under their full control). Don't let them do this to you. You have been warned.

Someday soon all the plebs who ignored this or who denied this threat even existed will wake up and be required to scan their state IDs or drivers licenses just to use a new computer they bought and to access social media. I feel as if most people are not taking this seriously at all. It's as if everyone is in a deep slumber walking off a cliff in total denial and ignorance. What was once rebellious common sense forums are now saturated with self-censorship and outright glowies attacking anyone who speaks out against digital IDs and the dangers posed to online privacy. Very few are righting this. I'll resist this to my dying days and have ISO backups of all my favorite operating systems including backup software. Media collections too. Maybe p2p/torrents will make a big comeback where we can all share our media and chat without being ID'd or relying on Big Tech firms. Who knows though. Maybe soon the internet might not even be usable for people like myself and we take all our shit offline and keep it for ourselves. Don't know anons, the future is up to you and how much bullshit you all put up with.
