Since gaming has been going digital only and woke this is probably one of the best solutions for future PC gamers to take back control. I'm looking forward to hackers and crackers leaking out a GTA6 rom in the future so people can simply download it, own it, play it right on their PC.

As long as Linux does not join the age verification (digital ID) bandwagon I'm fine with Linux distros too. I have multiple laptops and an older desktop PC, some having Linux distros on them, others having preactivated Windows 7 and Windows 10 bootlegs. I do this because it maximizes the amount of software I can use between operating systems, plus I like some of my computer experience to be more private so having an air-gapped Windows bootleg on a stripped down burner laptop is perfect, especially for storing personal info that I wish to keep off the internet altogether.

The older Mac OS X is great too, just do not update those older apple computers if you have any, apple will delete compatibility with all older apps if updated. I have an air-gapped Mac OS X as well, it's got all the classic media editing and creation software. I can still use it for creating/editing videos, music, artwork, converting media, ripping CDs and DVDs, etc.

Someone mentioned Tiny11 is good too. No registration needed, a free basic stripped down version of Windows 11.
