Back in the 1980s access to media was far more expensive and limited. Although the quality of entertainment was far superior than today, not everything was so "fake and gay" back then. Men were chewing bubble gum and kicking ass and women were flirting, parading their pantyhose, lipstick and mascara. Shows like Dallas comes to mind.

Imagine how fucking cool it would be if we still had the free market of the 1980s but the digital revolution of the internet at the same time. Forget just CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray. We could have advanced digital cassettes that could store 8TB worth of music and videos for various consoles connected to TVs and new stereo sets that could random shuffle your collections. DVD discs that could hold 2TB of data each. AI players that could scan your favorite movies and TV shows and make continuous new AI generated remakes. AI video game systems that generate new versions of your favorite games and you could burn them to discs. All kinds of really cool stuff.

But no..... gotta use AI and technology to kill people in wars and spy on all of us instead! Fucking governments suck.

Would be awesome but cannot happen under such a centralized hyper-controlled over-regulated economy where the top 1% control nearly all capital and investment. Monopolized markets like we have today drastically reduce consumer choice and available options and often restrict alternative forms of innovation.

People were far more "alive" back then, far more chill and optimistic about their future. Today most people seem dead and depressed and broken.

The women were often hotter too. I loved the curly bushy 80s hair style, they looked magnificent, it was authentic to that era and totally rocked. Now days you look at many women, they are fat, nose rings make them look like mad cows, multi-color dyed hair often indicates having terrible mental disorders, expectations are way too high today, overly bossy cannot chill out at all, eyes glued to their gadgets half the time, it's really sad what has become of our dying country. It makes me very happy I'm getting old.
