How do you handle the anxiety when leaving home? I'm afraid of being seen. the news always reports random stabbings. Who's to say I won't be next? I know it's an extreme thought, but I can't help it. and 'just do it' advice doesn't work for me
I do my best to stay away from cities and when I go out I always conceal carry a small NAA pocket revolver that chambers .22 Winchester Magnum. I am polite as can be... but don't ever mistake that as being a pacifist. ;)

I posted this comment elsewhere, sorry about that, fucking web browser is acting up.

I'm guessing this person lives somewhere in Europe or Britain which has no 2nd Amendment rights to self-defense and is surrounded by third world Africans and radicalized male Muslims. Very sad the West has such treasonous hostile corrupt governments today, they are making countries like China look decent and humane.

I used to feel that way, but I moved to a big city and I grew out of it. I mean I'm always on alert, but more in a "best practices" way, I'm not terrified that somebody's gonna come up behind me I'm just aware that it's a very low possibility.

Maybe pay less attention to the news, and more attention to your surroundings. The news only reports when there are stabbings (for example), not where there AREN'T stabbings. If they news reported every interaction where somebody DIDN'T get stabbed, I mean, you'd never even notice the stabbings.

Instead, look around you and see that everybody around you are just other people living their lives and also not wanting to be stabbed. Like I said, this helps when you live in a densely populated area because you get such a larger sample.

It really depends the areas of the cities you go to. Most areas are still relatively safe but you never want to walk into shady areas or high crime neighborhoods at night and obviously, demographics has a lot to do with it. Be careful and very vigilant in any area having over 20% black or Muslim population. If it's over 50% just stay away, consider them ghettos/ no-go zones. If you are living in an area that is increasing less white you should consider moving if you can afford to. I know this is far less an option for most younger generations due to the costs of housing though. So it's not always a solution anymore. The other solution is concealed carry but that does come with risk. Self-defense these days can still get you into trouble with the law in some cities and states. You can thank your politicians and the corrupted courts for that, btw.
