Drinking turns some people off perhaps, but all of my friends, at least back in the day, were all very heavy drinkers. When I was young drinking was normalized by media and society, it's just what average Americans did when socializing and having fun. It was not frowned upon at all, much like smoking in the 1950s it was actually promoted and glorified, drinking was advertised. I still have friends and family members that drink just maybe not as much as I currently still do. Luckily I am a functional alcoholic, I don't drink 24/7, just pretty much every other night but a lot of booze when I do.
I do keep in contact with people I know often, it just seems everyone is so busy these days. Everyone has to work even though many are over retirement age. Some are too busy still raising families or helping raise a family when both parents have to work multiple jobs. Almost makes me kinda feel guilty in a way that I have so much spare time on my hands. I was dealt a pretty good set of cards in life and inheritance helped me a lot. Maybe I should cut back on the booze and you should cut back on the screen time, probably would do both of us some good.
