> Former Tour de France fourth-placed Emanuel Buchmann has settled accounts with his former racing team Bora-hansgrohe. In the last two years, he “didn't have much fun” and was also “relatively screwed over”, said the 32-year-old professional cyclist, who now rides for the French Cofidis team.
> Buchmann left the German World Tour team at the end of 2024 after ten years. A dispute had previously arisen when the tour specialist was not nominated for the Giro d'Italia. At the time, Buchmann had complained that he had been promised the co-leader role, which team boss Ralph Denk had rejected. In the end, the climbing specialist did not ride any of the big three tours.
> "I wasn't happy for the last two years, and the mood wasn't so good either. When I extended my contract for three years in 2021, I was convinced that this was the best way for me to continue, but in hindsight I would have preferred to switch two years earlier," added Buchmann, who started his eighth Tour de France on Saturday.
