these stages rarely get good before the last hour
> too much climbing and descending for long range attacks and fast small groups
> long descents kwak most solo breakaway efforts over a mountain
> strong gc groups set a pace thats fast enough to be draining for everyone

lemme guess
> all according to plan guys! Campy randomly attacking for no reason and no gain is exactly how we will defeat pogacar!

What kind of happenings had you set your hopes up for?
> breakaway fight for win
> Visma tries to attack but obviously they aren't even close to dropping Pogi
> Pogi attacks and only Jonas can follow
Seems like we got exactly what we expected from today. Hautacam is a more probable stage for Pogacar dopage display because that's one of the few places he has lost to Jonas in the past.

Don't know what did Jorj do but I really can't get what is clearly visible and available, this is it for me shits in the current form for today, or for now.

more seasonal for the la vuelta innit?
anyway keep up posted with progress pics and vid clips
wanna see how freakin huge, thick, solid, and tight your sandwitches can get. thanks for the motivation

Sandwitches were a FUCKING disaster, went thru 5 eggs, 1 was spoiled, the other were just watery or something. Threw them all out.
The chickens better be wagecucking properly and delivering proper eggs or there will be consequences.

 >>/26586/
With the eggs crisis, I usualy buy a lot at the same time when they are discounted and they probably overstate their welcome. When I buy 3x30 eggs, some of them might be here for more than a month. And I suppose you're supposed to be rotating them every now and then but I don't do that.

In my book, if Pogacar hates the Visma team, it's because they're funny without needing to overdo their image to be so (this applies especially to Jorgenson, though, and Tadej seems to particularly dislike him).

Extremely comfy.

 >>/26653/
Yes, it was cool especially considering my body temp but it was relatively warm for a rain, together with a decent water drop size it made a pleasant, comfy experience - at least until my regular Adolf Dassler t-shirt made by tiny paki hands started getting soaked.

So I was at a station and I saw some crazy boomer on an ebike going under the barriers which were already descending, and then plunging himself into two lanes of traffic ok the road next to the tracks, all at 500 km/h. Why are they like this and how the FUCK did they manage to stay alive for so long

 >>/26675/
they are not replacing cars at large anyways, buddies of mine work in traffic engineering and they say that car traffic in my place hasn't changed or rather even increased a bit over the past decade. Ebikes for transportation are mostly used by people who don't drive cars anyways especially the illegal ones
Shit just shouldn't exist at all, fucking gay ass unlicensed moped shit has only been fucking with real cyclists quality of life

back from my evening ride. colder temperatures make the high humidity somewhat bearable. fox fren vanished into the corn fields before I could take a pic. Is it true what that dopeur Mercx and some others have said that if you dont have a positive upperleg to lowerleg ratio dont even bother to get into competitive cycling?

36, 72 kg, strong upperbody, broad shoulders. FTP i dont know because no powermeter but i guess around 300 looking at my rides with friends. I dont ever want to race but my relative short legs, shorter femur bone make me wonder if im not riding at a physical disadvantage due to what Mercx said about femur bone lenght/hinge

 >>/26763/
you're riding at a physical disadvantage due to broad shoulders and upperbody
that being said get a powermeter, you're probably much weaker than you think and likely can make very quick and easy gains but its hard to do that if you don't have anything to pace hard efforts with

no idea that doesn't seem to be something anyone has ever studied or at least I never heard anything about it and I've been trying to read about everything cycling science related.
As a rule of thumb its always a good idea to ignore everything oldfags say because its all based on nothing but their imagination and as we all know pro cyclists are literal retards with only a few exceptions. They've been wrong about almost everything from nutrition to tires to training to handlebars to gearing to race tactics, man that covers almost everything kek.
Off the top of my head I think there are some top tier pros with rather short legs like cav and scaleb at least they always looked short legged to me. Arguably it should be a lot easier to ride in an aero position with short femurs as well

 >>/26773/
alright but the idea of having better leverage by a long upper leg ratio to lower leg seems plausible to me. Also when i look around at the very good amateurs they often seem to have extremely thin and long upperlegs (besides virtually no upperbody to speak off offcourse)

 >>/26773/
Good post btw. Riding aero like Memco on me roadbike does seem to come quite easy to me compared to friends who have been cycling for much longer. In fast group rides i often ride whole periods in 'puppy paw pose' to keep up

Arguably being MASSIVE like bert over there is even worse for flats than climbing because it greatly increases your cda for no gain and that'll cost you a ton of watts at very high speeds while + a few kg is much easier to stomach. I mean shit what does it matter for a non pro but its a misconception that anything but being a twig is viable for going fast. It's a leeks world and benoots body is peak performance as dire as that may be

 >>/26777/
as far as endurance sports goes cycling is probably the most inclusive towards different bodytypes. compare to marathon running for example where every single runner has a absurd leg length proportion. i wouldn't be surprised if the most important performance effect of body morphology is aerodynamics, and only a very minor role in power output.

 >>/26807/
I always see very diverse groups of people with tattoos going on gravel runs and taking breaks at hipster food trucks. You nearly can't go anywhere without bumping into them here

 >>/26807/
> you HAVE to buy these UNIQUE shoes which look exactly like regular running shoes but slightly longer, and they can fit out custom, grippy wider sole
> buy them QUICK, you want to be an early adopter so you can look down on everyone, think of yourself as a knower who everyone secretly admires

And yeah, gravel bike rollout totally wasn't a marketing ploy and psyop.
I'm shure none of the consultant names sounded like a -berg, -stein or a simple Cohen.

Gravel bikes stroke gold because they are actually pretty nice for a few set of people but then normies are buying 3k bikes for their 6km commute

> Tronchon
That tro bro win is probably the most impressive ride of the year outside of grug and pogi. A shame we'll never see something like that again from him

 >>/26805/
aerodynamics in what sense? Slippery skin?
To me it seems like guys like Pog and Milan are aero like a brick house. Memco is a good example of someone who can fold himself to a conserable advantage tho it seems, but i guess it wouldnt mean much if he didnt have a considerable engine to use in that position.
I dont wanna name names of Dutch top amateurs but many seem to have this certain body type, long, skinny, remarkably skinny and long upper legs especially and a childlike upperbody.
I did boxing for a while and was naturally pretty good at it even though i was a retard in remembering certain combos. Im not saying femur to shinbone ratio is the end all be all but im wondering if the opposite, short femur to shinbone ratio isnt a like those top dutch amateur riders trying boxing. Try hard as they might its difficult to see them overcoming their genetic upperbody lackage compared to a short broad guy like me with long arms.
Also Mercx basically said short femur to shinbone ratio guys never stood a chance due to leverage problems. But maybe he was just talking shit while on dopage

 >>/26822/
> aerodynamics in what sense
remco for example has his little t-rex arms and shoulders which help contribute to his small TT position, even if it has little effect on his power output it reduces his profile and the reverse would have the opposite effect.
> long, skinny, remarkably skinny and long upper legs especially and a childlike upperbody
probably just due to optimizing for cycling and the muscle development that brings about.

FIRST MEDICAL UPDATE DROPPED TIM WELLENS CONFIRMS SMALL SCRATCH WOUNDS

Tim Wellens comes with first update on fallen Pogacar: "It could have been much worse"

Just a touch of a rear wheel and the Tour can be over just like that. Luckily that didn't happen to Tadej Pogacar.

The defending champion did slide across the asphalt, but seemed spared any serious injuries.

"Tadej only has some scrapes," was the first update from teammate Tim Wellens. "But I think all in all he came away from it OK. It could have been a lot worse."

"He told me he was sliding toward a brush, but he didn't hit it."

In the end, the world champion didn't lose any time either because his competitors decided to wait. "That's super nice. I heard there was great fair play. That's great to hear."

"You never know what the consequences are after a crash," UAE team boss Mauro Gianetti told me. "But he was able to jump back on his bike almost immediately and the peloton waited. That was a great sign of respect. We take our hat off to them. But for Tadej, fortunately, it doesn't seem to be too bad, although we were scared for a while."

Although, of course, it remains to be seen how the world champion spends the night. Tomorrow, with the stage to Hautacam, one of the key stages in this Tour is scheduled.

> For a moment, it looked like Pogacar might lose time, but the favorites group decided not to speed up. "We collectively chose to wait as a group. I think that's the sporting decision," says Jorgenson.
> "After the uproar of the past few days, where he accused us of unsportsmanlike actions—something I've never heard him say before—he can now trust that we want to beat him in a sporting manner," the American cautiously criticized the three-time Tour de France winner.

fucking hell this guy is a great asshole teammate to have

> Van Aert, who finished fifth in Toulouse, emphasizes that he had to give a lot in the first two hours of the race. "Mathieu had a lot of teammates controlling the race, so he came into the breakaway a little bit fresher," said the Belgian.

> "I'm terribly sorry for what happened to Tadej Pogacar," he said on X. "I tried to follow a breakaway, and I now see I was too close. I thought everyone would swerve to the right, but I made a mistake and I want to apologize again. I hope he's doing as well as possible after such a crash."

> "Of course, I'd like to do it again and handle it differently, but I can't. That feels awful, but I wouldn't wish the number of threats I'm receiving in my inbox on anyone. I'm terribly sorry, but I'm also afraid of the hatred from all those people. This feels very frightening."

> A Kind Gesture: Tadej Pogačar's UAE teammate Pavel Sivakov spotted outside the UNO-X team bus this morning, sharing breakfast with the Norwegian-Danish team. Congratulating first-time stage winner Jonas Abrahamsen, he also made amends with Tobias Halland Johannessen, seemingly forgiving the 25 year old for causing Pogačar to crash near the end of yesterday's stage. In a heartwarming display of sportsmanship that included a large amount of close contact and constant offerings of food from Sivakov, it seems that any questions of bad blood between Halland Johannessen and the UAE camp have been put to bed.

True question, why is motor pacing still so important in this sport. They did some things for few races (san remo comes to mind) but yesterday was pretty bad

> Wout van Aert's involvement in breakaways and chasing stage wins is something he doesn't approve of. Former rider and team manager Bjarne Riis, in his analysis for Danish newspaper BT Sport, criticized Visma-Lease a Bike's tactics, and Van Aert's in particular. After yesterday's stage, in which Van Aert finished fifth, Riis stated: "It's no surprise that Van Aert attacks like that, but I think it's completely wrong. You can't say you want to win the Tour de France and then let your domestiques waste their energy like this. Visma-Lease a Bike jeopardizes the bigger goal. I have a problem with that."
Straightforward. Although, it's questionable whether you can pigeonhole a rider like Van Aert as a 'domestique'. Someone of his caliber also wants to win trophies himself. "We agree that Van Aert is a special rider," said Riis. "But he hasn't shown that yet in this Tour. He's not as strong as a few years ago." This isn't the first time that Van Aert's attacking spirit has been criticized by the Danish side. A few days ago, Riis already said that Van Aert "races like an amateur." And just before the Tour started, Trine Hansen, Jonas Vingegaard's wife, also stated in an interview that our compatriot is too focused on his own success.
Danes HATE him
