As I said, Pogacar does not like Roglic.
He told the team to take risks and get him even before the last climb starts.

Pogacar let Arens go and could have even won the stage even within the last 500m, but chose to not do so.

 >>/31426/
so basically he says vingegaard shouldn't do anything because he risk being countered, while being second in GC and having 0 stage wins
it wouldn't annoy me so much if he didn't give an interview after every stage saying the tour isn't over I will go all out

> "It was close, but unfortunately we didn't win," Grischa Niermann, Head of Racing at Visma-Lease a Bike, told Wielerflits.

> "Our plan? Follow, because we were sure UAE and Tadej would go for the stage."

> "It wasn't possible to make up 4:30 today. We wanted to win, and this was the way to beat Tadej, to make him work."

> "But he clearly wanted to win too, and they miscalculated. Hats off to Thymen and Ineos."

 >>/31430/
> Visma-Lease a Bike was therefore only thinking about the daily victory today. "If the stage had been longer, we would have tried something else. But it was clear it was going to be very difficult."

> "Look at Primoz Roglic. He made a good effort, but paid a heavy price on the final climb. Turning the Tour upside down would have been difficult."

> For the first time, Visma-Lease a Bike seemed to abandon its three-week plan. "We've tried to go for a stage win before. This was simply the tactic we had planned for today."

 >>/31472/
Yeah and there doesn't seem to be anyone on the horizon who can do that. Maybe someone like Seixas in 3-4 years or some other yet to be discovered zoomer freak. I'm not sure he even cares about a triple GT season either, he was bored to visibly bored to death after week 1 of the Giro already, can't see him "suffering" through this three times a year.

 >>/31502/
And take that clown with him? better have Arensman win it than even risk 1% of the fish winning besides if Jonas wanted to win he could've taken a turn instead of riding like he's defending GC with a couple of minutes

 >>/31503/
It's weird how you're simultaneously aware and unaware that Pogačar is a better climber and a much better puncheur than Vingegaard.
Pogačar has dropped Vingegaard every single time he wanted to in the final meters of a climb. If he was his usual self, there was literally no risk of losing with an attack shortly before the finish.

Like Tadej, I am a bit tired right now, but still we must continue with another /WORLD TOUR WINE/ !!

The Tour concludes in the high French Alps, and today's bottle is a bottle cobbled together from multiple vineyards in Savoie. The producer is a network of vignerons that buy organic/biodynamic grapes from across France and then vinify in a minimally-interventionist fashion.

Les Équilibristes Borboyon 2022 ($28)

The grape is Jacquere blended with 2% Altesse.

Pours a pale straw with light/medium body. The nose is restrained, transparent with green apple, light grassy note, and soft oyster shell minerality. The palate is super clean, with just the lightest apple and minerality, slightly oxidative finish.

This is super refined for a biodynamic wine, just crystal clear Alpine style. Nice. If you like Muscadet, this is sort of in that style.

I got a Goretex shakedry race jacket. Probably the best bit of kit I own. It's so good, and fits in a back pocket. Unfortunately they don't make it anymore. Extremely unhelpful answer, soz. Overshoes I have some crap ones that keep me sorta-dry for half an hour, then get very wet. It feels like a losing battle by design considering the massive holes you need to have in overshoes. The real solution for Those Days is probably waterproof shoes, but that feels like a bit much. Haven't really considered bibs, I suppose my winter bibs have some rain protection but don't think it amounts to much. Mostly I'll avoid rain like the plague when it's cold, and in normal weather, wet legs aren't a big deal.

 >>/31616/
I'm afraid my English isn't good enough to describe the taste but in general raw fish/ sea food is the best. The texture is a bit gily but the taste is very fresh and slightly salty. In general if I have good fish I'll try to eat it as raw as possible

 >>/31613/
> Unfortunately they don't make it anymore
bummer, the reviews of this jacket are unisono 9/10 or 10/10 - but found a good and cheaper replacement, GOREWEAR Endure also has very good rating and I don't need a race fit, its more for bikepacking/super long rides with potential hours in the rain

Finally smartening up a bit. Get rid of that nonsense

 >>/31592/
I do, and I have never found anything that works, so I don't bother and simply wear normal winter kit. I live in the PNW however and our rain is more like the entire ocean being poured over you, so perhaps rain gear works in normal rain.

Is Groves one of the 4-5 guys who will stay with Alpecin after this season? Saw an article yesterday about basically everyone but grug, jasper, grosso and 1-2 other guys leaving.

first time looking at TDFF profiles - honestly like the stage designs, seems they tried hard to avoid wiebeswinslol and volleringwinslol, I honestly prefer the smaller mountains if it allows for more tactical riding because if not vollering will just drop everyone. still likely a lot of these stages go as expected but I think they did a good job of trying to make a competitive and interesting koers

> Van Aert didn't play for the stage win, but he has one more chance at a stage win in the final stage. This year's final stage to Paris will climb the Butte Montmartre three times, and Van Aert is expected to win it. "I'm eager to give it another try tomorrow. I'm much more motivated than before. I've occasionally gotten into a bunch sprint. That worked out once, but otherwise, they were always easy sprints. Now, with Montmartre, it's more of a classic, although it will be a short, explosive race. But it suits me."
> I hope Pogacar doesn't interfere—even if it's for personal reasons. To be honest, he doesn't look very motivated anymore. Although a lot will depend on the weather.

How kwabed do you have to be to beg for pogi not to try

Anyway
> got rained on not once, not twice, not thrice but four fucking times
> abandoned my attempt for distance record because of thunderstorms
> had to fix d*sc brakes AGAIN in the field
> my rear deraileur is acting all uppity, can't shift to two smalls cogs, shifting is not accurate at all, i fear the cable might be on its last leg. that's a disaster, i never replaced that one. it might just be indexing but that's probably hopium.
but at least the schnitzel was great

> Elise Chabbey competed at the 2012 London Olympics as a slalom canoer. She finished 20th in the women's K-1 event.

So rejects from other sports can just casually become cyclists.
Maybe I should have tried going pro if all these washout can do it.

Got caught by rain again, not saying I wasn't looking forward to it.
Very comfy. There will be only the need to paypig for full rain/winter covers, those softshell or just the tips won't do.

I don't remember how it works over there, I remember getting in as a non-client minority (i.e. run of the mill European White) is difficult, becoming a citizen even more difficult. Unless that spouse bullshit works for Euros too.

> Visma | Lease a Bike will strengthen its 2026 squad with Anton Schiffer, multiple sources told WielerFlits. The nearly 26-year-old German joins from the German Continental team Bike Aid. He has only been competing at the third level for two years, having competed as a triathlete until 2022.

grim

 >>/32001/
Schiffer had an excellent performance at the German NC namely he sucked all the wheels and managed to podium that way, outlasting greats such as SCHACHMANN and BUCHMANN
but from what I can see he also had decent performances in Greece and Romania this season

 >>/32011/
I'm pretty sure he was just supposed to pull to keep the race together, even LAB isn't so retarded to think that a guy who comes straight from juniors and came from triathlon can perform as leadout in a hectic sprint at the highest level

 >>/32016/
I mean that's what they did at the start of the season

> And what a setup it was. Pietro Mattio, the young Italian normally racing for Visma | Lease a Bike’s development team, spent the entire day solo chasing a four-man breakaway. Later, it was Steven Kruijswijk’s job to keep the team at the front before Nikias Behrens and Dan McLay delivered a flawless lead-out for their sprinter. It wasn’t an easy task, especially considering Visma | Lease a Bike had lost one of its seven riders, Jorgen Nordhagen, to illness before the start, leaving them a man down.

 >>/32166/
dude should abandon everything and start his off season now, take the entirety of August off even and then start a slow build for the next season. Fucker gotta deliver at bora but we know he will fuck it all up again and start the season cooked because he's a retard

 >>/32182/
both
he's undertrained because he had to miss 12 weeks of training due to injury and overtrained because he trained 35 hours a week to make up time
remco is simultaneously under- and overtrained and also simultaneously injured and healthy because the injuries only exist in his mind

 >>/32185/
not that I know of I tried to find it through the usual tabloids but got nothing
