> "I already indicated during the Vuelta a España that I'd like to contest the Giro d'Italia, but it's not just up to me. It's also about what the team wants. Of course, I have my wishes, but we also have to look at it as a team and see what our goals will be for next season."

> Vingegaard and Visma | Lease a Bike still need to meet to discuss his 2026 racing schedule. It's not yet certain whether the 28-year-old Dane will actually make his debut in the Italian race next year, but we can expect Vingegaard to be back at the start of the Tour de France next year.

> "I think the Tour will still be the main goal," says the two-time Tour de France winner. "That will remain the case almost every year, as long as I can fight for the overall victory."

jesus just let the dude ride what he wants, Trine was right

Wahoo Headwind. It's a luxury for sure, but having it linked to my heart rate and never thinking about it is nice. It simply comes on when I put on the HRM and ramps up to full speed at 70% maxhr or above. Bought it used, which helps a bit.

that sounds really unhealthy and stupid
like, if its 0-5°C, raining, snowing and windy you're freezing and if its not cold you're not getting cooled enough. Look at the wind speeds that the vaxmaster or wahoo headwind can produce and keep in mind that you actually need that at max when you're pushing watts in the 300-500s and more
also imagine moving a computer and all that shit out there, seems like a massive headache not to mention why would you want everyone around you to see you on the raper when you're going hard, giga hard even

> How is Gigante coping now? "Some people feel compelled to send messages or comment on social media posts. It's not hard to spot hateful messages, but I always wonder: is it really necessary to send me a message?"

> "Not so long ago, I posted on social media, giving an update on my broken femur, but I also received some very nasty messages. Isn't that unnecessary? It's quite sad; I don't know what's wrong with these people."

> You know, I don't think I've ever received any unpleasant messages from women. I can't say for sure, of course, but they're all men. Which, by the way, I do want to emphasize that most male cycling fans are actually quite nice.

I don't think I missed anything. weather is too nice to not go for a ride.
sunny and 16°C spawns all kind of clothing choices. I saw everything from short-short to full winter gear. a gilet was enough for me to protect the core and still get some tan for the legs.

the UCI calendar article on PCS caught my eyes. there's a UCI race in India in January sirs.
> Pune Grand Challenge Tour
the change of the Czech tour has already been discussed. they aim to be world tour level in 2029 to correspond with Czechia becoming a world super power in that year.
other than that, o gran camino is now in April, because Jonas made the call.

Yes of course and actually that has happened with remco+skelly earlier this season, if the chase actually worked together on the flats they could probably do that in almost every race assuming pog gets no moto draft.
On a course like the EC even 4 or 5 mediocre riders could have at the very least halved the gap between each climb if they do short but rather hard pulls at the front.
But instead you get 2 guys pull with 200w for 10s or so, ayuso idk how much he did and remco pulled with the same watts that he would do if he rode entirely on his own as we've seen once he dropped the rats.

I get that everyone is hurting from the efforts up the climbs before pog drops them but I don't believe for a second that they can't pull that off after he gets his gap and they catch their breath, it's not like pog does 500w continuously when he goes for a 2+ hour solo, he rides tempo which of course is super fast but not over everyone else's limits.

too many teams also do unnecessary work
at this point nobody should reel in a breakaway except UAE
in fact if you don't try to force multiple of your team in the break these days you're retarded since you're signing up to lose anyway
why does someone like tiberi, piganzoli etc even stay in the peleton for 15th

They can at least try. You shouldn't have shit like today where 30 fucking guys sprinted for second place with the winner less than a minute up the road.

The problem is people don't want to throw away safe results...sure they can try to chase down Pog, but if they blow up and are caught by peloton, then they finish 50th instead of maybe a top 10. So they race for a top 10 instead of a win because that's what puts food on the table.

> The Andorra Cycling Masters will be launched on October 19th. The organizers have only secured four participants, but they are impressive names. Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Primoz Roglic, and Isaac del Toro will be competing.

> The Andorra Cycling Masters is not a UCI race, but that was not the intention of organizer David Quintana.

> The 4 participants will complete an 8km uphill time trial on the Coll de la Gallina, followed by a 32km race in the heart of Andorra la Vella.

> Suunto claims that Garmin is infringing on several patents held by the Finnish electronics manufacturer. This allegedly concerns both software and hardware. The patents allegedly relate to automatic shot detection during golf, breathing measurements, and the design of the antenna within the metal housings.
> With the legal battle, Suunto is seeking damages and an injunction prohibiting Garmin from selling products incorporating the aforementioned technology.

Poor burgerpaypig will have to send back his garmin to finance the lawsuits

> According to his father, Claude, Latour suffered a hematoma and bone damage from the collision. Initially, there were also fears of a broken arm, but that was later ruled out in the hospital. "He was badly damaged," his father said. "He fell and was in a lot of pain; he nearly lost consciousness."

> The collision comes at an unfortunate time for Latour. The Frenchman is out of contract for 2026, and the Chrono des Nations was to be his last race as a professional cyclist. "For Pierre, it feels like it's already over," said Claude Latour.

they call them gravel wheels but those are just road wheels, road internal/external width and normal road spoke count. Maybe the hubs are mtb hubs but there's not much reason for that 2bh. I doubt that the rims are super mega reinforced for hardcore offroading, those are just cheap rims. 'Gravel' wheelsets in general are usually just road wheelsets except for ultra wide rims that are super niche

 >>/49102/
well I have a set of xmcarbonspeed wheels that cost me 800€ with shipping weighting 1175g naked, 50mm with 26mm internal 34mm external width
and another set of 35mm wheels with that width that cost the same and weight like 1100g, because deep wheels look retarded with gravel tires.
I think 1100-1250g is normal for 700-1000€ wheels from the chinese. If you want brass nipples weight goes up a bit and if you want steel spokes you're probably at 1300g I reckon but that also makes the wheel cheaper.

this weekend there's also the UCI Gr*vel World Championships in Maastricht. let's see who participates and start with the girls as they appear first in the document:
Vos

gianni vermeersch

thomas champion(biciklet)
bert van lerberghe
stybar
mats omloop

and yes I ignored all American names, as they don't stand a chance.

just add a toothpick to make it look more artsy and add some bullshit words to your description, like you used buns made from corn flour and slightly roasted them, finest Swiss cheese, meat from Czech highland cows and your special secret sauce that is in your family for 200 years and has some extra spice in it.

Should have easily had 6 in if I wasn't too fixated on who gets top 5.
I think this was the biggest self-sabotage this years, focusing on guys who should win/podium and whiffing on expensive guys who maybe are not winning but they surely are top20ing at worst, probably top10ing.
Surely next year will be the year.

 >>/49266/
I think you get a good database that would be decent and covering most of the r but it would need a lot of extra columns besides raw data from a PCS or whatever.
It would be bad at outliers like a Mollemer but I bet it would optimize the backpack problem (put most stuff with limited amount of space or, for instance, get most points with the limited budget you have) for you so it would put in there Powless or Matthews, probably Christen too, it would surely list them high in EV before applying the backpack problem solution.
It also wouldn't just completely forget I have Barre picked and a shitload of points left to get someone better who is not on a downtrend, trends it would be especially good at.

 >>/49270/
Yes, that would be the most useful.
Get you your classical machine learning algo running on all your engineered features, do all the tuning needed and then look at all your heat maps and fancy plots but pick the guys yourself.
You can run the backpack optimization for shits but you'll probably be way better.
That would be basically cheating.

 >>/49315/
This is a weird situation. If it's about not supporting Israel why would he extend with them? After that one good Giro he had surely he could have found another team that would take him in. Sounds like bullshit.
But holy shit 30 million euros. Jews really like inflating numbers don't they.

 >>/49328/
It's obviously about getting a more lucrative contract at Ineos right now.
On the other side, the normie crowds have increasingly turned on Israel and jews in the last few months so it's not surprising some secluded pedalstomper feels more uncomfortable right now.

Anyway since the team is already dumping the Israel image and ousting uberjew Adams I have no doubt he'll now win whatever court case he's in.?

 >>/49327/
Yeah and I forgot to make Montreal team so would probably be top2/3 otherwise.
I dunno what it is with these autumn races that makes it so much easier for some reason. In the spring you're so eager and analytical, researching different riders, going for wild teams, and it always fails. But then in the autumn you can just trust your gut mostly. Like you see Hirschi on the start list for an Italian race? Put him in. UAE? Usually a good choice. But then in the warmup races and spring classics you have to choose random fuckers.

 >>/49353/
pour moi it's whichever t*bes are in stock at me local dealer
are you really burning through them so quickly that the minor discount is critical?
if so I know of a supplier in bohemia with about nine extras for sale, just so long as you don't have any strict valve stem length requirements

To any berts periodically struggling with saddle sores even with a good saddle and fit, try this Hibiwash scrub. My coach suggested it and it's been a gamechanger for me, not a single sore in a month. Used to get them quite often after a race or a long sweaty heat session, but now I just wash my genital area with that after a ride and it just seems to keep the bacteria/fungus situation at hold so that nothing gets a chance to develop further.

let's read the femmes 2026 UCI race article on pcs.
first, Respect Ladies Race Slovakia won't be happening anymore. femmes Dwarfs and The Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Cup Women's Tour of Thailand will be promoted to WWT and 2.1 respectively.
femmes giro will be moved to May and like the Vuelta get 1 additional stage. and the Princess Anna Vasa Tour till Polen will be back on the calendar after this years hiatus.
I think the Maryland Cycling classics being turned into a stage race has been mentioned before, the jolly people of Baltimore who complained about traffic disruption on a Sunday will sure love 2 more days of disruptions, although I assume and hope they will feature the full extent of Maryland from Cumberland to Ocean City.

> Wiggins won the Tour de France in 2012 and is a five-time Olympic champion. However, he didn't exactly treat those gold medals with respect. "Millions of people were cheering me on, in the stadium or at home. One of the greatest moments of London 2012. And there I was, in my dressing room, snorting cocaine off a gold medal. I was making a joke of my performance."

> "A bit like peeing on someone's grave," he admitted. "Well, at that moment, I peed on my own. The gold medal, the Tour... I couldn't care less. The person I was in Paris and London was dead to me."

> There was a time when the Brit lived in a hotel for two weeks and was constantly on drugs, snorting up to 120 grams. "I don't know how I'm still alive. I prefer not to think about it too much." In a previous interview, Wiggins had already said: "There were times my son thought I'd be found dead in the morning. People didn't realize it, but I was high almost constantly for years."

> It even got so bad that his children, Isabella and Ben, tried to send him to rehab. "In a fit of rage, I once smashed my trophy for Sports Personality of the Year (2012). In front of my children. So it wasn't surprising that they considered it."

he will literally say anything except that he doped while on team sky, he'll never be free from his thoughts

Anyhow how was your pre-Lomardia ride /cyc/? For me 6x4min low cadence, legs failed at the final one after 2.5min. Next up some rest and then next weekend some testing to see if this meme delivered any improvements.

for me it's the super industrialised and urban sprawled flat part of Italy that suffers from endless fog during the winter months and humidity and heat during the summer months. but yes I'm aware, there's lot of nice corners and cities around, but it ain't Tuscany for sure.
