I paypigged some winter clothes as well, hope they are good enough so I will actually do an outdoor ride once per week. The ones I bought earlier were good for 0-5 degree weather but for proper minus degrees I needed warmer bib tights and a better base layer.
I can't do what you rapists do but man, these morning shop runs with a poor man's "intervals" between intersections are glorious, especially in the winter.
People can just do it and they don't, there's no reason to be alive if you can't do pedal.
Hope having a family won't derail that, remote wagie life helps a lot.

I have seen a bober again yesterday, at least it had the decency to dip into the water as soon as it was clear someone is getting close, not like that fat ass on saturday, completely ignoring my substantial presence, in my biggest jacket.
> "During our December camp, there's never really a clear plan," says Politt, who swapped the then BORA-hansgrohe for UAE Emirates in the winter of 2023-2024. "Some teams do team time trial training, some do lead-outs. With us, it's just full throttle."

> And by "full throttle," the German really means full throttle. "I remember a training ride from last year where I looked at the data afterward. The numbers were exactly the same as in the Tour of Flanders, where I finished third (in 2024, ed.). And this was during a training session."

Why don't other teams just train harder?

Kolie from Empirical Cycling talks how he started out as a 1200W sprinter and managed to improve about 100W per season by focusing on dedicated sprint training and gym. His best numbers are in the low 2000W's I think, transitioned into a track sprinter because he wasn't good aerobically.

Don't really know, but maybe? Probably? I almost never do anything sprint-like outside, but I did some long-standing PB numbers outdoors a few years ago at a time where my indoor numbers were way lower. I'm somewhat terrified I'll drop my chain or unclip at the worst possible time and heem myself brutally as certain other berts have done for no real gain. At this point I'd probably have to retrain my form for outdoors sprinting also.

I think a lot. I've never really trained sprinting apart from doing them at the end of Zwift races and I just added roughly 5% on top by just a few weeks of vo2 and sprint workouts. Not even any gym work.
