There's an app called probike garage for this my friend has vouched. I just use strava/excel and vibes – around a week of use per chain for my hours (400m ish).

I switched to hot wax last year, not going back. Keeps it even cleaner and lasts longer and is faster.

I also hotwax, but in-between hotwaxxing I just squirt that stuff on and keep the chain going for probably 1000km

Yeah my friends do similarly, and I suppose it's a nice compromise.

Fairweather chads don't need to worry about such things as waxxing (I clean my chain once every 2 weeks on my commuter)
