Chris Cornell Wife Says No Signs of Suicidal Thoughts
http://www.tmz.com/2017/05/18/chris-cornell-suicide-death-wife/

Chris Cornell was not depressed or in a suicidal state the evening he died ... this according to his wife.

Sources who spoke with Chris' wife Thursday morning tell TMZ, Vicky Cornell spoke with her husband during soundcheck before he took the stage in Detroit and after Wednesday night's show. According to our sources, Vicky says Chris was NOT in any way, shape or form in a suicidal state. She doubled down and said there were no signs he was at all depressed.

We're told Vicky tried reaching Chris in his hotel room early Thursday morning but he was not answering. She became concerned and asked someone to call hotel security. That's when Chris' body was discovered.

Vicky told people Thursday morning he was devoted to his kids -- ages 16, 12 and 11 -- and she didn't believe he would take his life.

That said, law enforcement says Chris' death is an apparent suicide, which raises the question about whether he'd fallen off the wagon.

The last words of Soundgarden suicide victim Chris Cornell were revealed tonight as sources disclosed he died within 60 minutes of leaving a concert stage.
Cornell was said to have behaved 'absolutely normally' spending several minutes with fans and warmly greeting them.
The 52-year-old told fans 'I love you' as he was escorted from the front of the Motor City's Fox Theatre from a door near the main box office.

He wished them luck, posed for selfie photographs and told some he would see them in Columbus, Ohio - where his band were due to perform Friday night.

Last stage: Cornell and his bandmates in Soungarden before at the show just hours before he was found dead
Still clothed in his performance t-shirt and jeans, he emerged from the Fox Theater 25 minutes after coming off stage at around 11pm with band mates including co-founder Kim Thayll.

It was around 11.25pm that Soundgarden were escorted out of the Fox Theater after their sell out concert.
The group were whisked off together to the MGM Grand Hotel in a mini-bus.
The hotel is behind the theatre and less than half-a-mile away.
Cornell gave no clue of his torment and appeared 'absolutely normal' said a member of his security team.
He seemed happy and glad to meet fans.

So you're telling me that they left the concert at 11:25pm and he's dead at 12:05am?

So let's say he checked in at 11:30pm after a short minibus ride. He doesn't pour himself a drink, he doesn't take a shower, first thing he does is get out an elastic band and hang himself?

First thing he does after getting off stage is choose one of the most painful methods of suicide?

No heroine? No calling his loved ones? Concert went so badly that he's like:

Nope that performance sucked hard, time to end it. Be Anhero.

Sounds like some major horse shit.

Sounds more like he got ambushed as he entered the hotel suite, strangled to death, dragged into the bathroom and finished off. I want to see the Closed Circuit Security video footage from the hotel.

After marrying Vicky, Cornell converted to Greek Orthodox. As the Hollywood Greek Reporter noted in 2009, Christopher Nicholas was baptized by Greek singer Anna Vissi at the Saint Sophia Orthodox church in Los Angeles.

“I wanted to be married (to Vicky) in the Greek Church. I was baptized Catholic and went to a Catholic school,” Cornell told the Enquirer. “There was something about the Greek Orthodox Church that resonated with my childhood—there was something fresh and exciting about it.”

Greece became such a major part of Cornell’s life that he was in the country just last month to visit a refugee camp, notes the Mirror. Cornell and Vicky set up a charity in Athens and visited Eleonas Camp with his family and the International Rescue Committee.

Also No Suicide Note

The guards, who were dressed in blue, accompanied the band to the hotel and they arrived within minutes.Cornell went to his room and shortly afterwards his wife raised the alarm. Security forced his hotel room door open after she became concerned about his safety.
Cornell was found dead shortly after midnight, an hour after the final number in front of a capacity 5,200 fans. There were also additional fans allowed into standing room only areas. The police investigation will focus on what happened in the hour after the show ended and who he spoke with.
An initial autopsy showed he hung himself and was found on the bathroom floor with a 'band' around his neck.

Chris added these words into the song Slaves And Bulldozers during his final song:
In my time of dying, I want nobody to mourn. All I want for you to do is take my body home. Well, well, well, so I can die easy.
His wife Vicky says he showed no signs he was feeling suicidal or even depressed when she spoke to him, during soundcheck and after his final show on Wednesday night, sources told TMZ.
But she became concerned after failing to reach him at the hotel and alerted a friend.
He asked the theater's security staff, who were outside his room, to force the door to his room and they discovered his body fully clothed on the floor about 12.05am.
His fellow band members have helped police by agreeing to be interviewed, but are 'reeling' at their friend's suicide.
Police spokesman Michael Woody told DailyMail.com: 'We are doing everything to look into this death.

There is absolutely no motive at this stage for this suicide. But we hope to be able to bring closure for his family and his fans as soon as possible.
He said Cornell had left no suicide note, but would not comment on questions of whether any drugs are found next to Cornell's body or in his room.
Hours before his death, Cornell posted a link to his band's performance of By Crooked Steps, with the lyrics 'I'm the shape of the hole inside your heart.'
The song which also features the lyrics, 'not looking for a brighter side... I don't care if you want to cry' was unusually dark for Soundgarden with drummer Matt Cameron once remarking on how it was such a 'serious' song.
Lyrics also include 'I'm a ghost and a healer' and 'When blood is raining down, it cuts a deep deep river, ' it continues.
He also chose a dark song about to end his gig with on Wednesday.

Devastated fans have shared the band's setlist online, writing that the final song of the night was their song, Slaves And Bulldozers.
Cornell's representative, Brian Bumbery, called Chris's passing 'sudden and unexpected' and said his wife and family were shocked by it.
The statement said the family would be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause and asked for privacy.
Chris, who famously sang the song, You Know My Name, for James Bond movie Casino Royale, was married to Vicky Karayiannis for 13 years, and they are parents to Toni, 12 and Christopher, 11.
The Grammy award-winning, Golden Globe nominated singer also started the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation to support children facing poverty and abuse.

Chris Cornell: Police Report Details Singer's Final Hours

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/chris-cornell-police-report-details-singers-death-w483238

Singer, in phone call to wife before suicide, slurred his words, admitted to taking too much anxiety medicine and repeated "I am just tired"

A police report from the investigation into the death of Chris Cornell has revealed new details regarding the singer's suicide.

According to the report, obtained by the Detroit News, Cornell had a troubling telephone conversation with his wife Vicky in the hour before his death where he admitted to taking "an extra Ativan or two" and was slurring his words, reiterating Vicky Cornell's separate statement Friday morning.

The police report also fleshed out the timeline of what transpired from the time Soundgarden's Detroit concert ended to the time the singer was found dead in his hotel room's bathroom.

Soon after Soundgarden's concert ended, at 11:30 p.m., Cornell's bodyguard Martin Kirsten said he accompanied the singer to his hotel room to help fix his computer and give him two Ativan "which victim takes for anxiety," the police report states.

Soon after, Cornell and Vicky spoke on the phone, with the singer slurring his words, admitting he may have taken too much Ativan and repeatedly saying I am just tired before abruptly hanging up'.

Following that conversation, Vicky Cornell called Kirsten to check on her husband. Despite having the key to Cornell's room, Kirsten couldn't open the door because it was latched. Kirsten then called hotel security, who told the bodyguard that they could not let him in the room because he wasn't authorized to enter it.

Despite security's refusal to assist, Kirsten then kicked open Cornell's hotel door. The bedroom door was also latched, so the bodyguard again called hotel security before ultimately kicking open that door. Upon inspecting the bathroom, Kirsten found Cornell "laying on the bathroom floor" with blood running down his mouth and a red exercise band around his neck.

According to TMZ, Cornell fastened the band to a carabiner that had been lodged into the doorframe, leaving indentation marks.

Just before 1 a.m., paramedics entered Cornell's room, removed the band from his neck and attempted CPR on the singer, who was not breathing. A doctor who later came to the scene pronounced Cornell dead at 1:30 a.m.

No conspiracy, just bad perscription medicine, sleep deprevation, depression, and rash action.

That's too bad. But no conspiracy here, unless more information emerges.

Chris Cornell became An Hero. R.I.P.

CHRIS CORNELL Manager On Singer's Suicide: "It's Incredibly Bizarre"
http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/chris-cornell-manager-on-singers-suicide-its-incredibly-bizarre/

Chris Cornell's longtime manager, Ron Laffitte, says that the SOUNDGARDEN fronman "must have been out of his right mind" to have committed suicide just hours after performing with the band in Detroit on May 17.

The singer was pronounced dead on May 18 after being found unresponsive in his Detroit hotel room.

A full autopsy and results of toxicology tests are pending, although Cornell's wife has said he may have taken more of an anti-anxiety drug than he was prescribed. His family issued a statement last week questioning whether his death by hanging was intentional and if "substances contributed to his demise."

Speaking to CNN, Laffitte said: "Nobody saw this coming, his bandmates didn't see this coming. It's totally out of character for the Chris that I've known and worked with for the last ten years. It's incredibly bizarre. I have to think that something threw him off the tracks ... he must have been out of his right mind."

Laffitte told CNN that he last spoke to Cornell on the afternoon of his death when they discussed plans for Chris to perform at the 2017 Global Citizens Music Festival this September in New York. "He was just really excited about this specific idea that we were going to do," Laffitte recalled. "He said, 'We aren't just going to make pop history with this one, brother. We are going to make real history.' I would say the last couple of months, he was as optimistic and happy as I can ever recall him... He was so excited about all these things and a new record we were going to put out in the fall."

Cornell took Ativan for anxiety, with his family's lawyer suggesting last week that side effects of the drug have been linked to suicidal feelings.

Cornell's remains were cremated on Tuesday (May 23), with a private funeral service scheduled for Friday (May 26) at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. After 3:00 p.m. local time on Friday, following the private ceremony, the public is welcome to visit the gravesite.

Chris Cornell Wife's Chilling Account Of Singer's Last Moments
http://www.tmz.com/2017/05/26/chris-cornell-suicide-hanging-wife-account-final-moments/

Chris Cornell's wife knew something was terribly wrong with her husband during their last conversation, and it brought her back 14 years to when Chris was abusing prescription meds.We now know what Vicky told friends and family, and it's a chilling story. The following is what she told them.
Vicky says her last conversation with Chris came about 30 minutes before his body was found hanging in a Detroit hotel room. Vicky says just before Chris called her, the lights in their family home -- which Chris could control remotely from his phone -- began flickering on and off. When he called she asked him if he had just manipulated the lights and he said no -- that he did it an hour before.
Vicky immediately became suspicious because Chris was onstage an hour before. Things got more ominous as he began slurring, and every minute the slurring got worse. He was complaining about the show and his crew, saying, "They f***ed up again. They had 3 days to fix my in-ears and I was getting static. I couldn't hear."
He then started to complain, "I blew my voice. I blew my voice." He kept repeating it. And then he changed the subject to something that made no sense.
Vicky says she knew something was seriously wrong and said to Chris, "I need to know what you took tonight. You don't sound right, sweetheart." He replied, "I was really angry and I just took 2 Ativan. I'm really pissed and I had to calm myself down."
Vicky replied, "I need to know what you took. It doesn't sound like 2 Ativan. It sounds like you took something else. You need to tell me now what you took. I forgive you."
Vicky says at that point Chris' entire demeanor changed. He got aggressive -- not toward her -- but his tone was "cocky and aggressive." She says she immediately had a flashback to 14 years before, when Chris was abusing Oxycontin ... when it got so bad at one point he nearly died.
Chris then changed the subject and made no sense at all. Vicky panicked, hung up and called Chris' bodyguard, begging him to race over to his room and get inside, and she said if he had to knock the door down then so be it. She had never had someone check on him in 14 years, but she was afraid he would die.
She says the bodyguard knocked down the front door but couldn't knock down the second, so she used a second phone to call the hotel and plead with them to open the interior door. She was screaming, "He's having a heart attack."

Vicky was still on the phone with the bodyguard when he was able to knock down the second door and saw Chris' body hanging from an exercise band.
Vicky says it took around 30 minutes from the time she hung up with Chris to the time the bodyguard found Chris.

As we reported, sources connected with the investigation tell us EMTs and cops saw fresh track marks on Chris' arm. Vicky says she never knew Chris to use needlesand says just before he left for Detroit that afternoon, he was walking the streets of New York with her in a t-shirt and there was no evidence of track marks on his body.

Chris Cornell 'High, F*ed Up' During Last Performance
Ted Keedick, who worked with Chris for the last decade as his house engineer and tour manager, tells TMZ, "Chris was out of character from note 1 of the show. I've never heard or seen him that way before, at least if we did not cancel a show."
Keedick says Chris seemed "high" and "f*ed up," but not depressed. In fact, Keedick says during sound check Chris was in good spirits. It's consistent with what Chris' widow says of her phone conversations with Chris before and after the show.
Vicky Cornell says Chris told her he had taken "an extra Ativan or two" and she was so alarmed she called hotel security to check on him. Chris' own security guy discovered the singer had hanged himself in his bathroom.
Keedick says Chris was off during the entire show, saying, "I'd never heard his voice that way before. He was having serious control problems."
Keedick was positioned in the middle of the audience with his mixing board, and at one point during the concert he was so concerned he phoned someone backstage and asked what was wrong with Chris.

Red carpet interview for the opening of "The Promise" April 22 2017
- States that he loves his wife and kids.
- States that he has to look out for his well being because his kids are his priority.
- Generally positive and insightful.
- Possibly on pot, but certainly not depressed, seems optimistic.

Less than 30 days later, An Hero. Very strange. Very confusing.

He did not want to belt out spoonman for the ten thousandth time at another venue night after night. They are trying to monetize the franchise because this was a 90s cash cow.

I stopped posting info about this after Chester Bennington from Linkin Park died. I was hoping that no one else would mysteriously die....Then Dolores O'Riordan died, also under strange circumstances. Drowned in a hotel bathtub while drunk.

A lot of the stuff about Chester doesn't add up as well, and he was friends with Chris.

There is a lot of conspiracy speculation about the Chris Cornell / Chester Bennington "Double Suicide" issue. Much of it is horror/ pizza gate related.

The music industry is rife with ocultism and bizarre stuff. Just type in Chris Cornell Chester Bennington Conspiracy in youtube... I don't know how much of the speculation is valid but I might repost links to some of it here since the spammer necro-bumped this thread.

In any event, in my opinion all three of those artist's deaths were serious losses to rock music, and probably more so to their families.

I might post some of the content/ info / speculation about the Linkin Park Connection...as it goes down a pizza gate / horror rabbit hole.
