Time is based in cycles (loops).
For normal purposes, regular cycles (same length) is the way to go.
Some atoms have regular cycles, so humans are using them as precise clocks (atomic clocks).
We want time control (absolute control), and humans have already some of it. It is very useful.

The temporarily of each moment in time is resolved with a good memory.
Conscious continuity of time is guaranteed with a systematic memory of all past events/actions, therefore we are always aware of what happen like a perfect logbook/diary. So the present is in coherent causal-continuity with the distant past (beginning of recording/remembering).
