Developing something doesn't guaranteed to be useful or to be implemented in practice, because there are already better things, because it is not safe or because other wise reasons. So, it was total useless developing? Probably not, because we learn something that doesn't work.

It's so much easy to develop ideas alone.
But in order to get better/enhanced results is recommended to work in a harmoniously productive community (which is not that easy as require refined coordination).

Developing abnormalities at unconscious level is very common on humans because they don't know themselves enough.
That's why we are going for the nothing unconscious full awareness, in order to get early detection of any abnormalities, so we can fix them promptly.
