One hand I think /pol/ is pretty cancerous, but them not being allowed to raid seems pretty suspect. Also apparently Drybones is involved, and he does tend to bring drama with him wherever he goes. There's a less-than-zero chance of him quitting and the guys running this place losing the resources he's given them. Just doesn't seem stable, you know?

I'm really hoping the mods don't go full hotpocket and maybe the no-raid rule was just them misinterpreting US law or not wanting to get too much heat on them so early. At the very least, I'm hoping that maybe this shows that LynxChan actually is ready to roll and convinces Hotwheels to switch to that. I really do like what Endchan's doing, and I'm optimistic for the shit they've promised, like NNTPchan integration. Let's just hope the admins don't fail us.

It is good to see some concerns answered, although I still need to see what firetires will do.  Unless Next bombs so hard that 8chan goes down for good, I suspect that any exodus will split the community, as some will prefer to leave while others will take their chances and stay.  Also we are not sure if the majority of that split would come here, and while /monster/ is best board, it isn't the only one I follow.  So while we have a comfy bunker here, I'm not ready to call it home yet.

Nothing ill against the endchan admins, just kind of the way things are.

Is there anything particularly evil about irc? I'm on the steam chat (albeit I only joined because of the possibility of 8chan and by extension /monster/ would crash with no survivors and we'd have to make a plan in case all goes to hell) and it's not like any of us have stopped caring about the board. It gets kinda autistic sometimes but we really just wanna stick together and shitpost/share neat things.
Fuck all this e-drama, I just want some place to talk about and enjoy vidya, monstergirls, chink comics, and dank memes with anons. Is that too much to ask?

They might be friends, but I find it hard to believe Freddie forgot that Josh is an attention whoring pedo lolcow. You don't get to bring friends to personal projects, especially your weird one, without jeopardizing either the friendship or the project.
Now for $12k we've got 2 broken sites and a lifetime's supply of e-drama. Hotwheels could've just grabbed some fucks off of /tech/ to do it way better and there wouldn't even be any charge for them. Hell, you could've gotten random anons, taught them web development and make them make the site in less than 18 months and we'd probably get something functional.
At this point, Hotwheels is either best off firing Josh so he can take his $12k to buy CP that he'll get caught and v& for and using lynxchan (i.e. swallowing his pride) or just shutting it down and us moving here permanently. The first has the problem of still having to deal with problems in 8chan (specifically it's larger communities) and the latter has the issue of fragmenting an already relatively small community. Thankfully, it seems /monster/, /bane/, /his/, and /v/ (to Mark's chargrin) are set on here as a backup.

IRCs just get very clique-ish.  I'm on the steam chat as well, and I know we suffer from that a bit as well.  It becomes a problem when that is your only interaction with the community, you lose sight of the big picture.

One the the nice things about aux the mexi-kun is that he either makes calls on a whim or in public, which makes him a little less susceptible to such faggotry.  Firetires hasn't really publicly interacted with the community in months, thus why he is out of touch.

I don't get this shit. I don't want to use infinity next, it looks awful and it really doesn't improve 8chan other than performance. It culls features and strengthens the big boards rule/small boards get the scraps mentality that made 8chan go to shit.
