Either way, the conjugations of the verb "to be" goes is, for 3rd person singular and are, for 1st, 2nd and 3rd person plural

The problem is that there's no longer a valid distinction between this specific construct and "correct" english.
If it's used by majority of english speaking users and is not ostracized it becomes correct, no matter how much you don't like it.
Sometimes language evolves in illogical and stupid ways.

I would not, so I'm glad that most of the english speakers do not speak like that. Although I do not think english would be considered a lingua franca of science if that happened so there would be no reason to learn it which would make it a self-solving problem.

I mean that language evolves and it's become standard english. As in correct. As in you'll probably at best have a professor at a university try to maybe keep it from being used by his English major students and noone will bat an eye at it even if used in business correspondence.
