We are going to upgrade the database on May 6th. We'll proceed in four steps:
1. backup the database;
2. do the upgrade;
3. ???;
4. PROFIT!
The whole process could take 12-24 hours downtime.

When the site is down you can hang out on https://wrongthink.net/endchan

Early deleting posts redirected to main page of board. It was so inconvenient. I closed the tab after deleting. In advance I hold a few thread tabs.
Now flood posts is deleted easily and convenience. Thank you very much!

I am user of /polru/. There is a ban evader who keeps posting bait by changing IP (text posts). You already made lock for unknown users, now make so it can use the simple fingerprint of POST request (e.g. DNT header presence, Sec-GPC header presence, user agent string all in combo) so board owners can block their fingerprint if the post count is lower than N posts. Check req_sig in 4chan source code leak and browser_id to see how desuwa operates it on their side.

I think an eepsite would be very nice on endchan. For those who don't know what an eepsite is, it's basically a hidden service but on the I2P network, I2P is overall better than Tor, basically, and in my opinion it would be the best thing if this lovely imageboard had an I2P mirror for privacy enthusiasts.
Developer, if you're really implementing this, I would recommend using the C implementation of I2P called i2pd for hosting eepsites, the Java implementations of I2P are slow.
Thank you for taking your time to read this, have a great day.

> has a lokinet address (literal who darknet or whatever that is)

> no i2p address (the best darknet out there)

> has a tor address (The CIA owns the tor network)

You have the resources, why not do it? I'm sure doing this will bring more activity to this imageboard and invite more people to the i2p network (more nodes & activity to le site = LE GOOD!)

Good evening admin!
Could you please help me delete a thread?
My ID is exposed by mistake in this thread and the poster who is a friend of mine didn't set the code before he create the thread, so he cannot delete it.
This make me very nervous. Could you please help me to delete it?

As a newish phenomenon we're getting DMCA requests now and then. It happened enough times to dedicate a thread for it, a quick explanation and thought.
When we consider a DMCA request we check if the subject in question satisfies fair use:
https://fairuse.stanford.edu/overview/fair-use/what-is-fair-use/
In short we take a look if the posts, the thread can be considered as commentary, criticism, or parody. If we don't find this aspect of the thread prominent enough, we have to comply to the take down request. If this happens we might not give a notice to the affected poster or board.

Personally here I wanna encourage our posters to do creative work, it can be more satisfying and entertaining.

Reminder that you have a legal obligation to respond to ALL DMCA requests.

If you ignore a valid notice, you lose your Safe Harbor protection which opens the door for copyright owners to sue you due to you being liable.

This extends to hosting content and LINKING content -- which I believe is already an issue on /agatha2/

https://www.copyright.gov/512/

Given enough time and the right legal mind, that board itself (endchan by extension) is open for a class action lawsuit if DMCA notices are not taken seriously and responded to in a reasonable timeframe.

Someone might even be working on something like that already...

We do take care all DMCA requests.
There is no time limit how "quickly" we should act even if you write a time limit in there. If you see we haven't take care your request and you feel it's getting long write a note for us to check the emails, it's possible we missed it.

You could try experimenting with the file size limit, set it to 1Kb or something. Not sure the correct syntax.
I think if you set the maximum files to 0 it will set it to the maximum possible.
Perhaps restrict allowed file types to I dunno what, txt...
