I'm trying to post to qrbunker and it says my IP address is blocked because I'm a known spammer. I am not a spammer. Presumably I have been caught up in a ban on certain IP addresses that are being used by my VPN or in my part of the world. If there is some way you can un-block my IP address I would be most grateful. Thank you and apologies for previous hamfisted attempts to reach out using reports. I have been quite frustrated
 >>/12138/
Thank you very much.
Looks like I need to fill out the form on StopForumSpam as you suggested. Question - should I use my regular IP address or the one assigned to me when my VPN is switched on? It's a little hard to see why both of them would be being blocked by enchan's qrbunker but that seems to be what's happening. Many thanks for any assistance
 >>/12137/
As suggested in the other linked thread just dont block all VPNs or TOR proxies just for one case, better delete the invidual post instead of punish innocents, dont do as 8chan.moe is doing blocking TOR

Is there a way to make the wordfilter recognice spaces so it only applies to isolated words but not if the phrase is part of a longer word?

like filtering '_trans_' but not 'transport'

So how should custom spoilers be formatted?

Normal preview images are 255x255px but a spoiler that size apparently gets compressed to something like 255x172px distorting the image.

I managed to create an undistorted spoiler by embedding it in a transparent 255x172 image but then the resulting visible preview is only 172px high instead of 255 like normal images.

Any way to fix this?
yes because this spoiler is only 100x100px. If height is above 172px it gets distorted. I just wanted to make a spoiler the same size of the other 255x255 preview images so it's not immediately recognizable as such but nvm it's not a real issue.

6th birthday

When we started Endchan, to me, it was a bet on user experience. 8chan was going to switch to InfinityNext, which now 9chan uses. I bet that users would not like the instant jump to a radical new interface and prefer the older interface.

8chan was leaving Infinity, their existing software, for many reasons. Mainly it was hacked together without much thought to the structure. InfinityNext was a carefully approached re-imagination of what 8chan could be.

Selecting infinity for Endchan was not wise for a couple reasons. First what if InfinityNext was never finished. This was a real concern at the time, we even name our git repos InfinityNow as a joke around this idea it may never happen. And we had this luxury because not only had I made an imageboard engine and turned it into an archival system called Futabilly for 8archive after its backend couldn’t keep up. But mainly because StephenLynx had started a project after InfinityNext and before Futabilly and he had a great fast engine ready to be put to the test. 8TailedLynx a theme for Lynxchan also helped provide a similar interface to 8chan. My engine didn’t have no-js support, so it wasn’t even an option.

We were the prime Lynxchan instance for a couple of years until the disagreements over the direction of LynxChan added up and I just decide it would back-port features and fixes as needed. This has left our site feeling old and stale. We’ve had a couple boards disagree with our decision and have left for new instances running with the latest LynxChan.

InfinityNext was somewhat completed but 8chan failed to migrate to it. It was handed off to NextChan which they continued some development until Josh regained the will to implement another chunk and launched 9chan.

Josh’s 9chan plans didn’t quite work out as he expected and said if someone, like us, didn’t take over he was going to shut it down.

After we took over 9chan, over the next year we learned what it cost to not have a strong personality as well as lead developer with the promise to continue to transform imageboards into the future.

I had some code for a new imageboard / social media hybrid, called WrongThink. And after discussion with some other developers, one proposed the idea of unifying all sites under one look and feel.
I believe that user experiences are largely important to a site. So we operate 9chan separately from Endchan because the software is so different and a unique experience all its own. And while Endchan has maintained its 8chan look and feel, it does need a new coat of paint.

When we set out to build WrongThink, we decided not to build our own HTML/CSS and licensed an excellent modern mobile-friendly implementation from Jschan. This is a very similar experience to 8TailedLynx, other Lynxchan frontends and 8chan. However with WrongThink we’ve heavily invested in a really solid no-js experience (using heavy modern css tested on older browsers).

From what I've seen VPN endpoints are in Korea, France and wherever, rarely if ever in the US. These are all US IPs. And what VPN service gives someone 6000 unique IPs in under an hour? This is more likely a botnet.

 >>/12155/
> no flood protection to cover this kind of thing
What do you propose? How would you solve the problem?
The traffic looks like normal from the side of the server. It's a file and text. All random. Filename, size, image ratio. How do you make a rule that picks up on it? What if a legit new poster appears and he also gets stopped? All new threads start with 1 UID, how to stop flood but not stop new thread creation of legit users?
We have measures in place, and captcha stops. But they can train that. So we experiment to get on top of it. We'll find a permanent solution eventually (and probably the spam with stop with the end of the US midterms), but we are open for useful propositions of solutions. We listen.

Add a word filter every time new spam comes in. So if a specific phrase gets posted, you add that to a word filter and make sure nobody can make a new thread using that phrase.

Maybe add a filter to random urls that get posted in single post threads, or an inspector for it.

This will effect several boards.
Got an ultimatum from Roskomnadzor to take down some content, else they'll block our domain. Since we won't comply we advise users to explore our alternative access options, and ofc look up possible ways to avoid government censorship.
Happy posting.

As a newish phenomenon we're getting DMCA requests now and then. It happened enough times to dedicate a thread for it, a quick explanation and thought.
When we consider a DMCA request we check if the subject in question satisfies fair use:
https://fairuse.stanford.edu/overview/fair-use/what-is-fair-use/
In short we take a look if the posts, the thread can be considered as commentary, criticism, or parody. If we don't find this aspect of the thread prominent enough, we have to comply to the take down request. If this happens we might not give a notice to the affected poster or board.

Personally here I wanna encourage our posters to do creative work, it can be more satisfying and entertaining.

Yes, /agatha2/ and /ashleyj/ need to be removed. The girls which are discussed there were underage at the time and there are underage nudes in various threads on the board. Users will post them and remove them soon afterward or the board owner may remove them but no one is ever banned or reported for posting that content. They use this as a loophole to get away with doing it and there are still nudes of underage girls up on the boards hidden in the various threads.

The board owner of the /ashleyj/ board is a legitimate stalker of that girl who has been stalking her for over seven years and harasses her family members on social media. He regularly posts about it and shares her doxx info on a discord server dedicated to her where most of the /ashleyj/ users congregate. Fair use does not offer legal protections from these activities and they will soon be reported to the proper authorities and the company who hosts endchan if no steps are taken to correct this matter. The law is very clear in the state of Nevada, the U.S. and Switzerland regarding these matters. Switzerland does not offer legal protections to those who engage in the distribution and solicitation of child pornography or the sexual exploitation of minors online and does cooperate with U.S. law enforcement on these matters as anyone can read about with a simple Google search as there have been many convictions the past several years.

I'd also like to state that one of the girls, Ashley, recently returned only asking to take ownership of the board dedicated to her to be able to moderate it and remove her personal information posted there and the explicit photos of her when she was a minor that she shared with her boyfriend at the time which are illegal to have hosted there.

It has recently come to my attention that the anon that is harassing her family and stalking her is also the board owner and refuses to moderate the board or hand over the board so it can be moderated properly and they have posted in their discord server that they have no intention of moderating the board or passing ownership to Ashley simply out of spite because Ashley will not comply with their requests which constitutes as blackmail and is also a crime.

This is a final attempt to notify the owners of the website to correct these issues before further litigation is taken.
 >>/12110/
Basically nothing in this post is true, and it's really obvious that you're 'xmr' and what your motives are here.
None of the girls discussed on /agatha2/ are underage, and there are absolutely not any underage nudes on the board, nor have there been any posted at any point. This is nothing but lies and slander.
The rest of your post is literally fanfiction-tier and not worth addressing.

What is up with all the censorship, half TOR ips are banned and they call these chans sites of free speech yet ban TOR or proxies with the excuse of spam til year 2050 or so, but I just keep reading that they have a lot of volunteers then why not just remove the real spam or CP instead of use it as an excuse to ban the only way (TOR) to protect us we, NWO system opposition other than CP there is no reason to ban anything else
So can you ENDCHAN owner just unban a heck of a lot (or all) TOR IPs and then just remove CP only, come on this is not fucking big tech silicon valley nigger kike lovers
BTW 8chan.moe is not letting upload images from TOR anyone know what is happening and hopes this doesn't happen here or else folks will start seeking for an alternative

also, another annoying thing there are a ton of dynamic mobile (cellular network) IPs that are banned forever because some other person has used them for spam in the past, basically often making it impossible for me to post with mobile data because i get some random ip that's banned
 >>/18400/
This is it, many, but more like A LOT! of TOR exit nodes are banned and you need to change IP to be able to post.

The other day I had to swtich TOR IP because it rejected saying you're banned for real spam and that's not because of BO banned the Ip because it was in my OWN B! so that was an IP banned GLOBALLY!

Besides individual Board Owners there appears to be some kind of GLOBAL ban of some TOR exit nodes for reasons besides the obvious CP many logs say spam but that can be kind of subjective what is exactly spam and according to whom, kind of like twitter hate speech

So we're asking to remove global bans of TOR, dynamic mobile, VPN and even home IPs for reasons that are not CP

To be able to post this I had to switch IP again, because seems like some three letter agency used that IP to inject CP SPAM banned till 2 abril 2023 to Endchan to suppress free speech.

So mossad if you read this you can go drink poison no one will miss your big yid nose

Question: do you use Tor on our onion site, or you load a clearnet address of ours with your Tor browser?
I did some testing, starting from here: >>/test/5630/
The first 8 posts are done with the Tor browser on our primary onion address.
Then I opened another tab, and loaded a clearnet address and posted there, resulting that South Korean post.
Then I posted again, now noting the nationality of the exit node.
From there I posted alternately on the onion site and on the clearnet frontend. With the clearnet, occasionally it was identified as if it wasn't a Tor post. On one occasion I got the ban message as well, I made the screenshot that it shows the clearnet address, and the availability of the onion site. No such thing happened when I stayed on our tor address.
So I suggest using Tor on either of our onion address. You can find those on our home page.
 >>/18405/
Yep, on clearnet site endchan.net
Or a bug of sorts or like we have been saying many TOR IPs are banned for the exact same reason which looks strange because I have not seen a single instance of CP but of course I don't watch all posts on all boards and when the logs or ban message refer to CP hopes it really means it, it would be a waste of resources (IPs) to ban an IP just because someone memed with a pic that happened include a kid/kids but nothing to do with pr0n or child abuse
Ok will try to use the onion address when get that message but also for the community health and sake to fix that bug and/or ban mishandling so people stay here one of the bastions of really free speech on the net like 8kun or gab no that joke of free speech maximalist of Elon Musk

Is there a way to implement a whitelist for a board? It would be easier if I could do that instead of hoping a bot spammer will eventually tire out or run out of proxies.

Hey admin do your job

That tiktok person is over 18, all the suggestive things she published was also done after she became adult.
