Note: it is possible to get a "banned" alert if you use an IP which was banned previously (it could be a proxy, or VPN, or even a legit residential IP if it is distributed as dynamic IP).
I asked when was the ban because I checked the last couple of days in the logs (they are public, home page has the link to them) and I've found no ban with the reason "real spam".

 >>/19667/
Ah. No such ban was issued.
However some time ago in tandem with the usual cp spam there was another one that said "real rape of women" or something the like. I believe the ban message denotes that particular one. In this case the IP you used was banned some time ago, and wasn't issued to your post with screenshots of a libre vidya game.

> Ultimately the best protection is a social approach: the more Tor users there are near you and the more diverse their interests, the less dangerous it will be that you are one of them. Convince other people to use Tor, too!
I will like to say:
"There's only one thing this place needs, more Tor posters."

Sometimes some posters don't have an id inside boards where every poster has ids
and it also appears that in the moderation pages those id-less posters have no informations, unlike other posters who do, so those id-less posters are immune to some moderation actions

is it a feature for some posters to be id-less?
or is it a bug?
regardless if it's a bug or not, this is a weakness in the moderation tools, is there any way to resolve this?
Here two examples of id-less posters in a board with ids enabled
 >>/dump/1085/
 >>/dump/1086/

to be more specific, every post, when looked at in the moderation mode, has an hash of the ip address
the id-less posts lack any hashed ip, they are basically ip-less, so it's impossible to ban them

this isn't the first time i've seen these odd information-lacking posts on boards, they stand out pretty much usually, but i can't find more examples at the moment

is this an expected behaviour for the site? or what could be causing this occurrence?

As posters noted above those are users posting via Tor or Lokinet. They don't get IDs or IP hashes, they are all count as 1 poster (on the whole site) and they aren't included the number of posters on the board page.
BOs can disallow the use of Tor on their board, that option was included in case of certain attacks. I encourage you not to choose using it, unless it's absolutely necessary.

Hohoho.

There is a maximum amount of threads. It's the default. BOs can decrease it.
Imageboards weren't meant to be used as archives, and as opposed to regular forums threads are ephemeral by design. You could archive threads with some online tools, liek:
https://web.archive.org/save
https://archive.ph/

 >>/18419/
ah, alright, no worries then. I think the threads are already archived anyway, it just would have been nice to have some way to keep them on the board, the nature of the threads on this particular board being intended to be a bit less ephemeral than those on others.

 >>/18420/
Alternative suggestion:
- save the page of a thread
- zip it
- upload the zip to a dedicated thread, with a description of the archived thread
Endchan starts autosaging at 500 posts, but the bump limit is 1000. I think max amount of files in a post is 5. So theoretically you could keep 500-5000 threads archived in a thread.
Media heavy threads, like bunch of webm/mp4s are different a bit...
Pls don't use imageboards as data storage facilities...

Step 1. Allow posting only from registered account
Step 2. To create an account make user solve a significant amount of captchas (like, 10 or 100)

This way a legit user will suffer the step 2 only once, but a cocksucker will have to do it many, many times after each ban

What do you think?

That can be easily adjusted.

List of what? All the proxies on the internet? They are using freshly bought ones.
ID mining or something similar appears to be best solution.

 >>/23185/
> List of what? All the proxies on the internet? They are using freshly bought ones.

Doubt they're actually buying proxies, most likely using publicly available ones. So, yes, a third party ban list of proxies is something that should be looked into. Alternatively, pulling the unhashed IPs of spam posts from the database and googling some of them may be helpful to figure out where they've sourced them from, and you may be able to construct your own blocklist.

There's shit all over /operate/ and Wrongthink. Here's one problem besides the many others: Mod panel does not have a "Delete every post below this" option. I think that would be key in cleaning up the shit on both sites. Who wants to click next to over 300 images of poop in one thread?

 >>/23409/
We have such tools, except it's difficult to implement them on Endchan and Wrongthink still needs so many things to be a working imageboard. First the flood rate has to be limited to manageable levels, mend the holes on Wrongthink, then we can add functionality.

https://endchan.net/agatha2/index.rss is broken. I can't add it to any rss reader. I checked it with https://validator.w3.org/feed/ and it gives a parsing error due to an invalid token. kind devs can you please fix it?

I have also a feature request. Since the rss feed only gives notifications for new threads, it's pretty much useless for a board like agatha2, so I'd like to ask if you could rework the rss feed so that it gives notifications also for bumped threads and not only new ones. This way I can set a rule in my rss feed reader to alert me only for the threads of the egirls I'm interested in. The same result could be achieved if you could create an rss feed for each thread. That would be a cool feature too.

Not a dev, so I don't know if it's feasible or easy to do but another idea I had is making a general rss feed that contains all new posts for that board and each rss item has to include information on the thread that the post belongs to, so that everyone can setup rules in their reader to filter for the threads and egirls they are interested in.
I use a telegram rss feed bot so I receive notifs directly on my phone. It would be pretty handy something like that.

Today Endchan is 2 years old.

Sorry feeling a bit down atm but I wanted to say something to commemorate this event. This isn't quite what I'd normally write for an event like this but it'll do. I had actually considered using this landmark to officially quit but I just can't. I love this community too much to put them in someone else's hands. I've put too much work in and fought too many battles to call it quits now. But it's been really hard being the only active admin, doing all the sysadmin and coding. This really is a labor of love.

- We've had success with am, ggrevolt, tech, pol, librejp, news and sp
- We've had our domains taken away and we've gotten our main endchan.xyz back
- Several attacks and we're still standing
- We've implemented a lot of features

- We've made mistakes and hopefully we've proved that we've learned from them.
- Running a site like this is a never ending job that can feel thankless especially when dealing with haters
- Our HTML/CSS could use improvement. It says something that each of our major boards override the default CSS.

- We're planning to upgrade to LynxChan 1.9 in January

Special thanks to the few active globals we have.

Here's to 2 more years!

/bb is full of shit. A while ago one faggot started to post harmful advices and posts how he fapped while on bath salt, it could be literally over 10 posts a day in general thread. Now he is destroying the whole /bb, write shit and spam in almost every thread, answer to his own posts, pretending like someone fight with him and arguing

/bb is literally dying because of one fag and moderator don't do anything
18 replies omitted. Click to expand viewer

> Ignore this faggot. He is trying to get ownership over /bb/ board to himself. Literally every post from this fag is about how he can run the board better than the current admins
I'm just regular anon. Мне нахуй не надо мочухом становиться и бесплатно парашу драить, уже есть человек, который этим должен заниматься
> /bb/ has always been this way. It's a board dedicated to discussing drugs you dumb fuck. Of course there are people who discuss fapping on stimulants
Yeah, everyday there is 5-10-15 posts about fapping on salt and cumming like a pig, or about jews, and now this is crazy, literally whole general thread in shizo posts and arguing with himself. Not only that, this maggot answer to almost every post from normal anons. If you write something about weed he will answer something like that "bruh, weed is shit, try fap your ass on salt" and this is to almost every post, everyday. And everyday he posts questions about how to fuck your ass properly on bath salt

So, what's the final outcome? Haven't visited bb in a month, noticed there's a new mod. And I think the troll calmed down a bit, at least I don't see as many of his posts.

Just making note of. Was 404ed on the /overboard/ and home was redirected the bunker. It cleared up and everything back to normal before I could do anything else. All happened a handful of minutes ago.

 >>/10627/
Or logrotate, maintenance script, nefarious Odilitime editor operations, etc. Good to hear others noticed though. It can be useful to give the site admins a heads up even when nothing critical happened.

Doesn't this thing run on a forked version of? "InfinityNow" I believe.
