Came up on the apropos of the Christmas Special that we should hold a recurring "movie night", maybe on monthly basis. We just might do that.
The first occasion would be on the 8th of February (probably would be the 9th for Australians). One movie, and maybe two short videos, as an intro and outro, might be related to the movie itself, might not.

Right at this moment, I can't offer a more exact date, for all the timezones it is hard to plan. Was talk about 21:00 PST on the 8th which is 00:00 EST and 16:00 AET on the 9th. However this is too early for Europeans on Sunday. Maybe we could offer two streams with some gap between.
Also no titles yet.

So ideas, suggestions are welcomed.
Love Exposure, I hear it's a pretty good movie, for obvious reasons I won't watch it with the family, it might be fun on stream. It's a weird christian japanese comedy.
 >>/10929/
> Also if Anons have ideas how to solve the timezone conundrum... post that too.

Doing it around the weekend is a good start. Most people would be free from work at that time. Maybe in the morning for the most of us and at night for aussies. Putting it in the front page is good for other people to know and schedule. Trying to coordinate with everyone is a little hard. Do you have any tools to at least arrange different timezones?

You could also do a poll or ask users here what time works best itt

 >>/10923/
> So ideas, suggestions are welcomed.

See if you like any of these movies to play one of them
 >>/10933/
> Doing it around the weekend is a good start.
That's the plan.
> Putting it in the front page
Not a bad idea, but I'm not sure how many visits the front page. When I picked a movie, we have a channel and a starting date, I'll ask Odili to do that.
> Do you have any tools to at least arrange different timezones?
You mean like a scripted table of the related timezones which calculates when is when? In fact that I have.
> do a poll
NEETs are very skilled at that, maybe I ask them to set up one and pass me the link when it's ready. However the question might not be that easy.

 >>/10934/
> South Australian time
What's that? AEDT? ACDT?
Well, we could just watch this video over and over again. Probably more insight to be gained than most mainstream movies nowadays.
 >>/10940/
It really is budy

 >>/10923/
Another suggestion: if you choose only one or two movies and can't play the rest that were posted here, you could save them in a excel sheet or something to have movies in queue if you decide to do more movie nights.

Have it saved up and make another poll if people are still interested in it in the future
/rus/ suggested Green Elephant which seems to be an exploitation movie. And accordion.
I looked it up and found out it's kind of a cult film, quoted many times on Russian imageboards and inspired the birth of many memes.
For the first occasion it is probably too weird but if we really make this into a repeatable program then we should watch it.
Supposedly it's on youtube (I haven't checked yet).

 >>/10944/
The idea is that it would be one movie.
That Jackie Chan silliness sounds good (maybe I saw it maybe not, I saw some but his stuff isn't really memorable despite being entertaining - usually), and I think I can find a couple of short related videos on youtube (how they made fight scenes, bloopers and such) to add some padding to the show.

The boong related films, I'm tempted by them. But maybe not for the first occasion.
To be honest that Swimmer and Love Exposure also sounds good (but the latter is really long). I read the swimmer is about a dude who want to swim in as many pools he can. Sounds very kc-tire.
 >>/10945/
Was recommended this movie by another anon, and I found it to be extremely good. Baraka
Its own unique film that I have seen follow no other style, and it definitely works to get you thinking and appreciate the work put into it. I think it would be a good divergence from the typical protagonist/antagonist/problem-solution movie format.
 >>/10947/
Should have included more detail about my movie:

Baraka is a documentary film with no narrative or voice-over. It explores themes via a compilation of natural events, life, human activities and technological phenomena shot in 24 countries on six continents over a 14-month period.
Following previous DVD releases, in 2007 the original 65 mm negative was rescanned at 8K resolution with equipment designed specifically for Baraka at FotoKem Laboratories. The automated 8K film scanner, operating continuously, took more than three weeks to finish scanning more than 150,000 frames (taking approximately twelve to thirteen seconds to scan each frame), producing over thirty terabytes of image data in total. After a 16-month digital intermediate process, including a 96 kHz/24 bit audio remaster by Stearns for the DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack of the film, the result was re-released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in October 2008. At the time, project supervisor Andrew Oran described the reissue of Baraka as "arguably the highest quality DVD that's ever been made".[7] Chicago Sun-Times critic Roger Ebert described the Blu-ray release as "the finest video disc I have ever viewed or ever imagined."[4]
 >>/10947/
I know Baraka, seen back then. That's a good suggestion too. This thread makes the pick not easy. Maybe I really should go ahead and poll the users.
As I mentioned here >>/10976/ the next occasion will be one the 7th of March at:
- 13:00 PST
- 16:00 CET
- 18:00 BRT
- 21:00 UTC
- 22:00 CET
This is Midnight for Moscow Time. And the morning of the 8th, 08:00 AEDT.

The link for the new channel:
https://cytu.be/r/endcorner

I picked Baraka, if everything goes well we can watch that. If things go sideways we'll pick a classic Chinese kung-fu movie as a replacement.
Okay. It's decided.
March 4th
PDT 13:00
EDT 16:00
UTC 20:00
CEST 22:00
AEDT 07:00 on the 5th. Sorry NEETs.
For the next movie feature, I'm suggesting The 13th Warrior. A certain IB here won't have a problem with it
 >>/11040/
I think that for the next movie, we should go with the one /rus/ suggested. They've been waiting for a while and would only be fair for them
 >>/11041/
 >>/11042/
We can watch Green Elephant, I put that aside since /rus/ is abandoned basically. They fed up with Endchan's constant downtime. There's one active Russian board but they don't care, just do their own thing.
 >>/11043/
 >>/11043/
> We can watch Green Elephant, I put that aside since /rus/ is abandoned basically. They fed up with Endchan's constant downtime

Oh I thought they were still here. Shit
NEXT MOVIE NIGHT WHEN?

NEXT MOVIE NIGHT WHEN?

NEXT MOVIE NIGHT WHEN?

I really want it to happen again
A Russian Classic:
Green Elephant
2nd May, 22:00 Moscow Time (19:00 UTC)
 >>/11078/
Alternative date for Australians:
9th May
Somewhere between 18:00 and 22:00 AEST, we're gonna decide later I hope on the bases of user suggestions.
 >>/11078/
Reposting from another board:

I unfortunately can't go into the stream. I keep get this error message trying to get in

MOVIE CUCKED AGAIN!
On the 25th May we are going to hold a stream in the honor of Douglas Adams' immortal masterpiece, the one which inspired the founders of our chan to name that after it.
Featuring:
- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the 2005 movie)
and:
- Howard the Duck
Exact date: coming soon.

As always, everyone is welcomed.
I enjoyed Towel Day. Quite a few people was present as well.

On the 6th, the regular edition coming up next. Maybe The Tracker from here >>/11122/ sounds good. But will look into the others as well.
And we're gonna have two streaming, I'll figure out the exact time.
Next Movie Corner is coming up on the 6th.
I picked a movie, but it has weird aspect ratio (that very wide screen one), and not sure it plays well on cytube, I have to check it first.
Coming Up Next:
Mad Max 2 Road Worrier - Who manages Barter Town better?
On 4th of July.

I think same time as on the last occasion:
1st stream: 20:00 AEST (10:00 UTC)
2nd stream: 20:00 UTC
Magyar anon, here is the magnet link I mentioned on /ausneets/:
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:03842d5f11b931fd54682cbe8737896a9fc106b5&dn=NED.(2003).%5bPyre8Storm%5d.mp4&tr=udp%3a%2f%2ftracker.leechers-paradise.org%3a6969&tr=udp%3a%2f%2fzer0day.ch%3a1337&tr=udp%3a%2f%2fopen.demonii.com%3a1337&tr=udp%3a%2f%2ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3a6969&tr=udp%3a%2f%2fexodus.desync.com%3a6969
The film is Ned (2003).
A classic for the neets although some haven't seen it.
 >>/11244/
Alright, cheers m8.
I am the main seed for the torrent.
If you announce when you are downloading it over on /ausneets/ I'll make sure to prioritize the seeding of it.
Really nice movie night, along with a nice turnout of people. Since there's new boards and users coming in to end, I wanted to ask if they knew about movie night as well. They may not know about it even happening. Do new boards have a movie night thread in them? Just asking
Also wanted to add two movies to the list:

The Room by Tommy Wisseau - for our Polish audience if we have any

And The Life Aquatic by Steve Zizzou. It's a good indie film by Wes Anderson
 >>/11245/
Thanks. Already down.

 >>/11246/
> new boards
There are.
> users coming
Not really. What was surely set up by newcomers waned quickly. Others were set up by those who were already here. Most likely.

 >>/11247/
We'll see. Probably.
NED
On the 1st August.
1st stream: 19:00 AEST (09:00 UTC)
2nd stream: 20:00 UTC

https://cytu.be/r/endcorner
 >>/11283/
Yes.
The Lighthouse (2019)!
On the 5th.
Still undecided when. The 1st stream probably will be at 19:00 AEST (09:00 UTC), just like the last time, but the second might will be at a different time.
We gonne start in different times tomorrow.
1st stream: 16:00 UTC on the 5th (that's morning in the US)
2nd stream: 02:00 UTC on the 6th (10pm at the East Coast of the USA on the 5th, 12:00 at the East Coast of Australia on the 6th)
 >>/11290/
Hey

I'm making a poster for the movie night using most of the boards' official mascots here. If anyone's interested in having their board featured, just reply and let me know with.

It's just an early draft, so things are either half done or off.

Current boards in - /kc/, /tech/, /ausneets/, /yuri/, /imouto/, and /bbg/

Also, what would be the timezone for the stream?
 >>/11299/
Usually we do two streams, one earlier and one later, then post the time in UTC to accommodate more people. Especially now that we have such an international userbase.
Dogma
7th November
8:00 & 21:00 UTC

That's:
3:00 & 16:00 EST
19:00 on the 7th & 8:00 on the 8th AEDT
2 suggestions if possible

Idiocracy for President Camacho. And Pacific Rim for giant fighting robots. Both good films
Here's the schedule for now:
December 5 - Idiocracy
January 2 or 9 - Mad Dog Morgan
February 6 - Four Lions

The January date is undecided, I'm not sure if users will be up for it after New Years Eve.
Is it possible to have multiple stream times for different time zones in the next movie showing? People have different schedules, so it would be a little easier for them
As mentioned here: >>/11376/ Idiocracy on this Saturday.
At 8:00 and 21:00 UTC.
On https://cytu.be/r/endcorner

 >>/11394/
> multiple stream times
We have. Two is multiple. But you probably mean more than two. Sadly I can't be present all the evenings of our globe to run three streams. The others from the staff can only host one occasionally, so can't make it regular or promise beforehand anything.
What I can change is to hold the earlier one hour later and the later one hour earlier (ie. at 9 and 20 UTC).
 >>/11402/
All I can think of is the "Italian Spiderman" series or any film by Alberto Sordi. He's made over 100 films in the span of 7 decades, so you'll at least some options to choose from.

Here's a list if anyone's interested. Needs a translate tool though

https://ilsorpassocinema.com/2020/06/14/alberto-sordi-100-anni-di-un-italiano-i-migliori-10-film/
 >>/11415/
Maybe another Italian movie I can recommend would be "Fumo di Londra", which is about a regular Italian moving to London to become British Upperclass. Doesn't work too well

Other movies I can recommend would be "UHF", which is about Weird Al Yankovic being in charge of a local TV station and the wacky hi-jinks that happen inside the channels.

Another movie I can recommend would be "the gods must be crazy". A comedy about an African tribe trying to return a magical coca cola bottle from the sky to it's place of origin. This movie in particular was one of the most highly rated movies in South African cinema during its premiere. All are pretty good tbh
 >>/11534/
Not sure yet.
From the above suggested UHF or The Gods Must Be Crazy is a possible pick. Can't supply the Fumo di Londra with dubs or hardcoded subs.
Thinking about Damascus Time and a couple others from a more serious genre however.
Will be on the March 6th, usual times.
 >>/11535/
> Will be on the March 6th, usual times.

> From the above suggested UHF or The Gods Must Be Crazy is a possible pick.
Sounds great

Oghey. Thanks for the reply. Can't wait to see the next stream tbh
Shieeet. And it is Friday the 5th.
The Gods Must Be Crazy is gonna be tomorrow.
At 8:00 and 21:00 UTC.
Drive
April 3
9:00 and 20:00 UTC
That's supposedly 5am and 4pm on the East Coast. Just set forward the clocks so I might be a bit confused.
 >>/11581/
Stream was rally good. Lots of good times

Also, wanted to ask if we could get a list of all the movies that have been streamed right here itt. Keeping a catalog and calendar of everything shown would be nice
 >>/11593/
Here's what I found.

February ? - classic Chinese kung-fu movies
March 7 - classic Chinese kung-fu movie, maybe Who Killed Captain Alex
April 4 - Outbreak

Last time someone suggested Nightcrawler. I read a bit and sounded good. I kinda promised it too.
> Don't Be a Menace
Those are fun.
I've some negercore movies saved btw. Boyz n The Hood, Meance II Society, Straight Outta Compton.
Bad Boy Bubby

Bubby is a 35-year-old man who has never set foot outside his mother's dingy apartment in the back of a printing press in an industrial area of Adelaide. In addition to beating and sexually abusing him, she confines him to the apartment, telling him that the air outside is poisonous and telling him he will die if he tries to leave. Bubby eventually escapes, joins up with a rock band, and embarks on a confused, nihilistic journey of self-discovery and shocking mayhem.
 >>/11606/
> Last time someone suggested Nightcrawler.
It's good. Show it whenever I suppose. Maybe having a Stream calender set up here would be good And more streaming dates in a months. 2-3 days max

> Those are fun. I've some negercore movies saved btw. Boyz n The Hood, Meance II Society, Straight Outta Compton.
It is. Don't be a Menace is actually a parody of all those movies. So one movie can just show everything negercore related.

And every movie's fun with friends and people you enjoy being around
 >>/11607/

Australia, what's goin on big guy?
Nightcrawler
May 1
9:00 and 20:00 UTC = 5am and 4am on the US East Coast

 >>/11607/
The last featured Australian movie was some time ago so why not.
> The film also used 31 individual directors of photography to shoot different scenes. Once Bubby leaves the apartment a different director of photography is used for every location until the last third of the film, allowing an individual visual slant on everything Bubby sees for the first time. No director of photography was allowed to refer to the work of the others.
Sounds good.
> Bubby's pet cat was wrapped in plastic wrapping and suffocated to death on film
Anon is gentle soul who likes cats, not sure that scene is for him.
Gonna sleep on it before decide. Quite a few good suggestions in the previous list too.

Now this is gangsta!
Another question: is it possible to include more custom emojis inside the synth channel? We only have 2 so far, but I'd be nice to put more

Stuff like Apu Apustaja, Wojak, Spurdo, Spede, and whatever else you wanna add. And this rave Apu would be nice too. Lemme know what you think fam
May 25 Towel Day!!!
Hitchhiker's Guide is still up. But thinking in the Bri'ish tv-series.

I'm thinking about less custom emojis to be honest.

idk. I just like posting things like that in the chat

Show picrel in the stream. DO IT! Would be ebin :--DD
Heh, I forgot to put this here.
So at 20:00 UTC The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the 1981 BBC series not the more recent movie).
 >>/11607/
I checked out the scene with the cat, and I believe even cat enthusiast Anons can stomach it, no gore or anything like that, the act itself is partially implied. I decided to schedule that movie for the next occasion.
So.
Bad Boy Bubby
on June 5th, at the usual times:
9:00 and 20:00 UTC - which is 5am and 4pm on East Coast Summer Time.
Okay. Bad Boy Bubby 4 realz now.
on July 3rd

> House of Wax
I have seen the remake. Wiki page says the story is very different (seems just the premise is it same?).
The idea that we should have a horror movie stream on the 13th of May (Friday) was put forward so maybe we could stream some horror movies. These you suggested could fit well, gonna dig out the list others said.
Others were requested elsewhere:
- Taxi Driver
- Phantom of the Paradise
- Her
- Bottle Rocker
- Mystery Team
This wasn't recommended but looks interesting:
- Wake In Fright
I also have Exposed dl'd.

I'm tempted by Taxi Driver, but I think we'll go with Bottle Rocket for this Saturday, the 7th. At 10 and 20 UTC.
 >>/12017/
> I have seen the remake. Wiki page says the story is very different (seems just the premise is it same?).

They really made it more normie friendly in the remake. Original is better.

> The idea that we should have a horror movie stream on the 13th of May (Friday) was put forward so maybe we could stream some horror movies.

Gud idea budy

> Others were requested elsewhere:

Maybe 1-3 times a month streaming movie works. Just because so many movies have been recommended at this point.
 >>/12017/
> but I think we'll go with Bottle Rocket for this Saturday, the 7th. At 10 and 20 UTC.

Pls announce the movie night on all the boards and sites early on or whoever is in charge of doing that. Just to give people time in advance to prepare. Inviting people at the last minute is never a good idea.
 >>/12020/
> Pls announce the movie night on all the boards and sites early on
It's the first Saturday of the month and has been like that for a year, except for one month when it was on Friday.

I also recommend this banger, which one NEET ( >>/ausneets/516323/) described as
> I think crooks and hijinks happened I just remmber the pain in my eyes
As I previously mentioned on the boards, when I was shilling the usual monthly Movie Corner I noted we're gonna have the also usual Towel Day screening on Towel Day, May 25th, tomorrow.
Gonna stream the old BBC telly show Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. As kind of an experiment we'll also add Starship Titanic, the radio adaptation of a 1998 vidya of the same title, which plays in the universe Douglas Adams created for his novels.
Coming up next
Torrente, the Dumb Arm of the Law (1998)

Next movie might be Trainspotting, someone asked that on the boards. And I had something in mind I can't recall just now.
> indie?
Liek "independent" movie? Not Hollywood one?
I'm late with the announcement.

Hi! Since You've gladly invite the people of Dobrochan, there was a thought to propose some of our New Year Holidays classic to your list:
"The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!" The Soviet classic that translated every New Year since 70s.
"Last Year's Snow Was Falling" ("Under Yesteryear's snowfall") The iconic short clay-animation film about searching for a proper New Year Tree. Also may add another even more short but not less iconic clay-animation musical "Plasticine Crow".
Continue with animation "Winter in Prostokvashino". Unless you wouldn't to watch the whole Prostokvashino mini-trilogy, which it's the final part of.
And maybe the "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya".

Another ideas that was brought up, some less holiday:
"Gentlemen of Fortune" and "Operation Y (and Shurik's Other Adventures)", and "Ivan Vasilievich Changes Profession" (sometimes braindead adapted as "Ivan Vasilievich: Back to the Future"). And maybe "The Diamond Arm" and "Red Heat" with Schwarznegger.
Anime Rozen Maiden, and Spice and Wolf.

I believe, all of these can be found on the internet with subtitles, almost all of it right on Mosfilm's official Youtube channel.
Hope you all will have fun watching some of it :3
So.

> Filthy Frank
Ok.
> The Nightmare...
Managed to get it.
> SpongeBob
That is a no go. No source. It should be S02/E08 and I got the whole season 2, no such episode (actually it should be a double episode) can be found in there.

 >>/18318/
Basically found them all on youtube.
About the "miscellaneous" titles. They aren't really Christmassy, although what I watched from them when I searched looks fun.
I wanna stream Red Heat in February on the usual Movie Corner we have.

Now the more genre appropriate the first batch you wrote:
The Irony of Fate is quite long, two ~1,5 hours long episodes. I'm not sure.
Last Year's Snow Was Falling, can't find one with English subtitles.
The Plasticine Crow can work.
Prostokvashino, the one with subtitles are the one that includes all three episodes. It can work.
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya - I found a channel with all episodes except the 10th (with English dubs). Although other channels seem to have that. They aren't very long, 15 mins episodes, that's 2 and a half hours. We'll see.

I keep all the urls bookmarked and gonna apply them ad hoc. All our friends from /dobrochan/ are welcomed. If there is a popular demand I'll throw any of the ones you listed. Except Red Heat, I want to stream that in February in itself.
 >>/18320/
Cool, thanx. Hopin' you'll like it.
Suzumiya was ment the Disapearence move not the whole series, but as you like.
Sorry for Yesteryear's snow, thing is kinda worth it. There is version on Youtube with some kind of dub, but I don't sure how ok is it. I think it's possible to find it somewhere. I can try to look up for it myself, if you say what format it should be (just page link, only straight to video links, is download/torrent link ok).

Besides yours, there were two other suggestions:
1. Technotise Edit & 1, a Serbian anime
2. La Llorona, the 2019 Guatemalan horror-thriller soemthing.
To be honest have problems with all three. The first one is that I have to be willing to watch the feature twice on the same day, since there are 2 showing times, and I'm not fond of animes, and La Llorona sounds like I would watch it once. The second that the average guest of ours should be interested some - the first stream is for the Australian special care group they don't strike me as anime fans, and La Llorona might be too niche for them.
The Tale of Genji sounds like an interesting historical work, but in anime, I'm not sure. My other problem: where to get it.
Technotise Edit & 1 seems to be like Ghost in the Shell which I enjoyed surprisingly. However it needs subtitles, which needs to be edited because I got 5 and neither fits the video. Now when adding a subtitle into a video player it can be delayed and tune, but I have to hardcode it into the movie, cytube does not play it otherwise. So this is editing work I don't really want into it.
La Llorona looks fucking depressing to be honest. And not very eventful.
So I'm in quite the dilemma here.
I'm thinking solving the subs issue on Technotise Edit & 1, stream it on October 7th, then La Llrona on November 4th, close to All Souls' Day.
 >>/18757/
Genji suggestion here. I am going to upload it somewhere and post the link in this thread as soon as I have returned from my vacation.
Also, yes it's anime but a very comfy/artsy one. Not a big anime fan myself but this one I enjoyed.
