Users reporting lost media on several boards. Not sure what happened yet, or we can recover the lost images. For now it seems the whole html element that contains the uploads is missing from the posts, so it's not like the media itself in the db got lost.
But will see.
Figured out the cause, it's an exploit, but luckily only can be used for deleting media from posts and not full posts.
Had to commandeer a bunch of boards to disable the setting, transferred back them to the respective BOs immediately. Sorry about that.

Thanks for all the users who helped out, reporting the issue and giving tips.
It seems the bug is fixed, so no more deleting media from others' posts.
Still not sure about restoring things.

/co/ lost all it/s nandroid thread images almost surgically from the rest of the board if that's relevant, even a nandroid post mid way through timeline in another accidental thread didn't get touched
 >>/18430/
Yes, it is relevant, as only a few handpicked boards were targeted, most of which weren't even on the top boards list. One of these boards probably made this pathetic skiddie extremely mad by posting things he didn't like, so he threw a cute little temper tantrum.

Quite a few boards were targeted, from the top of my head, I could name seven, plus co apparently >>/18430/ >>/18431/ , I think he tried deleting on others but user deletions were disabled there already.
On some boards he left those cryptic posts, on others he did not.
He made a bunch of those posts on /agatha2/ as well, I mistook them for normal spamming at the time. So this exploit only worked if user post deletion was enabled? I had it disabled and I haven't noticed any images missing, but I can't be sure.

... bbg, rapport, librejp, turul, argentina, kc, b, godscommunity, operate ...
All right that's nine, the rest I have to check.

 >>/18436/
Yes, just with user post deletion enabled. There was a bug that allowed deleting images of any post.
Most notably polru isn't missing anything, because user deletions are disabled. I did not have to check it, I know it for a fact. Others I had to make sure.
Anyway, the bug is fixed now.

It would probably be a huge chore restoring so many images in so many threads.
That does raise the question though, were the images deleted off the site or just from the post? and If the images were not deleted off the site would it be possible to get links to those images for their respective boards?
