I just watched the Gameoverse animated short. They call it a "pilot" because they don't know what pilots are, the credits of the short are hilarious, there's maybe 200 names so it's like "oh... not only are you never making more of these, who's ever in charge here, you're never working in this industry again buddy."
And it's a good example of why pilots should exist. If this was an actual pilot made by one person with a vision with some help from others, then when the show is actually made they could fix the issues. Because the idea of the show is interesting, but nothing else works, the characters are not very good don’t go well together and their voices are all off, that could be fixed when the show is actually made. But they already made the show instead of starting with a pilot. So it's "cooked" it's "chopped" and that sucks because the idea of the show could have been used, now it's gonna be not used.
