This seemingly random picture is actually one of the concept references for Ulla the yellow half-dragon hybrid. Ulla is one of our moons (proto-tulpas if you like) just as Joy and Gwen were at one point. She doesn't have a tail or back spikes though.

In this alternative version of Earth, they have 1950's level electronics but insane biological manipulation technology. They can incubate babies to full term and splice genes, all that.

So they manage to create three subspecies of humans, (Kindred) magic users basically, avian race, and (Earthkin) like brutes where the males are like pro wrestlers and the females are like amazons, tall but not flipping butch.

So they want a mix of the races in an attempt to make the ultimate race, sounds familiar. In this version there was no WWII and no nuclear bombs, so European countries wiped out the middle east and expanded into China. The US was eventually annexed by the new world government to become like the united states of Europe or something under the crown. EUSA or something.

Well, India was completely enslaved and starved out by a mixture of Marxism, and Communist supremecy by China in order to maintain enough land to maintain themselves but they were eventually severely diminished by biological WMD's attuned to specifically kill... you know, the inferior vanilla races of man. All that's then left is the "advanced" subspecies and a couple oddly immune races that are a mix of Russians, Eastern Europeans and Chinese and an independently developed version of Kindred in Japan that basically stay out of everyone's way. Africa is basically unlivable due to biological war.

So anyway, they fail to mix the races until they try to unite them with reptilian DNA and create dragons. Then through some sort of genious they mix dragon DNA with another subspecies of human. Unfortunately they're sterile but they keep trying. Ulla was let go because she was kind of too well loved by the scientists to terminate. (There's more to this of course.)

The timeline is tricky, don't try to decipher it from this.

I write incredibly long books, 200k words or more that I really enjoy writing and reading that will likely never get published and I don't care. I have a dozen so this makes 13. I have enough money anyway. And the likelihood of them being best sellers is probably less than 1%.

Also, though I can write them and produce professional cover art, I'm not really an editor and they're not romance so they'll have poor sales anyway. You wouldn't believe the crap the editors will cut and misundstand. I would probably want to take an online course on editing novels and do it myself if I was serious. They're very fluffy.

I also write technical works that get heavily edited by editors and lawyers that I sometimes don't recognize when I get them back for approval and those do get published and I get stipends for them to the tune of maybe $1500-2000 lifetime each and they peter out in a few years. I have over 2 dozen of them that were published and generated a pittance to supplement my other two income streams. But I write these on the job and get paid to do it as well because it looks good for the metrics.

In my other job , in the entertainment industry, I just have to be me and basically be a slave but it pays as well as my technical job for less hours and it's fun. It's also a steady income.

Of course I'm maximizing investments but I still spend more than I should. I am kind of stuck working long hours for the next 10 years or so. The second job is my own business so I need to work to keep it going, but it will eventually pay me without any effort so it's worth it. Assuming it doesn't fold.

I haven't had a "vacation" or a "day off" since 2014 and believe me I'd be bored out of my mind and feel like I'm wasting my life because that's how I felt with just the one full time job. It did contribute to my depression though but that's long gone and far behind me.

I dunno what's going on with that pic.
It wasn't deleted because the element is in the DOM with the link pointing to the file.
Try uploading the same pic pls. This >>/149/ isn't the same, I can tell from the pixels. And the file size actually.

 >>/152/
It was fixed. And even then the OP couldn't be deleted with that "trick".

 >>/199/
I was hoping OP would repost it.

 >>/200/
I did nothing. The reupload fixed the broken shit in the db, or on the disk or whatever. I guess it was some random chance of corruption of the file or something.
Mongo has a db-rebuild function, we had been hoping that would fix it, but it did not.

You could probably see the image because it was cached in your browser.

The whole thing could have been a big deal if it was intentional but it was just some server error. Also I don't like having broken shit on my board. Well whatever, everything turned out fine.
