General discussion about virtual reality headsets, games, software, and how its overly expensive but also unlike anything on the market.
I have been enjoying Pavlov since its custom game modes have gotten pretty good and it reminds me of Gmod before all the children came.
Virtual reality has been a dumb gimmick for some 30 years now and in that span it hasn't once justified itself in making a genuinely great game. Maybe it's time to wake up? It is only useful for masturbation sims.
Im not even a streamer watcher, but the polemic with that Ninja faggot have made me discover Mixer. And I must say that, compared to the few time I went to Twitch, it worked better than Twitch. But that my small experience with both sites.
Because maybe I start using one of the stream sites (Watching some streams is not bad to enjoy), I want to bee sure if Mixer is all that good, or if anyone here thinks Twitch is better. Mixer only problem at first look is that is in the hands of Microsoft; But still Twitch with is retarded policies doesnt make it appealing. So redpill me on these sites. Or is there any better (And populated enough) alternative to these two sites?
It's the same reason people watch sports, it's entertainment. Most people suck at games so they get to watch someone who's a lot better than them play, or someone who is funny. That's basically it. And the chat is usually just shitposting or game discussion.
As for your question, mixer seems to be much faster. The streams load in <1 second as opposed to about 4 or 5 on twitch. Also mixer automatically shows you the past ~30 or so chat messages when you first join. That's all I've noticed, I watch a couple osrs streamers occasionally and checked out mixer.
youtube-dl grabs the raw stream, just feed the link to mpv and go
> but the polemic with that Ninja faggot
how much they payed for him to switch?
I happened to get a new PC
(don't ask, assume it was a gift)
and realized I don't even know any games that would require this much power.
What modern games, that can utilize an RTX 2070, aren't total trash and are at least worth pirating?
> Most graphics-demanding titles are shit for gameplay.
This, hard. Most of the meaningful dependency is now on CPU.
Play MOOM on 4K Ultra-Nightmare. It's actually pretty good.
Other than that look into emulators with Vulkan renderers. Nshittia's Vulkan support may be inferior to AMD but you've got a fucking 2070 so you should be able to handle RPCS3 just fine.
Or you could sell it and get a Vega/5700 to join the linuxgaymen master race
Not even mediocre playable ones?
I mean, I played through the fucking Fable 3 and Re:Zero (and it's the same game after all).
> Maybe pirate Minecraft with Path-Tracing
Right, thanks for the reminder.
I also accidentally have a purchased copy of minecraft; but I played through it and various modpacks too much already.
Off the top of my head, Kangdom Come: Deliverance, Divinity OS II, ELEX, Metro: Exodus, EDF 5, Ashes of the Singularity, Sekiro, Nioh, Forza Horizon 4, Soul Caliber 6, DMC 5, Yakuza 0/Kiwami, Ace Combat 7, R2make, etc.
Also, there's sims like DCS or X-Plane, but if you're autistic enough to enjoy them, you probably already play them.
> Off the top of my head
Thanks, that does seem like what I'm looking for.
> but if you're autistic enough to enjoy them, you probably already play them
That is, indeed, exactly so.
Good ol vidya vids.
Do any of you play osu!?
If so, what do think of it? I personally think it's hilarious how it performs better through Wine on Linux than native Windows.
> I personally think it's hilarious how it performs better through Wine on Linux than native Windows.
Lots of games do that, mostly older ones. Windows can't even stay compatible with itself because lolmicrosoft.
Anyone else play this? Do you pk? Do you pvm? Do you skill? Do you just do random shit?
You have firecape at least, right?
Inferno if you're a big guy.
PSA: Trinity is no longer an option but there is an exploit demonstrated for 3.71. If you can, STAY ON 3.60 OR 3.65! DON'T UPDATE BEYOND 3.68!!!
And most importantly, are you still having fun?

> DanMachi ARPG game due for release on PS4, PC, Switch, and Vita
Unfortunately only Switch and PS4 versions confirmed for Asian release, but Vita versions have a chance of getting an unofficial translation port.
> KanColle Kai English translation is in the works
Just what you're expecting. It is a work-in-progress however.

I like this guy and his crusade against Games as a Service, and he has made a good collection of single player indie games I haven't heard of.

Fleeing the Complex is basically a flash game and to play this game you should have Flash Player and Adobe Air in your device. One can play this game in this smartphone, tablet, computer and laptop. Henry Stickmin is the hero of the game and in this sequel of the game due to his past actions he is imprisoned in an area named as The Wall.
Destroyed by rampart mismanagement (i.e. corruption.) It's sad how too much money can often easily destroy projects, which is the opposite of what you'd think. The best games are often indie games now rather than soulless commercial junk food.
"In March 2017, CIG announced Star Citizen would eventually use the Vulkan API and drop support for the DirectX 12 API to support Linux and pre-Windows 10 users."
Changing graphics APIs six years in... This is what happens when a noob with a dream hits it big with a kickstarter campaign. Anyone who has done this before knows fundamentals like whose tech they're going to use and why before they even start talking to others about it.
They're still probably lost. Vulkan 32 bit doesn't work, so unless you are consciously leaving 32-bit platforms behind or actually need a multithreaded graphics API (you don't, and if you do you're doing it wrong) OpenGL is still the way to go for multiplatform games like this.
I'd eat that.
