Yes and no, it can be challenging to not take his behaviours personally sometimes. Last Monday I made a pros and cons list about quitting my job, then I just chose to call sick for the next shift and got myself a 6 pack.

He gets to go out a lot more than he used to, every day shift he has with me we go out.
Try to find out if there are social groups around you could join, even just casual ones. For me it's a mix of church and a men's group every Thursday morning I go to where we get coffee and chat.
