The gigantic asteroid, also known as 99942 Apophis, is looming as a potential threat to Earth and was once given a worrying 2.7% chance of striking our planet in 2017. However, the celestial body, identified in 2004, is predicted for Friday the 13th.
But as the ominous date approaches, scientists now reassure us that we're safe from this danger until at least until 2029. Canadian astronomer Paul Wiegert has recently expressed his concerns that an impact could happen earlier than we think.
On TikTok, users are making light of the situation, with @onebigfact posting a video claiming that Apophis, stretching over 1,000 feet wide, might make a close approach on Friday, April 13, 2029, even closer than the Moon and possibly visible without telescopes
