I could delete a post to make space to use post number 1000 to link to the new thread.
I keep forgetting about about this endchan quirk of the 1000 posts limit, specially when immersed in a race.

I did give a fair warning, that we would need a new thread earlier. for test purposes tismbert acts as lab rat and I deleted his post, begging us to fill the thread to 1000, so I could post a NEW THREAD message.

simon CARR is on the TDF starlist with his first race being Occitanie where's hes been shit. surely cofidis is not this much of a poverty team?

Surely it is an *nglicized surname of his Polish ancestors as GŁÓG means hawthorn.

I will also be on my turd batch of ratatata in two weeks. Since I have made it closer to a confit after Norbert's quick look it is THE shit.

> The International Cycling Union (UCI) wants to follow up on the statements that Dries De Bondt made to our website after the Giro d’Italia. The Decathlon AG2R rider stated that he did a front turn for Richard Carapaz in the twentieth stage, after a suggestion from EF Education-EasyPost team manager Ken Vanmarcke that such an action could result in a contract for the following year with the American team.

why do people go the the gym when they could just be doing some physical labor at home; and have it actually be useful instead of costing money, traveltime and a /fit/dick up your ass?

Me for example, watered my crops this morning, did some turnover to create a new plot of land for next season, baked a bread (when it's 30° kneading counts as physical labor x2) and masturbated.

 >>/19282/
I'm a poorfag with no land, not even a balcony.
Working my plot wouldn't be also as time and result efficient as targeted progressive overload within a short time frame.
I may as well be powerwalking with those nordic walking stix instead of riding and core building. I am not getting there in any type of metric in any reasonable timeframe, likely at all.
Also, I live close to my gym where I walk (another reason why I will not attention post my 200 deadlift when it happens) and do not frequent any /fit/fag forum. I am not fit either btw, only averagely strong for my weight.

But I have masturbated so that cardio is IN.

 >>/19302/
Very simple, very nice. I would only add some green stuff, preferably chives.
Potatoes, eggs, lettuce and/or cucumber with cream plus kefir or buttermilk as drink is something I always look forward too when summer comes around.
So now. Wonder how a French/Polish fusion with adding ratatat to that will work.

 >>/19325/
It doesn't make sense to splurge obscene amounts of money on Remco when your main goal is winning the tour. Remco will most likely never even win another GT, let alone the Tour and his ego is too big to become a good domestique.

 >>/19335/
You wont get a rider like Remco without paying him that kind of money. He is one of the most successful riders at the moment. You think they aren't already paying Roglic TDF contender money?

 >>/19353/
quick step is already paying him a lot, they broke open his contract not that long ago
I doubt ineos would go over it since ratcliffe is a penny scrounging fuck now

 >>/19376/
the upper jew also completely rinsed him in an interview last year

> “How could we say we had value for money? We signed Chris to be the leader of our Tour de France team and he’s not even here so that cannot be considered value for money,” Adams said bluntly while also highlighting his respect for the seven-time Grand Tour winner.
> “This is not a PR exercise. Chris isn’t a symbol, he isn’t a PR tool, he’s supposed to be our leader at the Tour de France and he’s not even here, so no I couldn’t say he’s value for money.”

> It has wrongly been reported that Froome is earning as much as €5 million per season - Froome denied that to Cyclingnews back in 2021.

> Cyclingnews understands that the figure was linked to a sponsor that eventually opted not to come on board, with Froome estimated to earn around €1 million from Israel-Premier Tech.
> Adams has already explained that Froome has a rolling contract that allows the four-time Tour de France winner to race on until he is 40 in 2025 but the agreement with Adams also means Froome will retire after his time at Israel-Premier Tech.

A friend of mine had an unfortunate accident at our last race where his Canyon saddle screw "gave up" and in true Bertacek fashion instead of fixing it, he decided to buy a new bike. He chose a "Superior" brand.
Anyone of you ever heard of it?

> 32 degree commute felt absolutely fine
It's always impressive how fast the body adapts. A couple of weeks and poof. Not sure what changes actually happens but it's impressive

 >>/19465/
I don't remember you consulting /cyc/ buying the spesh gr*vel bike and you bought the canyon on the first day when the new version of the endu-master-race came out.

 >>/19472/
I put on private by default, yeah. Don't really care about privacy but I hate people spamming strava with their commute so I put it like that and mainly share big rides

I have just found some Dima who delivers food in my town.
This asshole does 100km everyday which on one hand is not a lot but in my small town it is quite a lot.
Too bad there is just speed, he is not very fast.

WIEBES still hasn't lost a bunch sprint this year. even when racing for a top 10 she still has been the fastest from her group in every race. hopefully one of the other women sprinters will discover what strength training is and we will have some competition.

I want to pick one cofidis rider. but which one? the last time I picked frentin and and Aniołkowski, but it was fucking Renard that was their best sprinter.

 >>/19512/
You have to bet on the right jockey in the whole race bucket but then you also have to bet on the right jockey in the team subbucket who will be racing in the whole race bucket in that day. Yeah nah.
I would like to pick some Waerenskjold or maybe Dehairs but what if it is not their day and guy nr 3 is in A form?
Just picking the fastest Danes and clear nr 1s.

Remco supposedly is seething really hard at how bad he was in the dolphin on training camp.
I smell a massive breakdown coming in the tour

 >>/19515/
his latest strava caption:
> Vos paroles sont durs, mais n’ont aucun effet sur moi.
he said it guys. he's not seething at all. you can stop saying he's seething now. he literally doesn't care.

> The UCI will start using a new points system in the WorldTour and ProSeries from next year. The International Cycling Union is increasing the number of points that can be earned in a WorldTour race, among other things. This will allow the cycling association to give races with a strong field of participants more weight in the battle against relegation.

the age of farming is over

 >>/19544/
Your lucky then, I live in a city with a big university and therefore lots of young people and the whole crowd that was big into running clubs the last two years now all finally migrated to cycling. We already had lots more cyclists in the last few years but this summer it exploded. The roads are unironically clogged with group rides on weekends now. Even on my gravel rides into bumfuck nowhere I nowadays meet other riders regularly (less annoying there though).

 >>/19547/
if they are a lot lighter than your previous wheels you actually feel it when riding out of the saddle. If you buy real deep wheels and/or carbon spoked wheels the ride feels harsher thats for sure
you don't "feel" speed increases from aero if thats what you mean, you can see it in ride stats if you have something to benchmark it against

Same. I even considered Kamna. I considered almost all the right guys again. Too bad I picked at least three wrong ones, after adjusting meself into a knots, AGAIN.

But I have found peace now, again, like last year.

Oh, I didn't really seriously consider ONLEY, thought his sprint for 4th-7th will be a big overpay.
Turns out the sprints are for 1st.

Oh he is 100 percent fit enough, but maybe considering his lately spring of FTP he went for a shorter distance to maybe even G3 it instead of comfortably finishing the long one.
But I guess he was talking about it and booking last TdF so it is what he booked a year ago.
Sorry for not paying enough attention to the Brtek thread.

Tour de Suisse has been one of the great stage races of the year so far, with GC action going down to the WIRE! And to celebrate, we have another interesting bottle to discuss on /WORLD TOUR WINE/ !!

Today's wine is from Vetroz, a little town in Valais not far from Sion. To be honest, stage 2 was the closest but it's very difficult to source Swiss wines from anywhere but Vaud and Valais in the United States. This is a Dole, which is a red blend composed of Pinot Noir, Gamay, and a funny little Swiss grape called Diolinoir. It is a cross between Pinot Noir and Rouge de Diolly, an obscure French grape. Developed in the 1970s, it is popular in Switzerland due to its early-ripening properties, adding dark color and structure to Alpine wines.

Cave les Ruinettes Serge Roh Dole de Vetroz 2021 ($30)

Now, being a blend of my two favorite red grapes (Pinot Noir and Gamay), Dole reminds me of Passe-Tout-Grains - a red blend found in Burgundy which I really enjoy for its freshness and lively fruit. If you ever see Passe-Tout-Grains on shelves, try it; it's reasonably priced even from great producers.

This pours a dark red/purple. The depth of color I attribute to the Diolinoir, as Alpine Pinot Noir tend to be quite light in general. The nose has soft earth and forest, iron, not much fruit. There is no detectable oak. The palate is all earth, with light strawberry, and mouth-watering acidity. The finish is short and muted. Really no fruit character, but it also doesn't have the herbal/floral notes I enjoy in Alpine Pinot Noir which tends to be lean.

Really disappointing. It's not unpleasant, but just an uninspired example of Pinot and Gamay. Once again (this is the running theme in Switzerland), this should be a $10-12 bottle, not a $30 bottle. I'll see if this opens up at all with some air. I'm trying to decide which country had a worse showing on /WTW/ -- Australia or Switzerland. Although the worst of the Aussies were the worst wines of the year, I think Australia is saved by that phenomenal By Farr Pinot Noir from the Cadel Evans Race which is one of the top three wines of the year so far.

So, sorry Switzerland. You are at the bottom of the power rankings. Your only hope is a poor showing from Canada or China.

I am predicting a rookie mistake of feeling a bit too good, thus going a bit too hard, together with the ofishel race aura baiting you in.
Did that a few times when I r*n mid distances in my highschool, then I switched to diesel and never looked back.

 >>/19663/
as you've seen the prix de combativité handed out French wine. Yes, most wines from Valais are dogshit only kept alive thanks to tax payers money. Maybe some Suisse wine from another region may redeem itself, but that's subject to availability in burgerlands.

 >>/19667/
It is what you do even on a lazy day kek, but that is also why I considered he may be doing a shorter distance.
Not to bring down a fellow bert who makes me look weak but because if he wants to do what he usually does on 40-80km rides but now on a 140km stretch - there will be conversations with God Almighty held, and they will happen very soon.

Ok, this is it, saddling my trusty MTB and going to find a decent vinho verde so it can still go to the fridge before true evening starts.
This is far too hot.

So it happened AGAIN.
We can blame the fraudulence, we can blame fatigue, we can praise the scorching heat, but the truth is it's simply not enough. Wattage, determination, you name it, it all stinks.

I don't even know what happened, compared to last week's race, it was night and day. Even when I was riding to the the start, some 15 km, my HR was already much higher than normal, 140 in Z2, get out of here. I blamed the nervousness after witnessing many a life ending injuries just a week ago, I don't know. The nervousness was around me, only one chill was sir Wiggo shooting up a line behind porta poties,

Then it started, I don't think I even went that hard. I saw some deaths on tram lines (as is tradition) but then came first climb. I rode it as hard as during recon and felt alright but then we entered open fields with no shade and I just exploded. Did all the 2018 parade. 2eme, 3eme, 4eme pelotons, you name it, were sprintings by and couldn't even get onboard. While HR still rocket high for the low watts

I will have to consult with the team and the coaches but the fact is Bert BERTACEK once AGAIN failed to perform on a BIG day.

P.S. I had 0 (nada) protein bars too, only two gels and some proper energy bar before start

 >>/19586/
Lots of jam, bread, juice, white rice, pasta. For example yesterday I did a 5h ride, so I ate:
Breakfast: 150g oats, 100g raspberry jam, 200g white bread
During ride: 400g sugar
Lunch: 300g white rice, 1l chocolate milk, 300g tofu with about 500g vegetables
Then in the evening some veg lentil curry, white rice, lots of cornflakes with milk etc.
Had about 7000kcal all in all, some 1200g of carbs.

 >>/19701/
I just look at the nutritional info. Rice and pasta are about 75g per 100g (dry), the bread I eat is around 50g per 100g, juice is around 120g per litre, chocolate milk 80g per litre, jam around 50g per 100g, a banana has some 20-25g. It's very easy to compute after doing it for so long. Same for total kcal

 >>/19703/
Ah I misunderstood. I just aim for total calories, for me (big guy) 2800kcal plus bike kJ in kcal is usually around maintenance. So for example yesterday I did 4100kcal in riding so I ate just under 7000kcal. And I try to eat very carb-heavy foods so that carbs make up around 60 percent or more of the total energy.

> “Apparently he is furious,” Dirk De Wolf told Het Nieuwsblad, describing Evenepoel’s mood during altitude training in Tignes. “First of all, he is on his own. It has to improve.”
> De Wolf, a former professional with close ties to the Evenepoel family, has been in contact with Remco’s father since the Dauphiné ended. While he made clear that Evenepoel is “koleirig” (furious) primarily with himself, the frustration also extends to the team setup.
> “The team was not good in the Dauphiné: forty men in front and no one else with him. Remco who has to get refreshments himself. That has to improve in the Tour,” De Wolf said, capturing the isolation the Soudal – Quick-Step leader reportedly felt in the mountains.

At one point, Widar got up and walked away, almost like a sleepwalker, towards a meadow. He dragged himself along, then dropped to the ground and started crying again.”

He's not wrong. They've had Remco since 2019 and still haven't built a proper team around him for races like that.
