Please be assured that the /WTW/ offices have been busy this week, but I am currently out of office on assignment doing BIG climbs, and I refuse to phone post a /WTW/ edition so look out for some posts on Sunday.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

Making lecso but the more classic Hungarian way, not Polish which is basically undercooked ratatouille with kiełbasa and boczek.
I expect bossman to have some input when I post a photo.

2019 red bull bought all the rights and broadcasted it perfectly for free on the internet. This went so well that people started watching it again and hbo bought the rights. Now it's shit again and probably no one watches it lmao

Not if his rivals will be something more than Bige Fridge and RPG. But it is still kino to unfold with UAE.
Moisturized, unbothered, in his lane ELITE while betrayal kino ensues around him.
Will Vinester get in his jersey to Madrid. Will Soler do something or is it more like Sayonara for him haha.
I bet Big Schart wouldn't mind eating some either.

I'd bismillah it for him but I have read some of his comments before the race and flipped him for GALL rather quickly.
> if there are 30-40 guys on stage 2 i will be there, if 10 I am not going to be there
> we will see in the third week
Kudos for are chemist Patje for picking him anyways, I don't blame him although I would be the lamest safe picker if I was in GC lead.

BIG race today, more than 1700m vertical in a ~3h race. Includes the mythical Col du Rinnekoti with a short 15% section. The field doesn't look too strong on paper so I am hoping for a podium even though my weight is a big disadvantage.

he's not doing guanxi now too. french curse bros we must wait another year. realistically can he break it at a (real) one-week next year? even a weak T-N or Catalunya he will still probably be against an almeida, remco or etc

Ended up 5th in the race from the break. I was alone with no teammates and the big team with 5 strong guys bullied me, attacking one by one and letting me reel it in, then immediately going with another 1 or 2 guys. My average power for the first 1h was 310W and I was mostly in the front riding my own tempo as nobody else wanted to reel them in, heh. Ended up in the winning break halfway through, but I didn't have any sprint left in me to contest for the podium. Oh well, it was fun, averaged over 280W for 3h so decent eggs, but I've got to learn to race smarter some day

he could run lower pressures but that doesn't mean he won't press 8 bars into those 28s that actually measure 31mm and came with the bike

anyhow I got fucking milked by the wind and spent around 80 minutes in the rain. I can once again confirm that rim brakes + carbon not working in the rain has got to be a meme from the early 2010s, 0 difference to dry conditions for me q.e.d.

Del Toro willingly gave up a Giro win for pretty much no reason. Dumbest move I remember seeing in cycling perhaps ever.
Christen might be a low IQ racer but in a lot more common way of spending his energy too liberally.

This was such a difficult ride, holy shit
Tried to ride all the climbs at 300 Watts, the cote at 56th km I PR'd but then I was totally gone.
Fortunately I fueled correctly, yes, you read that right, I came back online after 20 kms of pain.
Last 30 km I felt so strong despite legs hurting like no tomorrow.

> "My biggest goal this weekend is to stay on the bike for a while," Van der Poel laughs. "The most important thing is to try to finish the race and have a full race under my belt. That should hopefully help me for the World Championships in two weeks."

Rate my lecso bossman, it is runny but the paprika already had more than enough.
Didn't add any water, used roma tomats, don't use any other tomats anyways.

lost a step in bunch sprints and the koers is not as fitting to him as the vuelta. the only stages that should've fit him so far was stage 3 which he was strong enough to win but choked the final corner. youd still expect him to do better in the bunch sprints but even in the giro he was a reduced sprint baby, not enough of those in this vuelta. he still will clean the points jersey however because jappe is fat and will DNF anyway.

 >>/39852/
I only wanted Narvaez to fit in but I was left with 16 and I've had no one really feeling like a great pick for that.
I am betting nobody on UAE (but Narvaez) can finish strong enough from a small group, these stiers, timmekes, christian will be in points but just maybe top 10, probably more like top 20.

That's why I wasn't too bootyblasted about fitting him in, it would be all about him still having it via Tour of Niemcy and being the only one with a punch on a flat and or falsopiano.
You also have to guess which one of these bullies will end up as the designated "we're not chasing him" guy. NOT picking 4 UAEs, for shure.

 >>/39861/
Yes that's why I thought there will NOT be a sprint. These guys will be fighting over who can betray the other first. Like that race where Jantje Christen caught up with Del Toro, immediately attacked him and then they both got kwabbed by Ciccone haha

> In March 2025, Vainšteins was arrested at Orio al Serio airport in Bergamo, Italy, after landing on a flight from Riga, after his whore ex-wife, a former Italian resident, filed a case against him over non-payment of his child support obligation. Some reports suggested that the figure he owes was close €70,000. The couple had divorced in 2001. In 2018, he was sentenced to a four-month prison sentence and a €300 euro fine, and a warrant was issued for his arrest over non-payment, but he did not serve the sentence.
Looks like his career was cut short not because of Dopage but because he got SAGAN'd

I'll say, Almeida being 38s behind Vingo by the end of week 1 is within what I expected. However, I expected that gap to have been built through the TTT and through Friday's stage..

 >>/40058/
I'd do so well if it was last year and I just vibed it out. I would 100% pick the guys who are currently strong in hilly terrain, 100% Kooij Magnier De Lie , I probably wouldn't even look at the profile because Plouay is Plouay, what changes could there be.
But here we are.

> vine working for his polka dots
> ayuso rat incarnate
> solarus rat incarnate working for a top 15 GC and sprints for 6th
> novak and gross shart don't even do half the work they do for pogi
every race without pogacar, how do they manage to do it
aside from that also not a single rider in the top 30 in bretagne

 >>/40080/
I think what Vine is doing is fine in isolation and he usually doesn’t refuse to help when he's really needed.

If anything, I'd say he's one of the riders being screwed over by Ayuso. Not only are his stage chances cut in half, but he also has to take over a bigger share of the domestique work.

Ah, I have not noticed. Thanks.

 >>/39829/
 >>/39830/
Well, it looks like something.
Lecsó is fine chopped onions fried on lard, sliced paprika and tomato fried some I prefer it al dente, some cook it soggy. Spices: salt, pepper, ground red pepper. Can be made hot or "sweet" depending on paprika.
Popular to serve it with rice on the side, or mixed in, with various types of fried sausages, kolbász, hot dogs, and/or salo the lard can be replaced entirely with the fat from the fried salo.
It's a very simple recipe, and I like it in itself the most with some fluffy white bread. Tho I'm fine with eating it like above, or with freedom fries, and fried chops so it can be a side dish to some meats.

 >>/39830/
Still trying to figure out what is this.
It has meat, onions, paprika, potato, and from the description I gather: tomato. So I think the closest is gulyás. Generally the onions should be chopped fine, but it could be a version of it.
As long as it tastes good, then it works.

 >>/40110/
 >>/40113/
Thanks bossman, it is a simple lesco as you described it.
Paprika - only the yellow pointy one, smoked bacon and roma tomatoes.
The onions were sliced, not chopped fine, I was too lazy that day.
The spices are exactly salt, pepper, ground bell pepper but with extra cayenne pepper for some heat.
It did go with bread too.
Don't know why it came out so watery, usually it looks way more like your first photo. Perhaps discarding the tomato seeds and all the water that is inside it would be in order, perhaps we are already getting greenhouse shitty tomatoes instead of the good, summer ones.

Besides that, for me it is bogracs.

 >>/40116/
Ah I see. So no potato.
As for tomato you could discard the fluid with the seeds better yet, drink it, its pretty gud or add the tomato earlier, let it steam away, then add the paprika. If the tomato turns to sauce its great too.

 >>/40120/
They aren't any good. At least the big commercial brands usually covering regions. Perhaps Dreher is fine. But I got used to them so I don't care.
Since the regime change things changed a lot. The big brand beer were purchased by Western companies, and they became more diverse, creating several varieties, the classic lager turned even more shit than it was before. On the other hand many small home breweries opened and they brew excellent stuff. In the last 15 years many meme stuff also opened, Western fads have strong influence.

 >>/40123/
Yeah, probably reducing the tomats would be the way, I am coming off a few batches of ratatouille which I am just reducing to near sauce consistency, thanks to our very own Norbert advice, so I threw everything in but left the pot open without a lid.
I am coming over to have a look after twenty minutes and I see a soup with the paprika slowly disintegrating. Yes well, we're having a lecso soup then. Went in well anyways, the taste is very distinct from the Polska leczo which has to have zucchini and often courgette in.
Thought that ground paprika will be too much extra but it is more than fine, you people and your paprika.

Well I have returned from my BIG trip and it is time to clear some business off my desk.

Firstly, the ascent of Whiteface Mtn went exactly as planned. I wanted to keep my HR out of threshold for basically entire climb which was successful. My new 36-tooth cassette was clutch as my average cadence for the climb was a measly 65 rpm.

The climb is a monster at 13km with 8.6% average gradient (1074 total vert gained). The lower pitches are steepest with a half kilometer average 11-12% but then tapered to stay consistently hard for the rest of the climb. The climb was gorgeous with immaculate road conditions and insane vistas throughout of the High Peaks wildness of the Adirondacks.

At the top, I was joined by Bertina who joined me for the short hike along a ridge to the true summit at 1483m, then we drove down.

I really do not like the 90 km/h speed limits on all the roads in the area but drivers were good, I don't think I was ever passed closer than like 2m.

Climb was light on traffic because it is a road to literally nowhere and has an insane toll.

> In his pursuit, Almeida also received little support from Tom Pidcock, who also heard about it. "But I saw he was on the limit. Maybe I missed a good teammate today. In the end, I was completely alone, but it is what it is."

meanwhile

> "I was quite tired today and my legs were still a bit sore, just like yesterday. That's why I took it easy," Ayuso told the Spanish press.

if he goes in the break after the rest day they should unironically remove him from the team

Is this years' transfer volume a bit stupid or what?
Didn't really follow it too much, it was always musical chairs for mid-shitters, occasional bigger name transfer and a bunch of promising kids either going to their parent senior teams or somewhere else senior.
Feels like half of the peloton cleans their whole capable roster names.

 >>/40184/
Who even is the GC rider they keep hiring domestiques for?
Is there another team with so much mountain support without a rider that is absolutely capable of finish in the top 10 of a GT and fighting for a top 5? Landismo, Chessman, Van WIlder, Cras, VPP, etc...
Is Lecerf their big GC project or do they have someone lined up for 2027 (their 2'26 roster is supposedly completed with Zana)?

Well we have completed the first week of a MIDDLING Grand Tour and that means it is time to catch up on our SENSATIONAL series of /WORLD TOUR WINE/ !!

I have been out of the /wtw/ office for the last week so a few bottles today to catch up. Rest assured, these bottles were actually drank the day of the appropriate stage, so hold your complaints to the board of directors.

Stage 5 of the Vuelta FINALLY involves some Spanish soil, but we have a bit of a cheeky wine here to celebrate the prolonged Grand Depart. The ITT is around the city of Figueres, the capital of Alt Emporda, and we have a wine from Alt Emporda to enjoy.

RIM Vins de Jordi Esteve "Contraban" 2021 ($36)

So this is a blend of Grenacha and Muscat d'Alexandria made it petillant naturel-style (please refer to former editions of wtw) with very natural vinification - unfined, unfiltered, unsulfured. Almost of the fruit is grown in Emporda proper, but there is a little bit of fruit from a friend's vineyard in Roussillon, hence the name 'Contraban' (it was previously illegal to trade across border during reign of Franco).

Pours a light red/ruby with some cloudiness and effervescence. The nose is initially super wild and barnyard but blew off pretty quickly. Nose has ripe red fruit of rhubarb and strawberry with some funky herbaceousness, super interesting. Palate is light and sparkly with lightly drying tannins around the crunchy fruit core.

There's some rough edges here with the brett and funk, but it is pleasant. Perfect for sitting around a fire in the late summer, went well with BBQ chicken. I apologize for the out-of-focus picture, I believe I was quite drunk by this point.

 >>/40239/
"I'm pretty tired and couldn't help making the new thread much," said Bert. "I'm not in the general classification for velogoomblin anymore, so there is no point in picking jonas just for the sake of a top 50 position. I wouldn't have been in the velogoomblin race anyway. Adjusting for another five minutes is pointless."

Looking through lidls roster makes me realize that I vastly overestimate that team. They have 3.5 good riders (mads, milan, ciccone, skelly) who prop them up, not that much in there for ayuso to ride gc with.
Any gt roster for sure has at least 1 sprinter+hjaelper+tip and idk if skelly and ciccone are okay with being hjaelpers

Trek can put together a good GT team if they can convince Ciccone and Skjelmose to be domestiques. Not sure how that's going to go though since they are used to having a lot of freedom.

Some (un)expected news has ROCKED the World Tour peloton! The only way we can wrap our heads around this VERY shocking news is with another sensational /WORLD TOUR WINE/ !!

This bottle marks the ninth stage of the Vuelta, which snakes along the valley between the Ebro River and the Sierra de Cebollera in the Northern Iberian Mountains. This is Rioja, one of Spain's greatest wine regions. It is famous for its complex, age-worthy red wines made chiefly of Tempranillo, heavily barrel-aged (usually in American oak). We have previously enjoyed a very nice bottle of Rioja Tinto in the Itzulia Basque Country but today are trying something a bit different.

Cuentavinas Arriscado 2023 ($115)

This is a blend of Garnacha Blanca, Tempranillo, and Viura old vines on mostly limestone soil in San Vicente de la Sonsieera. This is apparently biodynamic. It pours a pale yellow. The nose is extremely clean, really no oak to discern. There is light pineapple fruit and wet stone. The palate is medium, rounded but with a nice acidity that just cuts through the fat. The wine is profoundly mineral, with echoing stone.

For the price, this is too simple. It is finely built and the minerality is beautiful but there is very little interesting about this. Apparently prices shot up massively after a good review from the Wine Advocate for the 2022 vintage, but this is a bit of a disappointment.

I can move my shifter by hand if I really push it, even though I torqued it to 8nm on my carbon bars. The other side I cannot move even at 7.2nm. Is that the bar or the shifter that's fucked?

> "A lot has changed in the peloton since I turned pro in 2020. All those changes have also meant that the overall level in the peloton has increased so much that I sometimes feel like I can't compete anymore. And that's why I enjoy it a lot less.

> "Lennert's rehabilitation is taking longer than hoped," said Lotto team sporting manager Kurt Van de Wouwer in an interview with our website. "A return to the peloton is definitely not on the horizon."

> Moreover, it currently doesn't look like Van Eetvelt will be competing this season. "Right now, that's quite possible. If he's not fully training within the next week and a half, we'll have to draw a line under this year. Lennert has come back from a long way, and then we have to be willing to look to next year."

Should sue the team for forcing him to ride through injuries multiple times this year, or sue himself for being retarded

Ayuso's comments in full, fittingly published in cope:
https://www.cope.es/programas/tiempo-de-juego/noticias/dura-rajada-ayuso-uae-dictadura-20250902_3206768.html

> After hearing the news, Juan Ayuso said, "They did it to damage my image again. They talk about values and unity, and those are things I strongly agree with. Obviously, yesterday they also took advantage of some unfortunate words from Almeida, which I have discussed with Joao, and he has apologized to me because he agrees somewhat with what happened. I want to help. But of course, when there is one disrespectful act after another on the part of the team management, it also becomes difficult to unite and want to integrate."

> “Out of respect for my teammates and how well I've gotten along with them over the years, I would like to finish this Vuelta a España in the best possible way, and I'm very happy that at least now you know that too. Next year is going to be a very good year, I think, a new beginning, and well, I'm happy,” he continued.

> He continued: "I think that my relationship with my teammates, including Almeida, despite what people say, is good, and he deserves all the support I can give him. All the work done by the other six members, apart from Almeida, also deserves my contribution, and that's what I'm going to try to do. I would have liked to finish on good terms with the team because, throughout the negotiations, before the return, we were trying to come to a good agreement, but well, sometimes it seems impossible when it's more like a dictatorship and a unilateral power over you."

> As for why everything went so wrong, he says that's something "you'll have to ask them.
