> "I'm left with mixed feelings," he said in the post-race flash interview. "I really wanted to win today. We did everything we could to give me a chance at victory, but honestly, Joao deserved to win. He was incredibly strong. I did what I could, but I'm a little disappointed."
> Vingegaard sensed the mood on the Alto del Cordal, the penultimate climb of the day. "There I saw that he and his team were going all out for the stage win. They took the lead and they did well. My team too, by the way, because they controlled the stage all day. It's a shame for them that I couldn't finish it off. And for my family as well."

the fuck is his problem, oh no he's pacing for the win so now I can't do anything and am paralyzed with fear
what a fucking weird dude

> did everything i could
> not a single attack
i refuse to believe that you could follow at all on 23% and stay latched to his wheel and not at least have the little bit of oomph to try a dig at the end. flashbacks to the tour where he was "risking everything for the overall victory"

 >>/41663/
considering the gaps to the rest of the field (all of whom are frauds) the only possible interpretations of this result are:
1. vingegaard slurped for some inexplicable reason
2. vingegaard is only 1% faster then hindlel on a 40 minute climb and 3% faster than shitcock

There's a lot of red flags here. I really love a lot of natural and biodynamic wines but these sort of unapologetically rough-hewn cloudy Brett bombs are not really my thing.

One of the most HOTLY ANTICIPATED stages of the year has come to an end, and that means another SENSATIONAL /WORLD TOUR WINE/ !!

Today's stage finish on l'Angliru was a bit tamer than recent years, missing some fog and moto breakdowns, but still a great day of racing. Our wine today comes from just south of Asturias, in the appellation of Bierzo in the far northwest of Castilla y Leon. This is a hilly/mountainous region, where the grapes were brought here millennia ago by the Romans (who else?) who stripped these mountains for gold. The vast majority of wine grown here is fruity and intense Mencia red wines, but about 20% are Godello, today's grape, which makes a delightful white.

Bodegas y Vinedos Gancedo 'Capricho' Val de Paxarinas 2024 ($27)

Pours a pale straw with light gas. The nose is super lively with grapefruit, white pear, white flowers, sea spray. The palate follows with lovely chalky minerality, medium-plus acidity.

This is a great wine, lively, fresh, delightful in texture and fruit. I still keep thinking back to how disappointed I was in my Rioja which was literally 5x this price and half as enjoyable. Anyway, a great wine today for a great stage! Still so much good stuff to come!

UAE could realistically do 95 this year, and pog could break the record in canada. 43 more races, some napkin math they have the favourite for ~20 of those races. 100 probably out of reach unless they clean literally everything however

How do you guys deal with riding the same route everyday? All my rides (commute + weekend) start and end with the same boring 20 minutes to reach out of the city. It's getting pretty boring after 3 years. Reaching a point I don't even want to ride in the weekends

north korea level press release

> Baltimore celebrates IPT with a Fan Ride and Hundreds of Admiring Children

> “You are giving us so much strength and pride,” said Gary Bauman from Team Baltimore Bike for 4 Chai to team founder Ron Baron and Israeli rider Oded Kogut. Baron and Kogut warmly thanked the supporters, with Baron noting: “We have an enormous fanbase around the world,” before leading the fan ride.

> Kogut was equally touched, signing autographs, sharing hugs, and high-fives with the hundreds of kids who crowded around the team for pictures.

> Longtime IPT supporter Jason Perlman, who traveled from Washington to meet the riders, summed up the spirit of the day: “The IPT tifosi aren’t going anywhere. We stand by you in the good times and the hard times, as we’ve seen in the last week.”

After work I usually do the same hills, sometimes in different order, sometimes I do another side.

I also suffer from moments of boredom, during the winter I set some goals (big rides, big elevation etc.) but after those are done around june/july the only thing that motivates me is dropping friends on group rides (it helps having strong friends) or going for PR's to atleast have some acknowledgment of improvement.
Then winter rolls around again

cycling is such a weird sport sometimes
you see Jardi Christiaan van der Lee hanging on here with some riders that have won a lot in their career and then you look at what he's done this year and he looks like one of the worst rider in the pro peleton

How was your ride/rape today berts? For me it was 7x3min vo2max. I would like to do these on a hill but there is only one 1min hill nearby, so I compromised – first 2min on the flat, then a sharp right turn (power drop for 5s, unavoidable) and then smash the 1min hill. Felt pretty good, much easier to hold decent power compared to the flat. For some reason I find the trainer easier for vo2max than flat roads, but then hills are easier than the rape machine.

#1 Yes there is, the Finger Lakes in New York are developing a very strong reputation for Riesling and other cold-weather grapes like Gewurtztraminer and Cab Franc
#2 With there only being a single race in the United States, I decided to not worry about being as close to course as possible (Virginia apparently makes some decent wine), but rather something nice from anywhere in the US

Dear President Trump,

I am writing to request federal support for the return of the TOUR DE TRUMP (1989-1990) pro cycling race.

Pro cycling in the United States has fallen off a cliff in the last few years. In 2012, Lance ARMSTRONG was targeted and blacklisted by the Obama-era FBI, being stripped of his record SEVEN (7) Tour de France titles. In 2020, the last two professional-level stage races in the United States were cancelled - the Tour of California and the Tour of Utah. In 2024, the Maryland Cycling Classic (the only professional-level single day race in the United States) was cancelled due to the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse.

America needs to return back to the TOP of bike racing, in the spirit of heroes such as Lance ARMSTRONG, Greg LEMOND, and Major TAYLOR. We need an internationally renowned, World Tour-level (the highest level of pro bike racing) stage race, perhaps in the mold of the Tour de France (21 stages throughout the country). We have the most beautiful cities in the world, the most beautiful coasts, the most beautiful deserts, and the most beautiful mountains for the World Tour peloton to race through.

It is PATHETIC that countries such as the UAE, Denmark, Canada, China, and Belgium all have World Tour races, while the GREATEST NATION ON EARTH does not have a single race. We need to have a home race to inspire youngsters and return Americans to the TOP of the pro peloton.

Imagine the eyes of the world turning to America, watching an American cyclist winning a sprint down 6th Avenue in New York City or making a decisive attack on the slopes of Pikes Peak in Colorado or leading a charging peloton across the Sedona desert. Imagine a finale in Washington, DC, with a finish right on Constitution Avenue.

No country in the world is better equipped to have a world-class bike race, and it is a disgrace that America has let the rest of the world pass us by in this most egalitarian of sports.

Best personal regards,

Bert B Bertison, PhD

not a bad idea, I reckon road tires will also have way wider options in 1-2 product cycles at the latest which should be great for your roads so more tire clearance should be good
alternatively you could see if you can fit a crank with gravel gearing to your current bike

WHAT a day of racing we have had! SENSATIONAL racing in Spain, England, and now in Maryland (USA)! We have a very special edition of /WORLD TOUR WINE/, because we are celebrating a 1.Pro race! This is the only professional race in the USA and so I feel a need to celebrate it despite not being a .UWT race.

American wine is profoundly schizophrenic. 95% of it or more is total crap made by corporations in factories with shit grapes chock full of additives and sawdust. A very, very small fraction of it is made by amazing, passionate people farming their grapes in vineyards of unbelievable beauty and quality. Today's wine is the latter. Ted Lemon founded Littorai in 1992 after about 15 years working in Burgundy. The wines are wonderful; fresh, beautiful, elegant, flavorful. Littorai is one of two American producers that I buy yearly (the other is Kelley Fox in Oregon). Read his recent hagiography in the NYTimes: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/18/dining/drinks/callifornia-wine-littorai.html?unlocked_article_code=1.j08.2U7G.dSckbHE1gPeM&smid=url-share

Littorai "The Pivot Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2022 ($100)

Pours a lustrous ruby with purple highlights. The nose is elegant and deep, leading with red stone minerality, dried strawberry, dried cherry, light spice. The palate is structured, with powdered tannins over the fruit and minerality. This is one of the great wines of the year. It is supple but profound. It's actually a bit sad to open one of these because I know I have one less to drink.

I hope my fellow Berts give American wine a chance because we have some truly special vignerons here.

Brett works slowly, this one was ready to drink after 8 months in fermenter + bottle (bottled Dec 5th last year); I do mostly wild/mixed fermentation beers since I like em and they're often hard to find/expensive and you can't beat a real brewery for something like a classic lager

for brewers yeast, the beer is ready in a month

marathon xc is really hard there's no hiding unlike in road and gravel and its always full gas from the start from what I've seen. And its not done after 60-90 min
One guy in my club races that and the watts are crazy and he's not even winning shit either. I'm planning on getting into that as well (maybe) since road is not for me

So

PARIS-NICE
TIRRENO-ADRIATICO
VOLTA CATALUNYA
ITZULIA
ROMANDIE
DAUPHINÉ
TOUR DE SUISSE

are obviously the most prestigious week long races. QUIZ TIME: how many times did Remco EVENEPOEL win any of these

Gassed and already going down after a good but long season.
Too bad hindlel was so mediocre all year because I wasn't sure about GALL exactly because he is coming off a long season. Jai didn't seem like a better option.
Luckily cowboy Felix is doing something at least.

Imaginarlo: this break in sheepland is not too shabby, bert Julius, Alfred Brockwell, TRONCHON and the swarthy Beneluxer Wenzel. How about they go all the way and my Wenzel wins.
I will add a share of points to Patjebert's account for his recommendation.

Excuse me, besides he did SHIT besides that Down Under which as everyone knows count for NOTHING as the famous Assassins of Australia are the likes of WELSFORD, WILLIAMS or ROMO.

> Miguel Angel Lopez says that he was entirely clean, and not once doped in his whole cycling career.

> Man, I'm gonna tell ya, that is some bad luck. When the one guy who's clean, gets banned for doping

> That's probably ... you don't get worse luck than that.

> To prepare for the potential high temperatures in Rwanda, Evenepoel has scheduled a short internship in a warm location. "Will I be in Spain? I'm not going to say. Otherwise, everyone will be back there. In Rwanda, it could go either way. It could rain there like it did here this week, but it could also be hot and at altitude. So it will be very specific work. A combination of heat and altitude. I've already had a long period of altitude training, so an extra push is welcome now," concluded the man from Schepdaal.

You know you still need to tell WADA, right remco?

As I read the UCI regulations they should be first in line assuming they apply for a license and UCI doesn't arbitrarily decide they don't fulfil any of the other four criteria. It's a situation we haven't had before since the relegation system was introduced so UCI could easily make an exception if someone pays them some money under the table. What's Uno-X going to do about it?

If you need some bedtime reading you can check out the one called Part II - Road Races that has all the relevant regulations.

rode my first race today berts, went decent aside from the fact i genuinely get filtered with every bridge or hill
i now also understand the group 2-slurpage, 1 guy just rode away solo and was never to be seen again

 >>/42470/
300m in length, but i am not a watt/kg person, more so a 'mash pure watts for 30s' type
finished top 10 at least which was way better than i expected, anticipated poorly in the last lap sadly which cost me a podium

 >>/42472/
yes, the only ones i could not beat were the ones who clearly had great legs all race, a very honest result
 >>/42473/
thank you, it did really surprise me how bad people were at cornering, everytime there was a corner you couldn't pedal through i was able to gain places fast - very happy about that
 >>/42474/
i will be put on +10 minutes after one lap, very annoying rampa

> Omani national team rider Mohammed al Wahaibi drew the spotlight by winning the "grey jersey" (Most Aggressive Rider) sponsored by Badr Al Samaa Hospital, giving local fans a proud moment that highlighted the growth of Omani cycling.

"Wahhabi Deemed Most Aggressive By Local Hospital" would be my headline personally.

By the way earlier I was looking around for something to maybe improve the endchan experience and I found this idk if its been shared before
https://github.com/JacobSvenningsen/endchan-script
adds a few qol features such as image hover and post inlining and a post/file counter at the bottom of the thread with which no bert should be stuck in a dead thread for an hour no more
