German wikipedia article about Livarot even comes with some wine recommendations:
> Zu dem Käse passt ein Tokayer oder ein Pinot-Gris-Spätlese aus dem Elsass sehr gut. In seiner normannischen Heimat wird der Livarot mit einem Glas Calvados genossen.

> Remco Evenepoel denied participating in the Tour of Flanders yet again on Sunday, but the chance that he will start is indeed high. On Thursday, he is scouting the final part of the course with his Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe teammates. If the fatigue from the Tour of Catalonia is no longer in his legs and the reconnaissance goes well, his German employer will then announce that he is in the selection for the Tour of Flanders. Multiple sources confirm this to WielerFlits.

RVV is such an anti memco type race, it's just constant wattbombs with little in between
on the other hand something like dwarf door tomorrow he could really smother the competition between the hills

First the odds are made by people betting, so it's mostly belgian boomers doing that. Also I think it's safe to make him fav, their team really is the strongest and they're going ALL in on wout in every race. In san remo they sacrificed EVERYONE to bring him back, matteo did full cipressa, Laporte even dropped to do the last bridge and then paced the pogio

Well 2 hours to prepare some April first big if true headlines
> Pogi to ride for UAE Gen Z, so he can participate this summer at the Volta in Portugal
> Big Simon Yates press conference about last years Giro announced: "I want to come clean"
> Chris Froome to Visma confirmed
> Remco to start for Marocco at the next world championship
> UCI to study formula 1 rule changes and will run a trial with overtake mode and active aero at the next Tour de Romandie femmes
> Giro announces Turkey as the next Grande Partenza for 2027 - Badabag climb mentioned as highlight

quick step has just announced that Remco will ride RVV. Remco said that Patrick Lefevre taking the role of the DS for the race convinced him to start and he believes that he can win.
for bert news live from where ever that may be on this April 1st, Bert.

bertaczek successfully applied to be tankmans assistant at the next tour de czèchque. the roles includes tasks like cleaning tankmans glasses, translation work and supplying Pilsener Urquell and sourcing some Duvel inbetween.
for bert news live from the cyc office on this April 1st, Bert.

If I were you I'd do something like 1x20min at 270W and then a second 20min with 270-275W after like 10min rest, just see how that feels. For threshold that second one should be tough but not overly so, like you have to concentrate for the final 5min but breathing should still be controlled.

 >>/75112/
No problem! Once you find out your threshold and ride slightly below it, then longer intervals aren't that hard at all. I think the problem for most people is that the "ftp" is based on some more anaerobic test and their ftp intervals are then actually much over ftp and they feel horrible.

The bar I was in started getting really rowdy when Wout dropped gregoire and even more when he dropped the Dane.
When the gap started getting closer one of my friends started counting the gap out loud after every arch and corner and they started getting really aggressive kek.
Woutism is so fun.

Not on wednesday afternoons. And fridays after 3.
I swear that when I was on the road 15 years ago I was basically alone. Now I'm in traffic jams no matter what day or hour it is.
Now I go out at noon when everyone is lunching to avoid people.
Life as an autistic neet isn't easy.

 >>/75395/
Yes, don't remember all of it but as far as I recall he had a pinched nerve in his back due to a shitty bike position. I think they put him shorter on the bike and forced him to mobility exercises with crampenaerts.

> DSM is known for its strict protocols, which entail a host of rules. “When I signed with the team, I chose to accept the rules,” says Vervaeke.

> “But sometimes they went a bit overboard with their rules,” believes a foreign rider who wishes to remain anonymous. “The rules were extreme, especially regarding attire.”

> “For certain occasions, you were required to wear a long coat. On the starting podium, one time you were required to wear your gloves, the next time no one was allowed to keep their gloves on.”

> Waeytens: “After the Clasica San Sebastian, I once received a call from the team: ‘You worked well. Tom Dumoulin was super pleased with you,’ they said. ‘But we did notice that you weren't wearing your podium cap when you went to sign the start sheet.’”

made me look up this old gem, god these stories are always so good

 >>/75430/
> All the riders we speak to share the same opinion. “They don’t know what flexibility is at Team DSM.”

> “When I wanted to raise my saddle by 3 millimeters, the mechanic had to make 16 phone calls, so to speak,” says Waeytens.

> “First, the person responsible for the equipment had to be contacted and convinced why you wanted to raise your saddle. It ultimately took quite a while before that adjustment was actually made.”

> De Backer: “If you felt you needed more powder in your water bottle, that had to be investigated first. You then had to undergo all kinds of tests designed to demonstrate that you actually burn more energy during an effort.”

> “But that could drag on for a very long time. By the time it was finally allowed to get more powder, the season was almost over.”

 >>/75432/
Waeytens also blames the team for a lack of proper medical support. >"During a winter training camp, I kept saying that I wasn't feeling well. Things went terribly wrong in the classics after that, but the team refused to help me. So I had a stomach examination done myself."

> "What did it show? I had a stomach bacterium and a stomach ulcer. I had to take 120 antibiotic pills. But the team said: wait a while before taking antibiotics and ride Eschborn-Frankfurt first. I ruined my entire year with that. Mentally, I was completely burned out by then."

> We already know that this year’s European Championships will take place in Slovenia, but Slovenian reports suggest that the organizers also consulted Tadej Pogačar and Andrej Hauptman on the course design.

> With the Slovenian Cycling Federation aiming to maximize the chances of Pogačar victory, the priority was to create a demanding circuit, making a finish in Ljubljana unlikely from the outset.

> Among several proposed options, the Šenčur-based course was ultimately preferred. The route will feature repeated laps passing through Možjanca and continuing along a newly paved road… expected to be completed by the end of June towards Štefanja Gora. Riders will then descend past the lower station of the Krvavec gondola to Cerklje before heading back towards Preddvor, where the climb to Možjanca begins (2 km, 10,2% average with 195 m of elevation gain).

Totally normal for a professional sport hehe

> Pinarello points to an assembly error as the cause of the incident. “After an initial analysis, the damage appears to have been caused by overtightening the brake lever clamp, causing the handlebar to break at that spot,” the Italian brand told Cyclingnews. This clamp refers to the metal strap that connects the shifter and brake lever to the handlebar.

> In short: according to Pinarello, this is not a manufacturing defect, but a problem with the adjustment. Combined with the heavy load of the cobblestones, this ultimately led to the break.

 >>/75445/
the handlebars alone are well over a thousand bucks iirc
reminds me I read somewhere that campagnolo requires more torque for their shifter clamps than some bars allow, I think that was in regards to gravel. When asked about that they just said well think of an alternative way to increase friction so the shifters dont slip lol

No. As a shameless paypig, I get a little thrill every time I get a little doodad or gadget or part or whatever.

I've made peace with the fact that I like tech just as much as like I enjoy the visceral process of riding. My other hobbies have a lot of paypiggery involved as well.

> Vive le vélo, leve de Ronde!
> Karl Vannieuwkerke en zijn gasten Tadej Pogačar
> Niet beschikbaar buiten België
geoblocking within the EU is still a thing? and besides this isn't some licenced shit, it's a tv show VRT themselves produced.

 >>/75461/
This thing is actually useful, no need to feel the piggers remorse immediately.
I have one meself and I use it almost everytime I get on a road bike. I've had it on a few times while in the gym but heart rate alone, limited to workout alone and accessible only via looking at your phone is pretty useless. And I would crush my phone eventually while it was on the floor, me looking down at it while deadlifting.

There is a high chance I will use that watch for a few months and then throw it to the side until it dusts and molds over but seems like a good paypig idea, with the accompanying dopamine spike while researching it, waiting for it, unboxing, peeling the film off and all that.

I think it going to be Amazfit Balance 2 XT, it just has to go down a few eurobucks. One-fiddy and I am oinking it out, two hundred seems a bit too lavish.

 >>/75469/
Piggery/usefulness should have Warhammer scoring high. Expensive pieces of plastic which serve nothing but dust collection outside of sporadic sesh of being dust collectors but during a game.

Ha, got one just now. Audiophilia. Beat that one.

 >>/75485/
My father is an audiophile, he has multiple stereo systems in his home, summer cottage etc. each worth around 200k€. It's hilarious, he listens mostly to the same few albums again and again, but at least the audio quality is top notch.

 >>/75493/
the nerves lol. imagine I write something like this here.
strange to read this message on this website as if it 'isn't from here'.
/bert/ itself offers a platform on which figures such as Leafbert, Bertolo, Bertaczek, Finnbert, Kurwabert and others can go wild on Wout van Aert every day with dirty spot posts and insults. Rusbert has built a career here with hate message to Arnaud De Lie.
Hate messages and threats are of course absolutely unacceptable, but treinbert should of course be accountable for his behaviour in the last velogames. he let Don Patje drive a trein, behind burgerbert he starts blasting with optakt enjoyer in the wheel. Tha means that treinbert was also there for me and that is clearly the case with many berts. Since treinbert does not drive on normal weekdays, but on holidays for better pay, as far as I am concered, he can now be excluded from selections of velogames.

Yeah it's a strange one, you see this even in high quality cycling journalism where the premise is already "everybody likes Wout" (lol, why?).

I did a few suprathreshold efforts outside as well as some lT1/low tempo. Pleasant +5 degrees with no wind and few cars. But it's tough mentally when the watts are 15-20W lower than in January before the illnesses. Oh well, got to start the build somewhere

 >>/75510/
Le family man underdog.
It started with getting heemed in cx day in day out by the eternal dutch rival and cx already has many common brow fans that are easily influenced.
Hate was mostly contained to grug.at first but like any cult it grows.

 >>/75493/
Vermeersch worked hard to catch Grug in E3, it was rather a certain Norsk Vismoid who refused to pull and gloated about his second place afterwards. It truly disgusts me how Visma fans blame and threaten other riders, when the blame clearly lies with Visma. But I suppose it's only natural, after all the team also behaves like this.

Just witnessed a massive humiliation ritual.
Some boomer retired after 40 years of slavery at the company and only got a cheap bottle of champagne. And then they're surprised people stop caring about the company.

 >>/75517/
What did he get

I could tell the American economy is in a downturn because normally I get Champagne as business gifts around the holidays, but last year I only got crappy American sparkling vin.

(America actually makes some exceptional sparkling wine, but Chandon ain't it)

 >>/75576/
nah, HLN had a really nice article about the belgian team in the vuelta costa rica

> Meanwhile, Niels is back in Wetteren. Did the green jersey bring him anything financially? Hardly. “The green jersey came with a cash prize of 500 US dollars. Once there, the organization paid for all my hotels, my food, and my transport. But I had to pay for the plane tickets to Costa Rica myself. That cost me 1,600 to 1,700 euros. But the experience was totally worth it,” Niels beams.

dude is an employee in a bike shop

> “I asked my previous team for three years to be allowed to ride”: Remco Evenepoel looks forward to first Tour of Flanders

meanwhile patje

> I told him all those years that he had to ride the Ronde, but he didn't want to back then. Now he might have people who have more of an impact on him. Apparently, he has changed his mind, and someone has convinced him.

 >>/75601/
> didn't work for wout when wout was the team captain at the home world championships
> won more monuments than wout
> won a grand tour
> won both rainbow jerseys
> won both gold medals at the olympics
remco is mogging wout so hard like you wouldn't believe

Even without winning I think Remco will enjoy RVV a lot (as long as he doesn't crash) and keep riding it in coming years. Riding against all the guys that aren't semen slurpers will please him a lot. Like, when he gets dropped by Pogi he will actually have others pulling with him (is he manages to stay in g2), and that's something he doesn't get from his usual calendar.

I did commit paypiggery. Not for a watch THOUGH. Helio strap from amazon, this is the best bung for b-ACK. If it does the job at the gym and tracking me vitals it will be chased by a watch as well.

 >>/75644/
Nice try blueskybert.

I don't understand why Wout has been hyped so much for RVV this year. He always comes short on those explosive hills. If there's a race I would still give him a winning chance it would be P-R, not RVV.

 >>/75649/
It's basically HR only but designed to be a non-stop monitor and extra stuff is derived from it.
I wanted to just stay with my wahoo wrist strap but it is a workout HR monitor with nothing extra. Which is fine but I wanted to have more noombeers and sleep monitored.

 >>/75661/
Never understood this sleep monitoring thing. As someone with sleeping issue I know exactly how good/bad my sleep was. The only good thing about sleeping with my garmin is the ego boost of seeing a resting heart rate of 38 or something

 >>/75662/
I'm like 50/50 I will use this shit for sleep specifically for two weeks or so, and then 5 more times and then never bother again.
Having consistent (even if off against something more precise, with all the medical approvals), integrated noombers across time for gym, everyday shop runs, actual rides and overall health trends is why I am pigging for it.
Also pigging for basically the cheapest possible option, if it turns out this is a complete slop and gimmick I will be done with after a month.

 >>/75673/
Good question. Seems like a waste of shekels flying him to Spain only to replace him with someone else the next day...
But then again there is only 6 lotto guys confirmed for Itzulia and PCS Bert might be drinking again.

> Asked to put the experience alongside the achievements of a career that placed her among the greatest cyclists of all time, she did not hesitate. "I would say it's bigger than winning the Olympic gold, having a child of your own," said Van Vleuten on the Domestique Hotseat.

Woke up early before the kid to do some adjoosting. First grug out, wout in, then the opposite, then at one point I had a full-uae team, then grug in again, and now I am 100% sure I have the winning team

now let's see what the Germans write about RVV:
> Remco Evenepoel: the return of the lost son is thrilling the entirety of Belgium
I thought the blind woutism was overshadowing the remco story.
> "the link between Remco and RVV is deep and emotional" says Ralph Denk
oh come on.

German Eurosport commentators are irritated that UAE is wasting Nils Politt so much controlling who can get into the break.
meanwhile the headwins makes it really hard that a breakaway can establish itself.
now bertaczek is trying to form a one man break.

One of the most demoralizing rides in long while

Both of my brakes decided to start rubbing randomly NOT even after using them, just out of nowhere.
The the sound from pedal keeps on happening and I can't for the love of me figure out what is causing it. I don't think it's assioma this time, might be cleats (thoroughly cleaned recently) or the cleat interface because I tried pedaling barefoot and it made no sound.
On top of that wind from hell that i scored 20 km/h on flat.

In the last few years I have conditioned myself to become irrationally angry whenever there's some sound coming from my bike it's unreal. I just give up trying to pedal and run home on autopilot scoring Z1. I am even considering throwing the pedal away altogether with the shoes and buying normal spd system like a reasonable wattlet would
