Related: rearming the Gulf States could take years. So second round of strikes might wait this much. The US can't allow the Gulf getting wrecked like this, has to arm her clients. Against Iran. Not Israel, Israel should be able to strike them any time without any blowback.

Alex of HistoryLegends telling the long story, adds many details.
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=D8jerBxtDAA
https://youtube.com/watch?v=D8jerBxtDAA

It would be nice to know what the govt and the "Africa Corps" has on their hands.
The important things are the large population centers and the gold mines. Not much else. And the populated part is along the Niger.
I gather from ChatGPT... that gold production is in the hands of Canadian, Australian, South African and Chinese companies. Just opening up Barrick Mining's "executives" page https://www.barrick.com/English/about/executive-team/default.aspx tells me the Chinese influence might be more than we think.
In any ways noone will harm any of these companies, it's basically a rivalry who gets to make deals with them. Or not. Perhaps it's all largely detached from the country. Luttwak's Coup d'État has some stuff to say about countries with strong foreign company influence, not sure how much that is relevant in this scenario (beyond the issue that this is not a coup but a rebellion).
I was doing some research on Mali and it's quite interesting.

To start off with Mali can be split into roughly three regions, the south, which is where the Government's power comes from and it gets enough rainfall to support agriculture, The governments power base comes from the Bambara people who live in that area.

Then there is the north, which is very arid and can't support agriculture, it's populated by Berber(Tuareg) Nomads, There are numerous confederations of Tuaregs but the most powerful is the Kel Adagh. These confederations are made of 'Noble tribes' and 'peasant tribes' but within the noble tribes there is also a heirachy. In the Kel Adagh it is the Kel Afella who are the top dogs, all Kel Adagh leaders come from this group.

The FLA operate in the north and are dominated by the Kel Adagh and the Kel Afella and are the conservatives of the North, they want to preserve the status quo.
The JNIM is a Jihadist group that operate in the north as well as the centre. The Centre of Mali is a transition zone between the agricultural subsaharan south and the the dry Tuareg North. It's dominated by the Songhai people but they don't seem to have much political power in Mali.
The JNIM are led by another member of the Kel Adagh but from a lesser noble tribe, therefore he can't actually take over the Kel Adagh as he is not from the Kel Afella. This is why he is the head of JNIM instead. JNIM are sort of the anti-status Quo force in the north, they want to abolish or re arrange the power structure there, so they are not really an ally of the FLA.

Anyway, the Malians do no like the North operating outside their control and want to subjected it, the French came in and rescued the government from a Jihadi offensive but the French where there for just that, they were not interested in subjugating the North for the Malians, they were just there to fight Jihadists.
The Malians did not like this so they removed the French and replaced them with the Russians to take Kidal(the capital of Kidal province which is where the Kel Adagh powerbase is).
This stirred up the Kel Adagh who would re organise and also the Malians and Russians were not able to finish the job and suffered a severe set back which led to a reversal.

Last year both the Kel Adagh and JNIM inflicted even further loses on them and now this year they have launched a joint offensive against the Malians, so far they have retaken Kidal and taken numerous other towns.
But as I said, they are not natural allies so who knows how this will end.
 >>/55346/
Ah, thanks for writing all this, didn't expect.
That clears up some of the situation. For example it's better to understand why govt. forces were booted out so easily. Their power base is at the other end of the country while the tworags are at home.
The tuaregs have a secession movement or at least an autonomy movement. It was peace until now because they had an arrangement with the govt years ago.
> Then there is the north, which is very arid and can't support agriculture,
That's basically the Sahel, which spans over countries across Africa and kind of a highway too for the migratory tuaregs. They can move about between countries north and south of this region, and can fight wherever, in Algeria, Libya, or down in Mali or Chad. I assume the ISIL/al-Qaeda exerts their influence the same way. Plus those who support these various groups and use them in various conflicts.
I think it's worth viewing African events as a whole holistically, kek, beyond on local state level.
The thing that actually grinds my gears in the case of the war on Ukraine:
Those Hungarian liberals or socialists or the combination these people who are very anti-fascist, those people who are so indignant about the Nazis and our participation in WWII, and they say how big of a mistake was to attack the Soviet Union, and who deny vehemently that the Soviet Union wanted to attack Europe, are now wholeheartedly support all aggression against Russia (like harassing the shadow fleet) and happy about every pain Russians suffer (like drone strikes against facilities) and they claim that Russia wants to attack Europe... So these hypocrites are essentially agreeing with Horthy and Herr Hitler and the rest, and they just can't see this somehow. Absolutely blind.
 >>/55355/
Definitely not.
People can't comprehend that the Reich and their leaders could have rational reasons for their intentions and actions. Nazis baed mkay.
Even tho the current Europa project is the same Lebensraum stuff. Western elites want to fuel the Franco-German economy with Eastern European resources (be it human or natural resource). They don't have problems with Russia in Europe, they have problems with Russian resources in Putin and Co's hands.
And the average Hungarian and European finds nothing wrong with this. It's the matter of who says the thing. If Hitler says it then it's bad, if von der Leyen then it's good.
Iran.
"Some say" that lively traffic is going on on the Iranian-Paki border. It's two way, oil out, goods in. The goods are trapped in Paki ports because the ships were bound to Iran but US blockade keeps 'em out. And the oil is essentially a smuggle operation - tho there's some tweets claiming over 75000 trucks went through 30K liters per truck. How much is that really, I dunno.
There are pipelines too.
An half finished Iran-Paki, where the Iranians built their side, but for US pressure the Pakis didn't theirs. Their country suffer from energy shortage so they'd need it.
Another is an Iran-Turkmen-Afghan-Indian line. Only the first half is built, the Talibans say they are trying the build their part, the Indians started nothing yet as far as I know. But again, they need Paki access because geography. And Afghanistan and Pakistan has a war going on between them.
The second could be a viable solution, especially if the Chinese could connect to it, perhaps in Afghanistan. Perhaps they could build it to China and from there to India. It would be good to see an actual map where it is planned.

> The rail corridor between Iran and China has been operational since around May 2025. It can shorten transit times to roughly 12–15 days compared to 30–40 days by sea, but volumes remain limited compared to tanker shipments.
There was really funny Iran war report by Wyatt off DPA couple days ago. All the sources were Fox News essentially.

He also voices interesting opinion about Iran, liek:
> they can't do anything else but attack first
I heard similar from other people too. They don't get Iranian mindset and strategy. Iran can't attack first and they always have to agree ceasefire and negotiations even if everyone knows it's a sham. They determined to show the world they are the victims of aggression and ready for peace.
 >>/55363/
The ISIS-Khorasan and small groups of Uighur jihadis might mean danger to railroad oil transports. The article isn't about this but details how ISIS tries to recruit among the Uighurs and how Chinr treats them is the backdrop.

There is this new American telly show, CIA. First episode aired 2026 February 23.
As the story goes at one point an agent says:
if he did turn he could sell it to Iran to control the Strait of Hormuz
Everything US media does is just a psyop.
Interesting thought from Wyatt of DPA:
https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=wK48NyQL3Wc
https://youtube.com/watch?v=wK48NyQL3Wc
He says Ukraine can continue with strategic strikes indefinitely. Ukraine reduced manpower losses, by relying drones more and more to hold the front - this tactics works because how Russia fights this war. So manpower doesn't matter much anymore. So even if Russia occupies whole Donbas, they can't just end the conflict.
He doesn't say this, but since Ukraine's economic and production base isn't really in Ukraine but elsewhere in Europe, Russia can't destroy their factories much. And what they destroy, Ukraine can rebuild. So it's a constant knocking down again and again.
So yeah, let's say Russia conquers the rest of Donetsk this winter the latest. Then what? They could say: hey we reached our goal we want to end the war. But Kiev can say no. And they do easier since manpower losses are lower.
There are many other things in play, so this is a lopsided approach (for example there are equipment losses too).
Russia really has to innovate to intercept Ukrainian drones and rockets.
Matt's video with the Australian diplomat was pretty gud. The old man knew exactly what his position should be on the topics, and sounded level headed.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=T_RksbGDE4g

Wyatt's war animation is pretty cool:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Q60KjqUF4bU
https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=Q60KjqUF4bU
I assume the used the reports, videos, and geolocations to map out the events. I wonder how much is a deduction, hypothesis, and creative fantasy.
Aragchi had talks in Qatar today. He sure travel a lot.
Trump tweeted that he talked with everyone in the region (except Iran) and things go well and soon everything be all right. He also said often recently that Iran can't have nuclear weapon - seems to agree with the Iranian position which is the same since forever, and they always say the same.
I don't know if US troop buildup continues or not. UAE seemed to decide not to remain passive subject of Iranian attacks if the conflict heats up but directly aligned themselves with Israel and the US. Since the other side of the strait is their land, they could be an important springboard to whatever the Washington wants to do there if they want to do anything.
I don't think Trump is enthusiastic about doing anything more.
If the bombing campaign had been so successful then they would not have resorted to the blockade and if the blockade had been showing more success then they would have start with that instead of the bombings.
Generating popular revolt failed, no guerilla warfare by separatist, and they did not launched punctuated military attacks either. At this point they are running out of the foreign policy tools.
Trump tweeted the Persuasion policy of Obama was shit, and frankly the Containment did nothing, this is why he started the bombings.
Basically three path remains:
1. continue Containment, giving up, moving on
2. Engagement, free Iran from the shackles of Containment and treat them as any normal state
3. launch an Invasion.

Last Ukraine war map wankery was on February 1st: >>/55060/ since then it's all Iran and Trump.
These days the constantly turning vinyl record is Ukraine having the upper hand, on the advance, beating back Russians. As Matt of WillyOAM said today: they claim this without acknowledging that Russia every had the upper hand. And similarly they captured back clay they never acknowledged they lost to the Russians.
What's new is the Ukrainian strategic drone strikes: >>/55393/ which won't win war, but it seems Russia isn't that successful to intercept them, yet.

I think the reason for the slower pace of Russian advancement is two fold. First it's spring, mud season. Advancements are slower, for fighting is more painful.
Second, they reached an operationally important goal: capturing Pokrovsk-Mirnograd. Now they reorganize, resupply, probably give some of the units some rest. They will start again on new main axes. I assume the main goal is the "liberation" of Donetsk oblast, taking Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
One solid base could be Pokrovsk-Mirnograd and push towards north from here. Another direction is Kostiantinivka and along the chain of settlements to NW. Third the ex-Siversk front, to move the line up to Kramatorsk and Sloviansk. And ofc there is still Lyman.
All the rest, Sumy, Kharkov, Dnipro, Zap are secondary, supportive, to stretch the AFU. In Kherson nothing happens.
I'm not sure if we'll be able to tell when they start, the whole war is one long offensive since they built things up by 2023 autumn-winter, which sometimes seems more intensive and "faster" paced, then slows down. Will there be another FAB campaign like what our lad Molin mapped before?

Let's just check DeepState.
Haven't noted this yet, despite it's very interesting.
The "gamification of drone warfare".
https://time.com/7319847/7319847/
Essentially Ukrainian drone teams ear points based on destroying targets. Tank is 40, MLRS 50, a soldier is 6, etc. The points can be changed depending on what the command wants to prioritize as targets.
There is a toplist of the teams also they can redeem their points on Brave1, a digital marketplace - for equipment and stuff, there is a wide but classified selection.
Longish article I can't read whole of it right now. But they note two advantage of this approach: 1. the accounting of hits are more clear, have to tally the score; 2. gives motivation to the troops.

It interests me from a different aspects. I have to refer to the book On Killing by LtCol. Grossman: >>/8950/
Essentially to come over the human resistance to kill another human bean several tools exist. The main one is dehumanization. Ofc the enemy becomes barbarian or even animals, pigs, orcs, but for example artillery doesn't shoot at people, but coordinates. Another tool is inserting a filter between the soldier and hist target: a scope or a monitor. And ofc killers can be trained with games. In drone warfare all aspect presents, and actually treating as a game also add to the illusion that the whole thing isn't real, which makes drone operators become even more coldhearted killers. No wonder they commit so many warcrimes (eg killing wounded, weaponless, surrendering soldiers).
Europe is occupied with the extremely useful "who to send to peace talks with Russia" displacement activity.
However some moments of sanity still shines through here, probably by accident, like a Freudian slip.
The article is horrible edited, but the Norwegian Foreign Minister has a point.
https://www.politico.eu/article/europe-russia-ukraine-war-talks-mediator-norway-espen-barth-eide/

He says that Europe should drop the term "mediator" because Europe has interests and can't be impartial. Finally someone recognizing this in Europe!
Have to refer to The Burning Archive: >>/54881/ Jeff Rich pointed out this war has five (5) participants, all with different stakes and all has to make separate peace. But they have to get to the point acknowledging this.
I want to touch on something Ukraine war related. I posted it elsewhere but the thread was Mülleimered.

It's about the peace talks in 2022, everyone only remembers Istanbul.
But there was an earlier event, just days after Russia attacked Ukraine. Kiev was ready to achieve at least a ceasefire, they organized peace conference in Bern, but the EU quickly give $500 million to Ukraine and promised another €4,5 billion if they continued the fight.
They described the situation as "watershed moment" - they had to act quickly. One could say because Ukraine urgently needed weapons, but it sounds like because Ukraine wanted to quit, and they did not want that to happen.
But situation did not improve which led to Istanbul. Which was torpedoed by BoJo and co.

Article from 2022 February 25:
https://kyivindependent.com/ukraine-ready-to-negotiate-with-russia/
> Earlier on Feb. 25, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said that Ukraine offered to hold the negotiations in Warsaw, instead of Minsk, which was proposed by Russia. Then, according to Peskov, Ukraine stopped the conversation.
> Nykyforov denied it and said that Ukraine was willing to negotiate, and the talks continue.
> Zelensky said that everything would depend on the security guarantees that Ukraine can receive.

On 2022 February 26:
https://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/schweiz-will-friedenskonferenz-in-genf-organisieren-129475547083
> In Bern, diplomatic efforts are in full swing to organise a peace conference to end the war in Ukraine. The immediate goal would be to achieve a ceasefire. A request to this effect was made on Saturday by Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky to Swiss President Ignazio Cassis. This request authorises Switzerland to formally and under international law...
Sadly the article is paywalled.

But then on 2022 February 27
https://www.politico.eu/article/eu-ukraine-russia-funding-weapons-budget-military-aid/
> he EU had agreed “to provide arms — lethal arms, lethal assistance — to the Ukrainian army for a value of [a] €450 million support package and €50 million more for the non-lethal supplies – [such as] fuel and protective equipment.”
> the EU will use an off-budget so-called “European Peace Facility” financing instrument with a ceiling of €5 billion that can be used to provide military aid.
> “Another taboo has fallen,” Borrell said. “The taboo that the EU was not providing arms in a war, yes we are doing it … This war requires our engagement in order to support the Ukrainian army.”

The money wasn't spent on purchases, and wasn't given to Ukraine. It was used to reimburse those EU member states who sent weapons and equipment (I think this was the time when Germany said, they will just send helmets).
Basically the "security guarantee" Zelensky received was the EU war fund. He did not lie everything really depended on that.
> Syria is weak and divided. Syria can't defend herself.

Syria, under Assad the elder, is one of the main culprits that destroyed Lebanon. They wanted to have Lebanon now they have nothing.
 >>/54801/
> So NATO only needs to loan 3 soldiers for each battery, the rest can be Ukrainians.

I doubt that Germany has any soldiers in Ukraine. If they would get killed, worse taking POW, then the German government would have a big problem.

I have problems to post here. Captcha is rejected despite me thinking they are correct.

 >>/54846/
> It is lopsided

He was muzzled

The last serious videos he made showed him very concerned about the war preparedness, or lack it in Austria and the West.

> the "hybrid war"

Is just a western propaganda talking point. Of course there exist many different avenues through which Russia tries to influence people, but that is nothing special compared to the measures in the West.

Why this point is repeated so often in the West is, that it has lost credibility among their own people. But that is mostly of their own making and not the cleverness of Russian propaganda.

> The fun part is that the West wages the informational war on its own population!

That works only so far. Today the West is like the end of the communist block in Cold War. The discrepancy between propaganda and experience of the people grows just bigger.
 >>/54937/
> Jacques Baud and Xavier Moreau this half-negro Swiss lady

That is what I say in >>/55438/
the West has lost credibility by throwing out basic civilisatory standards like rule of law, due process.

> Russia often presents herself as a power that is against the colonialism the West still practices. It's a Soviet heritage ofc, the SU did the same. And they support those locals who also want to get rid of the remnants of their former oppressors and exploiters.

That is just rhetoric and I think those in government in Africa and other places know that.

> Are they so afraid they couldn't compete on leveled field with others eyeing the continent (such as US, Russia, and China)?

They all do the same, they pay off those in charge. That is what nigger in chief expect.

> I see the same parallel with those Russians who don't want to live under Putin's regime and try to emigrate, but tarded EU politicians like Kaja Kallas wants to deny them the opportunity.

That is deliberately. Contrary to what the Russian or EU governments say, nobody wants regime change in Russia.
The policy of the "West", the USA that is controlling the West is to create a divide between Europe and Russia. The USA has no interest in a good relationship between Europe and Russia, George Friedmann talks since a long time why and what.
Ah I think it's just one Bernd posting from three IPs.

 >>/55437/
> I doubt that Germany has any soldiers in Ukraine.
They are way, way beyond that point. Also western soldiers aren't in the uniform of their respective countries.
> oh i just volunteered

 >>/55438/

I have to check the latest of his.
> Is just a western propaganda talking point.
Hybrid war does exist. Russia does it. What Western media and "experts" leave out is the Western hybrid war. Propaganda is not outright lying, but taking the facts and put them in the a certain light to influence people with.
> That works only so far.
It really works because most people don't really follow anything. And they don't scrutinize what they hear with one ear.

 >>/55439/
> throwing out basic civilisatory standards like rule of law, due process.
Yeah, they do that. On the other hand they don't really lose credibility, or the rate of it doesn't matter. They need divided societies and the ability to fabricate just enough support, consent for the governments to keep going.
Probably credibility doesn't matter at this point. We are on rails.

> That is just rhetoric
Rhetoric matters a lot. There is a reason why Russia presents herself like that.
Three group approaches the African nation of Bababunga.
Russian says:
- We give you money and expertise to develop stuff in return we get resources and basing rights and whatnot.
Chinese says:
- We give you money and expertise to develop stuff in return we get resources and basing rights and whatnot.
Westerner says:
- We give you money and expertise to develop stuff in return we get resources and basing rights and whatnot. Oh and you have to stop beating women and have to start chopping off the peepee your kids. And this is because you are a bunch of stupid nigger barbarians who can't appreciate real civilization.
Whom will President Bumbuli pick?
Westerners approach the 3rd world with the same colonial mentality, where they are the enlightened tutors of the retarded subhumans. The white man's burden still applies.
Lotsa talk about a "peace" deal, that it's practically signed and whatever. Details are hazy and can't really know. There are some statements both from Washington and Tehran, and from commentators all around which not help judging what's real. The Trump admin has a reason to keep details hushed up and denied too, since they made an utter clown of themselves during this whole ordeal and the No1 power of the world came out worse as they went in.
Major obstacle is Israel. Iran wants em to stop their campaign in Lebanon, they don't want to hear about it. Apparently. But I don't think they do it without checking in Washington, I suspect it's a coordinated tactic by them. Perhaps to gain time for whatever Israel think still needs to be done.

One sure thing, perhaps the only sure thing, is that Iran won't make an A-bomb. Which they didn't want in the first place. What other agreement will be in effect in case of the whole nuclear program - uranium enrichment, power plants, "uranium dust", etc. - I don't think it can be known yet. Obama had a deal which Trump scuttled.
Strait of Hormuz will be open. According to Trump no toll. But this isn't sure either. And they say it will be a slow process until it opens. Mines apparently. I heard from Marandi Iran never layed mines. Which I suspect it's true because how else the ships that payed the toll to Iran sailed through?
There is a big number floated: $300 billion investments in Iran, by US and Gulf States. Can considered as reparation.
Iran's frozen assets will be unfrozen. Or some of it. $10-25 billion. Or none.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/6/16/iran-war-day-109-tehran-washington-sign-mou-electronically
> Vance has published a video on X and called the deal with Iran a “win-win for the American people”.
Win-win means a win for both sides. Win for Iran and win for US. Is Vance mentally disabled?
And now that we are at Vance. He wasn't really close to the conflict, but now he seems all around. Curious.

Things to note about the Ukraine war in this phase - for late spring and early summer I think.
1. Russian advance in the most important operational region, Donetsk oblast. From Pokrovsk-Mirnograd area, from Siversk toward Sloviansk-Kramatorsk, and at Kostiantynivka.
2. Small Russian advances in minor directions, perhaps Zap is half-important, and at east of Kupiansk in that pocket.
3. Ukrainian recaptures chiefly in Dnipropetrovsk oblast, some in Zap. First is less important for the Russians.
4. Ukraine intensified strategic strikes, it seems sometimes they launch them from NATO countries (Baltics), since Russia pocketed record amount of dough due to the Iranian/Gulf clusterfuck the effects probably were minor.
5. Midrange strikes that effects the operational theater directly, along the land bridge north of the sea of Azov. They hit considerable amount of trucks with drones. This put pressure on the supply lines. Western "analysts" overestimate the importance ofc.
For now not sure if Russia has a way to counter effectively #4 and #5. I heard they now report how many Ukrainian drones and cruise missiles they shot down, like how Ukraine reports theirs.

Westerners try to sell it as either stalemate or AFU "turning the tide".
Reminds me to watch Col. Reisner's most recent about the very same.

Not much surprises there. Three screenshots of I found interesting.
1. The number of Patriots used up against Russia vs Iran. How many targets were neutralized by those Patriots launched by Ukraine? Triple amount of this? I think Alex of HistoryLegends has a number in a video.
2. Vehicle losses by Oryx. I assume this is the whole war.
3. The Kill Zone where vehicle's can't move without getting targeted and probably destroyed.
Looks like Lyman is abandoned.
Or at least this is what Wyatt suppose or can suppose from the geolocations. Russians seemingly just walking in.
Perhaps the number of defenders are reduced and the RuAF can suppress enemy drones.
This tabloid makes an interesting point. Cemeteries!
https://www.the-sun.com/news/13386247/military-cemetery-ukrainian-army-putin-invasion/
How to judge losses? Check cemeteries, perhaps even on satellite images. Or especially there.
> And Ukraine’s toll has now become impossible to hide at military cemeteries across the war-weary nation.
The article on 2025 January 26 approximates Ukrainian death to 100K plus 50K missing, btw. These are military losses, since the article mentions the 40K civilian death and injuries.

2 days NATO summit, ought to be fun.
Perhaps its more liek politics except, all the topics they talk is relevant here. It's a military alliance after all. And politics is just war with other memes.

One result of these jawing in Ankara is that Ukraine will get the license of the Patriot missile. To which part, the whole thing, which model, etc isn't clear. But in the future sometimes they will be able to produce it. They need a factory tho, which is also undecided, where and how. Or at least any detail is non-disclosed. I'm fairly sure if the production begin while the war is still on, the factory and the supply lines will be high up on the target list.
So it's not really helping the war effort just yet.

Sirsky is replaced with Mikhail Drapatyi after protests demanded the old commander-in-chief gone, after Def.Min. Fedorov was sacked. Zelensky offered a new place for the latter in the govt., people like him.
I heard Drapaty is a "new type of general". He is major general which is low rank. Since military reform was the issue between Fedorov and Sirsky we either might expect changes from Drapatyi (since he is young) or he will has the role to keep on to the line Sirsky held, he just an acceptable figure.

US - Saudi nuclear deal.

I think they want to create a close-nuclear-weapon state out of Saudi Arabia to counter Iran's threat to it. It's an arms race.
Why do I think this?
The article says:
> Some US media reports have suggested that the deal will allow Saudi Arabia to enrich uranium domestically rather than import nuclear fuel from the US.
Which isn't proof of anything but they cite the Trump admin. talking about nonproliferation and keeping standards and shit:
“Rest assured, these agreements uphold the highest standards of nuclear safety and nonproliferation, while relying on the world’s best nuclear technology and scientists, designed right here in the United States.”
The Trump administration said the deal with Saudi Arabia will create jobs in the US, “reinforce global nonproliferation standards”, and strengthen the strategic partnership with Riyadh.

If they claim they won't do it, that's like stating that oh yes they will do. This one and a half year of Trump proved that enough.

Will this Saudi near-nuke-capable state will help to keep the peace better?
Iran enriching uranium not to initiate attacks, but if its necessary and attacked in certain way they could build a bomb quick and attack back. It's the threat of having one to keep would be attackers from action.
I think Washington is grasping to straws to prove they are handling the situation instead of fumbling. But they are fumbling on and dog knows what the consequences will be.

They should have made the plant more mosque like.
