Around 2024 December 8 (I think the real date was the 7th) Assad was overthrown in Syria and left for Russia, went into exile with some of his family. Since then the Turkish backed and Turkish proxy Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) took over most of the country, led by Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa aka. Abu Mohammad al-Julani who risen through the ranks of al-Qaeda to found al-Nusra Front which he turned into the HTS, and now he is the President of Syria and changed his kaftan to a suit. And Syria turned from the enemy of the US into a client or a client of a client (Turkey's client).

Syria is weak and divided. Her leaders really has to bow to their masters, I don't think they like this, but they can't do anything else since Syria can't defend herself.
To the very north the other Turkish backed faction Syrian National Army (SNA) has a small enclave still I think. In the North East in the Kurdish populated areas the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to rule, while Turkey has a buffer zone protruding into their territory. New formation emerged in the south where the Druze minority lives, I believe they are now essentially autonomous.
During the chaos of Assad's fall Israel invaded from the occupied Golan Heights and occupied more of Syria, calling it a security zone, similar to the Turkish one in the north.
I think the event that really showed Syria's vulnerability and that it is just a toy for all the stronger states around was the Israel-Iran war, when the IDF jets used Syrian airspace to refuel, blatantly disregarding any appearance of sovereignty.

But Syria left the isolation, the US stopped with the containment policy, sanctions were lifted. Now the leaders of Syria try to establish international relations. Just yesterday al-Sharaa met with Putin in Moscow. He also met Trump and Macron too not in Moscow - which our lad Clement Molin found distasteful, if the translation is correct. I also heard they established relations with India as well. So they are reaching out to everyone they can.

Not much surprises there. Three screenshots of I found interesting.
1. The number of Patriots used up against Russia vs Iran. How many targets were neutralized by those Patriots launched by Ukraine? Triple amount of this? I think Alex of HistoryLegends has a number in a video.
2. Vehicle losses by Oryx. I assume this is the whole war.
3. The Kill Zone where vehicle's can't move without getting targeted and probably destroyed.

Looks like Lyman is abandoned.
Or at least this is what Wyatt suppose or can suppose from the geolocations. Russians seemingly just walking in.
Perhaps the number of defenders are reduced and the RuAF can suppress enemy drones.

I'm fairly sure I posted Alabama 3 (A3 in the US) before. But here you go, The Telly Show Theme Song of all time.

I watched/listened this video:
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=8EnkhQeTgiY
https://youtube.com/watch?v=8EnkhQeTgiY
Some grille listenes the full Reign in Blood album, for the first time, in one sitting.
Sometimes I watch music reaction videos. As always most are trash (not thrash like this one), couple of good ones, I really enjoyed this I have to say.
She really has an upbeat attitude as if she wasn't listening to songs about death, murder, suffering, and torture. And the music wouldn't be like a barrel half full of nails shaken by an epileptic mong. I like the album, it's a classic
She's right, one can hear the punk influence in it.
At 00:28:20:
> DO YOU WANNA DIE????
< No, I don't!
Cutest moment. This is the correct way of listening Slayer.

Dev made some changes and they have an autoban that bans me occasionally. That's okay.
There is a constant botposting thing however that's more bothering. But then again automated spam is like the internet now.

You know what, forget it, I pussied out in the end since I need to have my highschool certificate and that doesn't come out in three months.
Plus I started seeing how is the job market in brazil and apparently there's a lot of protectionism going on there, companies are required to have their staff be at least 2/3rds brazilians, and the trade labour is also exclusive to their citizens as well.

ITT: post interesting sattelite images and what's notable about them.

These are shots from Rondônia state, where human settlement is strikingly clear. Highways -most notably, the BR-364 flowing SE to NE- and their evenly spaced perpendicular side roads flow deep into the jungle, with deforestation, cattle herding, agriculture and urbanization (roughly in this order) following suite. This leaves a light green (mostly composed of pasture) grid dotted with gray points where lines meet, overlaid on a dark green matrix. Few other places have so many clear, sharp edges that can be easily seen from extreme heights.

I know about Nördlingen. Cool little "medieval" town.
> round fields
I build them in Tropico 4. But sometimes it's better to keep the regular farms.

 >>/55377/
Yeah, Bologna had those. And perhaps couple other towns. They were like castles for patricians.
Some still remains.
Wanted some google streetview from the hill south of town but too many goddamn hedges, can't see shit.

> I figured the blueish patch in the south isn't water, but what is it?
Empty farmland. You can see it in use in earlier dates.

> How does it help with erosion?
Every row of shrubs along the countour lines is perpendicular to the direction of surface runoff.

 >>/55376/
Nördlingen is what every crater city wishes it could be.

> Always thought pivot irrigation farms looked cool.
They're a good contrast to all the right angles in cropland. Or the desert.

> And while we're on the subject of curious mediaeval cities, supposedly Bologna Italy had skyscrapers during the Renaissance.
Cramped and ominous. I love it.

Previous thread: >>/36217/

Found fun informational. It's dated, I think from 2019 but things seems to be the same. Not sure about that Paris Climate Agreement tho.

As in last post in prev thread stated today EU Parliament voted back Ursula von der Leyen as the president of the EU Commission (EU govt. basically).
719 deputy
707 votes
401 yes
284 no
15 abstained
7 invalid votes
She's so dumb, and the dumbest statements she makes. She's also a bit dated, she was first elected in 2019. But it shows how strong the leftlib is, they stay in power as expected, despite all the bleeting in the leftlib press about far-right danger.

They are not hard to explain, one was a nut job who sprinted at a security checkpoint with a gun and got shot, the other was a nut job who drew a gun at a security checkpoint and got shot. They didn't sneak through any checkpoints.

The first shooter was staying in the hotel that the event was being held in and the second was just a dude walking down a public street which he is fully entitled to do, there was no way to stop him other than at a checkpoint and a checkpoint did stop him.

Kirk shooter didn't shoot the president but just some public speaker.

There was the ear shooter who tried sniping Trump of course, it seems like the reason he was able to get there was because there was confusion between the secret service and Police over who was responsible for that building.

In theory all it should take is one line of sight and somebody can shoot trump. Probably a determined and calculating shooter could do it and it would not surprise me if it happens one day.

Buy bunch of dry pasta? Not sure.
As for day to day living I don't really expect much change. The lawmakers and their puppetmasters give us coloring books and we have to abide the rules of it.
I kinda fear for the Hungarian culture. Orbán govt not just let people do Hungarian stuff, but they had some faux-pro-Hungarian rhetoric and policy actions (like setting up some institution for research of Hungarian genetics and whatnot that fused with the old tradition). Among the backers of the current govt. there are people who hate Hungary, Hungarians, Hungarian culture, who openly deny it's existence.

Right now two things going on.
The current govt discovers items in the budget that has no cover to back it, in the thousands of billions of HUFs. That's liek a 100 Euro or so I dunno, but a lot. On the other hand they have promises to lower tax and give more gibsmedats to people. So they say they'll revise and examine everything and will audit govt spending and will keep the Orbán govt responsible, while slimming bureaucracy and whatnot. And try to get the money from the EU, but that has a deadline and I dunno, drama is high.
The other one is a scandal around a pardon the previous President of the Republic, Novák Katalin gave to some dude. The crime in itself is not really serious: he tried to cover up someone else's crime. Where it gets scandalous is that the crime the other dude committed is a sexual crime against underage people. So ofc everyone got riled up, crying pedophilia and ofc everyone wants to look very strict and demand justice because they fear they'll get accused with pedophilia... the accusation that can ruin lives. This was the reason Novák left her office, back then when this happened and got publicized.
However when this happened the Minister of Justice was Varga Judit, who was the wife of our current PM, Magyar Péter. Their marriage and divorce wasn't the nicest - there is another ongoing scandal around this but I won't go into that.
Anyway now they are publishing the files, and they behave like as if they were the Epstein files. Right now what I'm hearing everyone tries to pile the shit onto Novák. As far as it can be told someone put this case of in front of her to sign it and pardon the dude but noone seems to know who was it.

Watching the video.
> hungary is getting richer
Heh. What news does he read and/or listen?
> romania stable government
I don't even know when they had a stable govt last time. Orbán was japing that during his time, in 16 years, there were 11 or so Romanian prime ministers...
> expecting current PSD coalition to fix the economy with the previous PSD coalition fucked up
> János, I...
Also in one of his previous video he just said how Orbán's Hungary's economy is worse than Romania.
> paying for medical care every time they visit the doctor
They just discovered the free market. Romania caught up to the US finally.
All right I stop commenting every line.
