The specific charges are not yet known and the indictment will likely be unsealed by a judge in the coming days. Trump will have to travel to Manhattan for fingerprinting and other processing at that point.

Valero Seeks U.S. Approval to Import Venezuelan Oil

HOUSTON/WASHINGTON, March 30 (Reuters) – Valero Energy Corp VLO.N, the second-largest U.S. oil refiner, is seeking Washington’s permission to import Venezuelan crude, according to four people close to the matter, hoping for a repeat of the approval granted to Chevron Corp in November after a four-year ban.

President Joe Biden’s administration has eased some U.S. sanctions on the OPEC-member nation in an effort to encourage a political dialog with the country’s opposition. That has led to further pressure from U.S., European and Asian energy firms, but Washington has resisted any additional major steps for now. 

Venezuelan oil resumed flowing to the U.S. in January under a Treasury Department license granted to Chevron that allowed it to expand output there and export the oil. Refiners including Valero and Phillips 66 have bought cargoes from Chevron, according to U.S. Customs and shipping data. 

The Chevron decision came as part of negotiations for humanitarian aid and a presidential election. But efforts to fund the aid by releasing Venezuela’s frozen money abroad have stalled and no new talks have been scheduled since that time. 

Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro tweeted this week that the U.S. has agreed to attend an international conference on Venezuelan democracy to be held in Bogota. 
CHEVRON-STYLE EXEMPTION

Valero is asking the Treasury for a Chevron-style exemption from sanctions and allow it to directly purchase crude from Venezuela’s state-run oil company PDVSA, said one of the sources, who is based in Washington.

Other details of the Valero request were not immediately known. No decision appears imminent, the source said, signaling that the U.S., for now, does not want to be seen further easing Venezuela sanctions until President Nicolas Maduro makes political concessions to Venezuela’s opposition.

Before oil sanctions were imposed on PDVSA in 2019, Valero was among the U.S. top three receivers of the South American country’s crude through long-term supply contracts that have not expired. 

A Valero spokesperson said the company has not contacted the U.S. Treasury Department for permission to import Venezuelan oil. 

“I am told that we have not applied for a license,” said spokesperson Lillian Riojas. 

PDVSA did not reply to requests for comment. The Treasury Department declined comment. 

The U.S. has banned all cash payments to Maduro’s administration under its easing of sanctions. Chevron’s license – and approvals granted to European firms Eni ENI.MI and Repsol REP.MC – allow only for oil or debt swaps.
‘NO NEW LICENSES’

“The United States provided targeted, time-limited sanctions relief to support efforts to restore democracy and alleviate the suffering of the Venezuelan people,” said a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, referring to the six-month license granted to Chevron in November.

“We have no new licenses to announce or preview,” the spokesperson added.

Chevron’s resumption of Venezuelan crude imports has not led to an increase in the country’s overall exports this year, according to PDVSA schedules and Refinitiv Eikon data. The No. 2 U.S. oil company exported some 86,000 barrels per day of Venezuelan oil in February. 

PDVSA’s new boss Pedro Tellechea in January suspended most oil supply contracts while reviewing payments for past shipments. That suspension has recently brought Venezuela’s exports almost to a halt, with only four customers – Chevron, Iran, Cuba and Hangzhou Energy – authorized to lift cargoes. 

The investigation into payments and disclosure of $21.2 billion in commercial accounts receivable since 2020 this month prompted the resignation of powerful Oil Minister Tareck El Aissami and the arrest of top PDVSA officials.

Mr. Trump will be the first former president to face criminal charges. The precise charges are not yet known, but the case is focused on a hush-money payment to a porn star during his 2016 campaign.
The unprecedented case against Trump will have wide-ranging implications.
Donald J. Trump was indicted in Manhattan on Thursday for his role in paying hush money to a porn star, according to five people with knowledge of the matter, a historic development that will shake up the 2024 presidential race and forever mark him as the nation’s first former president to face criminal charges.
On Thursday evening, after news of the charges had been widely reported, the Manhattan district attorney’s office confirmed that Mr. Trump had been indicted and that prosecutors had contacted Mr. Trump’s attorney to coordinate his surrender. Two people with knowledge of the matter said Mr. Trump was expected to turn himself in and face arraignment early next week, at which point the specific charges will be unsealed.
Mr. Trump had for decades avoided criminal charges despite persistent scrutiny and repeated investigations, creating an aura of legal invincibility that the indictment threatens to puncture.
His actions surrounding his 2020 electoral defeat are now the focus of a separate federal investigation, and a Georgia prosecutor is in the final stages of an investigation into Mr. Trump’s attempts to reverse the election results in that state.
But unlike the investigations that arose from his time in the White House, this case is built around a tawdry episode that predates Mr. Trump’s presidency. The reality star turned presidential candidate who shocked the political establishment by winning the White House now faces a reckoning over a hush money payment that buried a sex scandal in the final days of the 2016 campaign.
In a statement, Mr. Trump lashed out at Mr. Bragg, a Democrat, and portrayed the case as the continuation of a politically motivated witch hunt.
“This is political persecution and election interference at the highest level in history,” Mr. Trump said in the statement, calling Mr. Bragg “a disgrace” and casting himself as “a completely innocent person.”
Mr. Trump has consistently denied all wrongdoing, saying he did not have an affair with the porn star, Stormy Daniels, who had been looking to sell her story of a tryst with Mr. Trump during the campaign.
On Thursday, the three lead prosecutors on the investigation into the case walked into the building where the grand jury was sitting,  arriving minutes before the panel was scheduled to meet at 2 p.m. One of them carried a copy of the penal law — with Post-it notes visible — which was likely used to read the criminal statutes to the grand jurors before they voted. About three hours later, the prosecutors walked into the court clerk’s office through a back door to begin the process of filing the indictment.

The company’s internal records falsely identified the reimbursements as legal expenses, which helped conceal the purpose of the payments.
Although the specific charges remain unknown, Mr. Bragg’s prosecutors have zeroed in on that hush money payment and the false records created by Mr. Trump’s company. A conviction is not a sure thing: An attempt to combine a charge relating to the false records with an election violation relating to the payment to Ms. Daniels would be based on a legal theory that has yet to be evaluated by judges, raising the possibility that a court could throw out or limit the charges.
The indictment, the product of a nearly five-year investigation, kicks off a new and volatile phase in Mr. Trump’s post-presidential life as he makes a third run for the White House. And it could throw the race for the Republican nomination — which he leads in most polls — into uncharted territory.
Mr. Bragg is the first prosecutor to indict Mr. Trump. He is now likely to become a national figure enduring a harsh political spotlight.

Biden Leaves Market And Military Unclear About Strategic Oil Reserve

The Biden administration’s inconsistent approach to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) has raised concerns and intensified skepticism among oil producers and tanker owners. Initially, the White House proposed refilling the SPR at specific oil prices (between $67 and $72 per barrel) aiming to strike a balance between supporting the industry and protecting consumers. However, crude oil prices have since dipped below $70 and recent statements by Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and Biden’s energy security adviser, Amos Hochstein, suggest a wavering commitment to this strategy.

This uncertainty coincides with the fallout from Silicon Valley Bank’s collapse, which significantly impacted oil futures. Amid this chaos, there was an opportunity for the Energy Department to refill the SPR and signal support for domestic oil producers. Still, the administration’s contradictory messaging has left the oil markets unclear about its intentions.

According to Denning about 75% of the 180 million barrels released from the SPR have already been “refilled” by canceling future Congress-mandated sales. However, a gap of 40 million barrels remains, which will grow to over 60 million this year as the last of the mandated sales are executed.

“Biden’s energy policy is a high-wire act balancing green objectives with the demands of energy security today,” writes Denning. “As with the recent approval of the Willow oil project in Alaska, the president will draw fire from within his own party’s ranks for anything that looks friendly to fossil fuels. Yet the underlying logic of using the SPR to modulate the market is sound green politics, too. As last year’s brush with $5 pump prices, and Biden’s response, demonstrated, he is apparently aware that letting oil supply drain ahead of demand is a good way to lose power before an energy transition can take hold.”

And then there is the strategic importance of oil reserves. In the current situation affecting the global tanker markets – tight supply accompanied by high charter rates – is being driven by the conflict in Ukraine and headlines show the difficulty countries around the world are having sourcing energy. A conflict with China would have more dramatic consequences for the markets. There would be significant but unpredictable impacts on oil markets, tanker markets, and trade flows upon which to base assumptions on tanker availability.

“In the event of a broad conflict with China in the Pacific theater, the U.S. will likely lose reliable access to the currently relied-upon sources of oil within the Pacific region,” wrote Captain Stephen M. Carmel, Senior VP at Maersk Line Limited, in a recent article on oil security. “The U.S. will then need to manage exceedingly long lines of supply to ensure oil flows to the forces in the greatly increased quantities demanded by a wartime operational tempo.”

Yo my hair started growing back after a hairloss battle of about 10 years now. Top of head looks almost blonde from all the new hair.

Did two things that grew it back so not sure which one but perhaps both.
1) Ketogenic diet / gluten free (drink diet soda to hack the mind to satisfy intense sugar cravings). I still eat some ice cream time to time but at least it has high protein / fat and gluten free.
2) Started laying down or sitting back against a wall so I can stretch my legs out while using the computer. Sitting on a chair is super bad for you. Messes up your Sciatica and lower back which is really important for blood flow. Most chairs aren't taken the time to be crafted ergonomically as the seat drives up into your hamstring cutting off bloodflow. Driving around all day and sitting will kill ya good. Also my legs and ass started growing because of better blood flow.

Possible I could have entered 5th Dimension I haven't ruled that out.

The news of the indictment of former President Trump immediately took over cable news channels and the country’s main broadcast networks on Thursday.
On Fox News, the host Sandra Smith interrupted the network’s roundtable show “The Five” around 5:30 p.m. with the breaking news, eliciting gasps from her fellow co-hosts: “We have just gotten word: Former President Donald Trump has been indicted by a grand jury in New York.”
On CNN, the news broke during Wolf Blitzer’s “The Situation Room” program. CNN quickly convened a rotating cast of analysts.
MSNBC’s Ari Melber pressed the gravity of the news on his audience, saying after the judicial process played out, the former president “could literally be incarcerated.”
NBC, ABC and CBS broke into regular programming to report the news, with some cameras pointing at the Manhattan district attorney’s office and Trump Tower in New York, Mr. Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida and his plane at Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach.
Much of the coverage focused on questions about the exact nature of the charges, which are not yet known, and when Mr. Trump would be arraigned, as well as security preparations underway in New York City. Mr. Blitzer of CNN told viewers it was “historic” news — the first time a former president had been indicted on criminal charges.
But on Fox, which has long been friendly to Mr. Trump, at least until recent months, there was a lot of speculation and commentary about the political motivations behind the indictment, with many of the hosts defending Mr. Trump.

Jennifer Dibs whooped and laughed as she passed Trump Tower. “This is a great day!” she cheered, undeterred by a man responding with a chant of “Let’s go Trump!”
Ms. Dibs, 57, said she had come specifically to celebrate the indictment and spread the news to people along the way.
“It’s a house of cards: little pieces have to get pulled, little threads,” she said.
“It could all just cascade from here,” added her childhood friend Jill Zimmerman, 56.
Others were less pleased with the news.
Travis Burrough, 27, was in town from Central California and said: “I think he’s only getting indicted because of who he is, being President Trump. They’re trying to take him off his campaign trail.” But Mr. Burrough, who voted for Mr. Trump and said he probably would again, was not surprised.
“It was going to happen sooner or later,” he said.
Downtown, a handful of anti-Trump protesters posed outside the courthouse on Hogan Place with a large banner reading “THE TIME IS NOW.”
Em Ingram, 20, a California native studying environmental studies, journalism and politics at N.Y.U., held a small sign that read “Trump is Over.”
“I live across the street. I’ve been watching out my window every single day, waiting,” they said. “I think it’s going to lead to some pretty complex results as far as stirring sentiments that are pro-Trump and against Trump. I’m hoping that the trial works out and he is in trouble for this, but it’s very hard to say, because he’s an extremely wealthy and an extremely well-protected man.”
Reporters and photographers descended on the courthouse, creating a scrum several people deep and standing on scaffolding waiting for a glimpse of District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, who quickly exited a side door on Hogan Place with a few other people, got into a black Suburban with dark windows and sped away. None of them said anything.

US base hosting president’s plane in lockdown over ‘active shooter’

Joint Base Andrews has been put into lockdown after an active shooter was reported at the housing complex of the site

An active shooter incident has been reported at Joint Base Andrews (JBA) near the US capital, with an armed individual spotted near housing units of the installation. Located in Maryland on the outskirts of Washington DC, the base is home to a fleet of US government aircraft, including the presidential Air Force One.

“An armed individual has beenreported near base housing. Stay away from base housing. Initiate Lockdown Procedures. Individual is a white male, wearing a purple sweatshirt, black shorts,carrying a AR-15 style rifle with no orange tip,” JBA said in a Facebook post on Thursday.

It was not immediately clear whether there were any casualties at the base. Shortly after announcing the lockdown, JBA urged the public to call 911 “if you see any people out moving.” The base’s law enforcement, as well as foot and mobile security patrols are continuing the search for the suspect, it added.

Early in February, JBA premises were penetrated by an intruder, who gained “unauthorized access” to the base’s housing area. The intruder was confronted by a resident of the base, who discharged a firearm. The suspect was promptly apprehended by security forces afterwards, with no injuries or damage reported.

Republicans:  MN Democrats are up to their scheming & cheating tricks once again.  They're out to completely destroy our state and need to stay in control to carry it out.
 
Minnesota Democrats are trying to bring Ranked Choice Voting or RCV to our statewide elections. They are trying to sneak Rank Choice Voting (RCV) funding into their Omnibus Elections Bill.  Which favors the Democrats of course.  Easy to manipulate, cheat, recounts almost impossible.  Voter ID is a much better option and all paper ballots.

Just like their passage of letting felons vote no matter how brutally cruel their crimes were.  Even those Felons that have committed murder and stole their victims rights to vote, MN Democrats are rewarding their murderers with the right to vote.  MN Democrats passed this and other demented laws against their constituents wishes to keep Democrats in power & control your tax money, give your tax money to groups that return money in donations back to the Democrats.  The same goes for The Democrats purposely giving illegals drivers license.  Democrats can no longer win elections without cheating.


We've seen enough from the outcomes of Minneapolis and St Paul elections where they already use RCV to select their mayors and council members to know that the process is flawed and has serious ramifications.

I've been an anon since Jan 2018 and  can not afford Pronto  , plus it is censorship against low income Patriots/Veterans, etc

I've been posting for months & earlier today & last night,  now until tonight, not able to post important news.  Is it possible to get some type of pass?  

I am also on gab, probably the 2nd best free speech pro Patriot sight…but has limited viewers.  Twitter has been compromised recently with fact checkers and conservative posts removed and locked accounts.  It is imperative that we get out the news without censorship, now…before our USA, constitution & bill of rights, freedoms are gone forever.  We are the last country with some necessary freedoms.

Some sort of free pass would be wonderful…I do contribute almost on a nightly/daily basis and can not afford pronto
