You can also set up LUKS or whatever so that the random passphrase to unlock it is on a micro-SD card that needs to be present on boot. You can chew it up and swallow the shards during a raid or if you suspect a visit. If it's a genuinely random key, then claiming you don't know it at that point is valid.

This is a good idea.
I have to run windoze AME because I run multi workstations with multi monitors. LInux desktop windows manager doesnt like more than one and a half monitors. Also I got the windows to network with my trueNAS server. also my router is a SBC running PFsense  but now I'm just bragging and I can hardly use the features anyway  Also my shitposting pc is taking way too long to reboot and its critically low on ram. I might need to reinstall windoze AME (the latest version) on all, uh four pc's or backup startup disks. fugg. Dont want to pull the trigger on that, would rather play around with my 3 arch linux machines and scope with the serial port.

I did dm-crypt my laptop running arch. I have a 20 random letter password that is different to my long random letter password for my password manager. Its better than nothing when the ZOG kicks in your door. I probably need a unencrypted NAS for all my soppy poetry and books on gardening but for my illegal data I want that on a local crypt.  Maybe with a backup under a rotting log deep in the bush. I guess the fear is that the ZOG will get into my crypt and plant CP there. they can plant CP on my unecrypted hdd but they will have to explain why i have and uncrackable crypt and CP sitting in the open. What an interesting spot I have ended up in. Have not been able to keep food or fluids down all day. Got waaay too zooted last night  and even though I was up till midnight somehow I was up at 4am. Body is in full purge mode. Not feeling sick just a basically an involuntary fasting at this point. Even wierdly enough managed to get a full day of work done . Functional. You are better of running Linux mint on bare metal and AME 10 in a Linux VM. 

The golden version of AME I known and loved is from 2018 before MS found out and took down all their images. It just werks but is probably rather insecure by now. I bought a cheap copy of win 11 for 20 bucks and tried their latest de-bot net tool kits called playbooks. It worked but 11 is such a mess and broke a few things. Still run AME on an air gapped laptop purely for diagnostics software. Rest of my shop is mint which has been golden but cinnamon is a bit behind the 8ball which is a good thing and I am slowly switching to / learning tricks and traps of the Wayland display display server and pipwewire  audio server that are just maturing out of experimental….

Have not run windows 11 yet. AME 21H1 2021 -8-9 is what I have on my network. It seems okay and can into LAN network. Just get on telegram and D/L AME. I tried running the github script but failed. 

I agree that windows time is running out. Its a bloated dinosaur that will let me down in a big way so I am taking my hiatus from le wage lyfe to sort Arch Linux out. 

Just stuck with windoze for the software. might think about VM once I get a bit better at it. How many PC's do you have running on your shop/home net? I bet you have a smart fridge or networked CNC machine or 3d printer.
